Alex Barron, OT Available For A 2nd Rounder

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I haven't heard much good about the guy. Considering how young he is, the fact they are trying to give up a former first round OT speaks volumes. Maybe for a low rounder but not a 2nd.

Exactly. Look at where they drafted him and they are willing to give up on a young LT for a 2nd rounder? Pass.

Has blocked for Steven Jackson, started 72 games in his career at LT and RT.

Please take Alex Barron off our hands. Barron is a knucklehead. Watching him on the sidelines during a game, he's always by himself, never gets "into" the game. He's just there for the paycheck. May your coaches can light a fire under his arse, but i doubt it. His game is basketball.

70th best tackle in football out of 77 right and left tackles according to profootballfocus.

That puts him one spot worse than Bushrod, who was 69th best, and 4 spots ahead of Demetrius Bell, who was 74th. Don't see that as a big improvement.

Arrange it by pass blocking only, and he's 60th out of 77. Run blocking? 56th out of 77. Doesn't really seem to have a specialty. Penalties? Tied for dead last, tied for 76th out of 77 (meaning he had the most penalties) with Bell.

My feeling? No wonder they wanted to draft a tackle last year, picking up Jason Smith, who is the reason he's available.

Looks like an overwhelming nae. Just thought it was an interesting topic, I definitely don't want him here either for a 2nd. I'm still hoping the Bills make a run at Levi Jones early in free agency, even if it's just backup depth.

Not me. Jones is ranked even below Barron and even below ... gasp ... Bell.

Mind you, Bell was below everybody, dead last when he was injured. On the bench Bell stopped accumulating negative scores and three guys continued and drifted below him, including Levi Jones, who ended up tied for 75th out of 77. Only one guy below him.

No thanks to either guy.
