Well, Meredith is an OT and Incognito a OG. So you're off there. Incognito knew that Bflo drafted 2 guards high, wisely wanted out and now he plays next to the best OT in the game. Incognito rid himself of the Bills, not the other way around.

There's plenty of stuff to complain about, but this is just whiney crap to me.

Absolutely right. Incognito was not cut as some people seem to believe - he was free agent. I cannot blame him for wanting a chance to start. Who knows if the Bills offered him a contract or not. None of us certainly do.

I'm glad someone brought this up. I thought of it as well - Incognito was released after playing well for a team with a terrible O-line when our starting G wasn't even ready to play - but still, he was pretty good, and we didn't even replace him, let alone upgrade. And what about Cameron Wake!!! This really blows my mind. The Bills switch to a 3-4, have no capable OLB's, and this guy is sitting there ready to be had - could have been brought in - AT A POSTION OF DIRE NEED - and we don't go after him! What? Whoever is making the personnel decisions in Buffalo doesn't have what it takes to be successful - the examples go on and on, and are still happening. We should not have missed on Wake - there are a lot of people on this site who mentioned him regularly for awhile before he was picked up. It's not like he wasn't known - our people didn't consider him to be an upgrade - AND THAT A BIG PROBLEM FOR US - WE CAN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE TALENT WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE - SOMETIMES ON OUR TEAM!!!

Incognito was not released - he was a free agent. Do you know whether the Bills offered him a contract? I don't. Cameron Wake was signed by Miami in 2009 when he was a free agent coming out of Canada. Many teams had him on their radar actually, including the Bills, who offered him a contract. He chose to play in Miami. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3844396

Rant on.

So game film is extensively? evaluated and the decision is made in the offseason to waive Incognito and keep Jamon Meredith. So Icognito is a starter on a very good Dolphin O Line, and Meredith, being entirely useless through trainig camp and into the season, is finally, finally cut.

Who is making these talent evaluations? (its a rhetoric question)

Incognito was looking for a two year deal, the Dolphins gave him a high incentive 1 year contract. Incognito told Donte Whitner he was not interested in playing in Buffalo. It was posted in Whitners Twitter page.

Richie was a restricted free agent, with 4 years accured service. If the Bills wanted him, he was going nowhere. Depending on the amount of the offer, the Bills would have recieved draft choices, round dependent again on the amount of his tender, if another team signed him. But, that was not gunna happen.

As someone else mentioned, if the Bills did that, where would he play? Guess you could say move wood to center, but that never really seemed like an option.

Incognito was waived by the Rams, claimed by Buffalo and signed for the 2009 season.

He could sign anywhere he wanted, and he did! He had problems and he wasn't getting an extended deal from any team!

No, Bills claimed him off waivers in 2009, as did other teams. He was awarded to Buffalo thanks to their mediocrity. He was a RFA at the end of the year and Bills had the bargaining power to keep him if they wanted to. He was the best interior OL on the team last year, but obviously personalities may not have worked for the team this year (surprised no one now remembers Kawika's tweet), so the Bills didn't tender him a contract.

As for personnel, I do have a hunch that Levitre - Wood - Incognito middle would be better than Levitre - Hanger - Wood.

No, the Bills owned his rights and he was a RESTRICTED free agent. The Bills could have tendered him an offer, and depending on the amount of said offer, would recieve draft picks if another team had signed him. Seeing as how not 1 restricted free agent was signed in the NFL last offseason, highly unlikely he would have been signed by another team.

If the Bills wanted him, he would be here right now. They chose to move on without him.

When you fight with the head coach you are pretty much banned in the NFL. He was nothing more then a fill in! Its to bad because I liked him in Buffalo :flirt:

Just because a player may say he would like to be released is not an indication that it is impossible to sign him. Money has a way of curing those concerns. This wimpy "oh we'll never get him or keep him because he doesn't like us...or Buffalo...or the coach." is the typical loser attitude that got us into this mess. Jim Kelly didn't want to play here. OJ didn't want to play here. I don't know how Bruce felt, but I can't imagine he was overjoyed at the prospect.

Last week Edwards, this week Meredith. Someone new each week for Nix and Chan Chan to take the blame for them not doing a good job.

How does everyone know that the problem is Ralph? How many players/coaches have said that?

Cowher didn't want to coach the Bills so much that he recommended the guy that the Bills hired and turned down other teams interested in bringing him back

Chan Gailey was not wanted either, so he and the Bills were a match made in...(can't say it in reference to the Bills). More than likely, Cowher has his eye on the New York Giants or Carolina. He knew this was a suicide mission and didn't want to put up with an inept front office. Gailey had no other choices.

Coy Wire (there was a whole thread dedicated to his Atlanta radio appearance) has said it publicly, as diplomatically as possible. Others say it by asking for their release. We have gone through numerous coaches, GMs and faux GMs, and the owner and his close front office cronies remain. Put 2+2 together to see that Ralph's lack of leadership or horrid leadership is the root cause. He hires the GM, coaches, overpays for marginal free agents, has his front office draft or sign a player to make a splash rather than build a foundation for a team. Are you serious in still asking "How does everyone know that the problem is Ralph?"?

where the eff do you come up with these conclusions?

Chan and Nix are cutting dead weight as they see it, they have never BLAMED the losing on Edwards and ESPECIALLY not on Meredith. This entire season is about getting rid of crappy players, and keeping those that are serviceable for the rebuilding.

you keep accusing Nix and Gailey of using these cuts to defer blame. that has never happened.

are you disagreeing with the cuts and saying that we should be keeping players like Edwards, Mitchell and Meredith? That they are so good they should be players on the rebuilt team next year and in the future?

Or can you manage for a second to see what is going on here? this team has very little talent and we're getting rid of the worst of them first, and moving on.

Cowher's wife just passed after a battle with cancer. She was very sick and there was no way he was coming back to coach ANY team THIS year. Whether he saw a problem with our organization or not, it doesnt matter, he wasnt coming back this year regardless.

Having Incognito doesn't do anything to help us with tackles. The tackles are terrible, but the interior linemen are fine. No need to keep Incognito on the bench, especially considering his penchant for getting flagged (was it once or twice last night?). I'm surprised at how bad Meredith played actually. He made Cornell Green look like a good option.
