Im not sure it is that, There are a lot of people on thoose teams now that will not be on the 53 man roster, I would not be surprised if guys like Moats and Ellis and Nelson are some of our big special teamers... I know they have been dreadful to watch but theese are not fuly assemled teams that we will see against the Phins

It appears our kickoff, kick return punt and punt return teams are loaded with players who don't want to be on them.

The players are simply not following their assignments....stay in their lanes. When you leave your lane to make a play instead of relying on your team mate you become a part of the problem. New SP coach is probably force feeding tape down their throats right now. Give it a little time, maybe they can correct the problems. I do miss Bobby April though.

It would be terrible great if the Offense or Defense was the best unit on the field and the Special Teams were a distant 3rd.

Seriously, no offense to Morman, but I long for the day when our punter is no longer the best player on the team or the day when our best chance to score a touchdown is on a punt/kick off return.

I don't believe we have any of the "specialists" left from last year. There is a reason teams keep players like Wendling around even though they don't have much of a chance to play. Bruce is tasked with finding/creating sonme special team demons, and with our defense you need a couple of LB's to make an impact. I think it will be a problem for us until we get some athletes at LB.

You can complain about DeHaven all you want, but until we have some better players in depth roles the ST teams are going to be sub-par.

Another factor is that our switch from the Tampa 2 Defence (made up of smaller & faster defenders) to this year's 3-4 defence with bigger linebackers is affecting our coverage teams.

I agree with Dan that building a stronger offence and defence is much more important than special teams. I am willing to relinquish our title of the best special teams team if we can score on offence and make more stops on defence.

Fans that get upset about ST when with the roster size is 75+ players need to find a more productive use of their time, IMO.
