Brandon Graham will be selected 9th

Recommended Posts

Now hear me out, Brandon Graham will be our pick with the 9th spot overall. If of course, we do not trade the pick to move further down. If anyone remembers last year, Aaron Maybin was not talked about as a popular pick for us and we all know how it was about Orakpo and other players with the 11th pick in mock drafts. Well, Brandon Graham is not only a more productive player than Maybin, but we have more reasons to take him, since we know Schobel only has a couple years left if that. Michigans defense was very flexible in what type of scheme they played. 34 or 43 they played both and Graham played well. Moving into defensive end in a 3 man rush sometimes. This guy just reminds me of a Lamarr Woodley/ Dwight Freeney type of player and its scary how good he can be.

Now, nothing is more important to this league besides quarterbacks than pass-rushers. You can never get enough of these freak athletes! If you think about it besides Maybin who we all know (and I still believe in him) is a questionable pass-rusher in 34. Schobel may do great, but is old and may not even come back (I think he will). Besides those two we have Kelsay (dont think hell make the team this year), Chris Ellis (Jury is still out and thats a generous statement and maybe Kawika who I like more in the middle even though I think he can play anywhere.

In not going to keep beating a dead horse, but I really believe that when we pick if there is not someone on our boards that Buddy feels great about taking, we will go with Graham, in my opinion the guy is a cant miss pick.

Proof is in the pudding...

Being a MI fan I would love Graham to come to Buff he is strong fast and looks so much like Woodley it is scary

When you say

but I really believe that when we pick if there is not someone on our boards that Buddy feels great about taking[/url]

you mean the draftboard looks like some like this:

http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=110848

And you put Brandon Graham as the last option with Trent Williams/McClain/or Brandan Graham

Then I think its a possibility.

I see your:

Proof is in the pudding...

and raise you:

(about 25% of this can be a CJ Spiller highlight\lowlight)

Excellent player. Don't see him at #9.

I see him as a better player than T.Williams/McClain/Spiller

If nothin else he made the two other picks that people say Buffalo might be considering at 9 (Bulaga & Clausen)look pretty bad a couple of times in those high lights .

Good post. I agree with your comparisons of Graham to Woodley and Freeney. I think the guys gonna be a great pro and I would love it if the Bills drafted him. Another positive attribute of BG is his character and work ethic. By all accounts he's a great kid who provided tremendous leadership to his teammates while UM football was going thru it's toughest stretch in decades. GO BLUE!!!

I'd be happy with Graham or Morgan. It would be nice to have the option of taking the first DE/OLB.

I agree with this thinking 100%. Something about top 10 picks makes me feel like we should be able to get the best player at a semi-premier position. You don't get better by taking the 4th OT in the draft in the top 10 unless all four of them look like instant all-stars.

I have said before that I think they will target Morgan (only saying his name because I think he's the best pass rusher, but you can insert whomever you that way about here) unless Okung is still there (QB being the wild card, as they may take one of the top 2 if they're there). The other OTs look like RTs or projects to me (or both) and if we're going to take that type of player, it should be reserved for at least the 2nd round and later.

I want a player that they can use in the first round. Even if Morgan for example might need a year to be a starter, but can still play a role (i.e. rush specialist). I'd really like any player that they felt they integrate into the system on either side of the ball early on in 2010.

What don't you guys get about being 25th or WORSE on offense for 10 years?

I honestly could shiv two gits about the defense at this point, Jauron drafted mostly defense his entire 4 years with Buffalo and they were near LAST against the run every year, and the defense still stunk!

This time every year the "defensive screw brains" come out and clamor for DE's-LB's-DB's and every year they get drafted and every year the team sucks on defense.

Didn't you guys watch the offense struggle all year, and the QB's fail all year...it made me wanna

You defensive clowns got your wish last season with Aaron Maybin, how do you like him? The entire world was puzzled by the Maybin pick when they needed a OT, cept Jauron and his crew of dimwits.

If this team drafts defense with that first pick at #9, then it shows me the mentality has not changed for the Bills and they will continue to be last in the AFC East.

First of all, where are all the Bills fans who don't like anything negative said on this board to flame this post?? You disagree with most of this thread (how dare you?), and then go and predict our great Bills to finish last in the AFC East if they pick defense first? Why, I think I'm supposed to say "I hate you." for being such a negative "fan."

That said, I agree 100% with you!:(

If draft-genius Buddy Nix keeps number 9 and doesn't pick the best QB or best OT on his board, you're right. He's just as stubborn and stupid as Donahoe/Levy/Brandon/Modrak/"Inner Circle" were. In fact, forget QB. I think the only player he should use his #9 pick on is whoever he feels is the best OT on his board....period.

If he trades down, then all bets are off. Trading down would be fine with me for the extra picks, but once you get below the top 10 picks, the OT's most likely will take a huge drop-off. If Buddy trades down, I will just hope he can pick out the very best talent available with his extra picks, since he won't be drafting a real elite player, unless one slips through the cracks or surprises the experts.

what's your beef?

the Bills already signed their answer at LT in Cornell Green

after another off-season, Bell is almost certain to be Pro Bowl caliber

Trent had an epiphany and will also be studly in 2010

and since none of the DL and LBs are capable of playing a 3-4, the entire front 7 needs to overhauled.

the plan is to go 3-13 and have first shot at teh QBs in 2011

too bad the draft will be cancelled by court order due to lack of a CBA

Another Wolverine Fan here and I pretty much agree...I know the Bills have other, more pressing Needs...But I would not be mad at all if they Drafted Graham...The Kid is a Player and no question he reminds me a bit of Dwight Freeney along with Woodley...His motor is incredible...Bills Fans would LOVE Graham in time...I'm sure of it...

Even if what you state is true and the Bills don't need a premier LT (Which I still think they do as bandaids don't work) they could still go WR as they now have no slot receiver or anyone opposite Lee Evans.

Plus ML is wearing out his welcome in Bflo fast, and might be gone by the time pre season starts. I wouldn't be against a WR-RB-OT in any combination of the three as the first 3 picks.

Shoot, I wouldn't even mind if they traded up in the first after the #9 pick to the top 20 to tab Tim Tebow, as long as they get a quality OL-WR-RB with #9.

The offense has sucked long enough in Buffalo, time for a change!

lol nice post. I like Graham a lot. I'd only be happy if we traded down to get him, then focus on offense. Our offense is the reason we are a laughing stock of the NFL. We signed Chan to make sure our offense improves. Now we need some talent to make sure that that happens. Offense at pick 9 if we don't trade down.

I see him as a better player than T.Williams/McClain/Spiller

I put B. Graham right there with Spiller and Williams. And Rolando McClain is a distant distant second. Brandon Graham is hands down a much better prospect than Rolando McClain.

Spiller is a game changer, and game changing RB's warrant top 10 consideration.

I think Trent Williams is the best tackle prospect in this draft. I like him better than Okung. His pass protection is slightly worse than Okung, but his run blocking is so much better, and I think the run blocking aspect is especially important for Gailey's offense. He has some weight and character questions, but based on play alone he's got the edge on Okung. I see Williams off the board at about #6, so I don't think the Bills will have a shot at him.

McClain a slower overhyped ILB in the Top 10!!!???? Pass, we can find one of those guys in rounds 2-4. I've raved about Donald Butler before (who I believe is a better prospect than McClain) and he should be there for the Bills pick in round 2 maybe 3.

Let me ask you guys this question.............if Graham and Morgan are both there at #9 who would you rather have? That'd be a real tough one, because I like them both.
