Rachel Maddow did some silly "creepiness scale" of post-Clinton political sex scandals last night, and while John Edwards ranked highest on the creepy scale, Weiner and Spitzer (all three guys are Democrats, in case you didn't realize) were right behind him...your boy Craig was at the very bottom, on the "less creepy" side...Lee was somewhere in the middle. You do realize, the reason Lee went without a fight, he was soliciting transvestites...and had a fascination with cross dressing? Honestly, resigning doesn't make you any more honorable, if you have nothing else to hide. If Wiener, or Lee, for that matter, come out, confess to their transgressions, and nothing else comes out, I don't see why they should be so obligated to resign. The world is running out of type-A personalities who do nothing wrong, ever...and most of them are too busy posting here, to have time to be public servants. Chris Matthews has been slamming Wiener as a "liar" since the story first broke, before there was any mea-culpa on the politicians part. Lets stop pretending that either side on this issue is somehow better than the other. I honestly think it is blown out of proportion all the way around. He failed them in epic fashion, yet that was a flirtation that took it's course over a period of time. He !@#$ed up and should resign as should anyone who behaved in a similar fashion. I would have to see all the other stuff he did, but if the allegations are true that he had several similar relationships going, he is truly contemptible. One I can see, he is scum there, then with multiple relationships going on he is just scum worthy of scorn. Gingrich brought his affair to the Anita Hill fiasco and his wife was on her death bed. Strom Thurmond effed young black women while repressing them. Ovama smokes. Bush started a war with no evidence and no one even got fired! All Weiner did was send dirty pics to someone who wanted them. Not a model citizen but down the list of poor conduct. At least Spitzer did something illegal. Stupidly illegal but at least illegal. Color me not caring much except that here's another in a long line of politician disappointments. Not that i really care about this topic, even though I do have to admit it does amuse me. But I believe there are some things that may come to light that he may have done something illegal. Like using federal resources to further his endevour with this chick, that would be a felony, he also may have shown his private body parts to an under age chick, that would be another no no. Honestly, at first I didnt think it was that big of a deal, but it seems like every day something new bares itself (sorry for the pun), I just dont see how he can stick around in office, and expect to get the respect that he did.
