  1. What? He is just as used to practicing against them!
  2. I see this kind of quote often, but I'm not sure what it means. Does it mean you tell them "we have a guy on the practice squad that CAN do this job, Marcel!" or "we are gonna sign a guy off the street soon. If you're not careful, you are gonna end up a free agent, free to sign with any team that might need a starter, Mario!" It's not like replacing a retail store manager, or a bank teller.
  3. I don't buy that the defense was doing that great of a job in the first half. It felt like the Pats were on the verge of putting it together to me. But regardless, the Bills needed to commit to stopping the run OR stopping the pass. That is the only way to at least anticipate what the offense is going to lean on . Instead the defense was playing on it's heels, and didn't stop anything.
  4. That's not good enough. It sounds nice, "high motor" all that jazz, but I don't turn off the TV and think "well the boys gave it all they had, but came up short again, just like the last 10 years". He is a liability on the field. A negative,...a weak link...a target. I don't care if a guy barely tries if that is all that is needed to win. I believe the team puts in the effort, but they don't seem to know how to compensate for the weaknesses of the team (all teams have them). Coaching. High Expectations. Working as a Unit.
  5. Seriously, I haven't heard his radio show. Did anyone ask him why they stuck with that defense?
  6. Was Gailey questioned about why the defense stayed with their nickel package?
  7. I agree that the biggest problems for this team are mental. I don't believe that the talent level is that different from most teams around the league, that they should go 10 years without making the playoffs.
  8. How about this stat: 5 unanswered touchdowns at home A good offense responds when the other team scores, a bad offense responds when the other team scores 5 touchdowns in a row. If you wanna look up stats, try that one.
  9. "after 4 weeks the Buffalo Bills offense has the 5th most points in the league" Great! Now I feel better!
  10. It would be nice to know which teams with grass fields he is losing to. Might be more important than the grass even...
  11. They got more from the players they had. Or maybe they greased more palms back then....I don't know.
  12. I would think after all his time with the Bills, and your incredible respect for the guy, that you would have learned how to spell his name.
  13. Gee, only 3! What a curse, poor guy. I don't know how he has lasted this long.
  14. I don't think so, because one of the few guys to have big success as a Bill (Bruce Smith), ate plenty of them. Maybe it's the Chippewa Strip that is ruining the current teams. I think before it was redeveloped the Bills were doing okay.
  15. Not sure why, maybe RW Stadium was built with the same toxic concrete and gravel that Niagara Falls used to pave their street and sidewalks. Maybe the fans bad vibrations are effecting the entire organization. Maybe Zarathustra hates Buffalo, or the NFL doesn't want Buffalo to win so they can easily move the team. Maybe the coaching sucks. Maybe the owner is terrible.... on and on. But I don't believe that the Bills talent has been as bad as the records have been for the last 10 years.
  16. The abuse Whitner gets on this board is silly. He is doing well, and is a leader on a team that plays with tons of heart. His comments about the 49ers are him comparing his experience with the Bills to his current situation, even if that isn't his intent. These are the only 2 teams he can really compare. This team is the black hole of the NFL, and I don't believe that the talent level here is that much worse than the rest of the league. It's something else...
  17. All this talk about the Spiller fumble being the back breaker is ridiculous. They had a 14 point lead at halftime. Sure, a team can get a bit discouraged, but they have to be tougher than that. "Waaah, waah, we only have a 14-point lead now", really? There was 2 touchdowns worth of cushion to work with, and plenty of time to regain the momentum, but they just fell apart.
  18. They play on their heels. There was no reason not to take some chances. They need to make Brady at least consider that something out of the ordinary might happen. It never did. Wannstedt just said "here's our defense, let's see ya beat it", then Brady repeatedly threw the same punches, and knocked the D around like a rag doll. Is there not one player on the defense with enough athleticism to take some chances with? I have to believe there is a guy that, if given a chance, can wreak a little havoc now and then.
  19. The guy's name is "GENO"! I'm not a big stickler for grammar and spelling, but I think if you want to appear to know something about a player, you should at least know his name. "Geno" isn't hard to get right.
  20. I would prefer if they just dropped Wannstadt entirely. Mangini might be a good choice. You have some good points.
  21. I agree with everything here, but to say that players were gassed seems a bit much. They were on the field all day. I think the conditioning is fine, but everything else...not fine. They have enough talent to work with, but it's not happening for some reason and I gotta look at the coaching at this point.
  22. Team is spinning wheels without a top shelf QB. 8-8 looks possible....yay!
  23. I'm waiting to hear how Mario Williams is playing with some kind of nagging injury.
  24. I don't consider myself to be "knee-jerk", and I agree. The Pats were setting records out there.
