  1. Thanks! You're right about McDermott and how the Bills looked against the Jets in the second matchup. It makes me wonder how the Bills will do against the Dolphins in two weeks (hopefully not a repeat of the Steelers game from 2004). You're missing the point. The Patriots are obviously doing things much better against the Bills in the second divisional matchup. Whether that is because the Patriots coaches are that much smarter than the Bills coaches; the Bills coaches are not changing things up when it comes to the second matchup, combination of both or there's much more to it.
  2. While I'd love to see the Bills beat the Patriots at Foxboro in a meaningful game and one in which the Patriots starters play the entire game, the odds of that happening are not good. Since 2001, the Bills have fared better in the first divisional matchup against the Patriots than in the second game. Here are the scores from the first divisional games against the Patriots since 2001: 11-21; 7-38; 31-0 (Bills win); 17-31; 16-21; 17-19; 7-38; 10-20; 24-25; 30-38; 34-31 (W); 28-52; 21-23; 22-37; 32-40; 16-0 (W). In that time span, the Patriots scored 434 points compared to 323 for the Bills, leaving a 111 point difference. Here are the scores from the second divisional games against the Patriots since 2001: 9-12; 17-27; 0-31; 6-29; 7-35; 6-28; 10-56; 0-13; 10-17; 3-34; 21-49; 31-37; 20-34; 17-9 (W); 13-20; 25-41. In that time span, the Patriots scored 472 points (38 more than the first divisional games) compared to 195 for the Bills (128 points less), leaving a 277 point difference (166 greater than the first divisional games). Part of the problem in the past when it came to the second divisional game vs the Patriots, the Bills coaches/players did not alter their offensive and defensive signals which made it easier for the Patriots to pick up. I hope McDermott and his coaches are smart enough to change things up for this game. I hope history does not repeat itself and the Bills get the win on Sunday, but past history has shown the second game against the Patriots have been worse for the Bills.
  3. Long overdue. Hopefully, the Bills can draft (or sign via FA) two more LB's that can cover and tackle well. I agree with others that Alexander should be moved to DE. He's a much better pass rusher than he is an OLB.
  4. At the moment, it appears we have six more years of potential winter football to deal with, maybe longer if there's a short-term lease to extend playing at RWS. I heard tickets were dirt cheap for yesterday's game, so I'm sure the Pegula's will have to take that into consideration when it comes to planning the next Bills stadium.
  5. I get what you're saying about the Colts (a domed team) taking a "cold weather team" to the limits in the snow, but the Bills lost their starter early on in the 3rd quarter and had to use their third QB, who's mainly a special teams player. If Peterman stays in, it's possible the Bills put up more points in regulation and the game wouldn't have went into OT. I miss the days of being able to play football in the snow and coming home all muddy. I enjoyed watching the game yesterday as it brought back a lot of memories from growing up in Buffalo. I agree with your points about the NFL wanting everyone (elderly and handicap included) to be at the games come December and January. Should be interesting to see what takes place between and 2023 when the lease at New Era Field is up. Will the Pegula's build a stadium next to the New Era Field or will it be downtown? And will the new stadium have a dome?
  6. Disagree. Last year, Bills players on both offense and defense were slipping all over the field, not just on the lines.
  7. That's good to hear. One thing I remember hearing McDermott wanting control of was equipment, so I'm glad to see him have that attention to detail. Have you thawed out from the game yet?
  8. I didn't say the game was great, play calling and game decisions are a different story. Peterman's decision to slide (and no penalty on the helmet-to-helmet hit), no screen passes, punting on 4th and 1 with four minutes left in OT and wasting a time out. Thank you!
  9. That's all they've been going on about all morning long. I think the horse is dead.
  10. Back in the Bills Superbowl era, playing in the snow used to be an advantage for the Bills. During the playoff drought, I noticed whenever it came to snow games, the Bills looked terrible as they slipped and fell down throughout the games. Last year comes to mind when the Bills played the Steelers at home, the Bills were slipping and falling all over the field while Steelers had on the right equipment to play in the inclement weather. Yesterday, it was nice to see the Bills better equipped to play in the snow than in years past. Hopefully this continues with McDermott and the WNY weather gives the Bills the advantage.
  11. Bills mainly used Goodwin as a deep threat. If we had smarter OC’s, they could have used him better.
  12. Lose out, get the higher draft pick. Bills need a franchise QB.
  13. Instead of winning by one, the Colts can lose it by one.
  14. Hope Peterman is okay. Considering the weather, Peterman has been playing good.
  15. Whoever gets a TD will win. I can’t imagine either team getting a FG or seeing multiple TD’s in this game.
  16. The weather looks worse than the Browns/Bills Blizzard game from ten years ago.
  17. I disagree. IMO, the way the Bills should of reacted was how the Seahawks did in this video:
  18. I forget who the Dolphins were playing earlier this year, Kiko Alonso blasted a player after he slid feet first, the O-lineman blasted Alonso hard to the ground twice. That’s the kind of thing some of the Bills defenders should have done to Gronkowski after his cheap shot. IMO, by not retailiating, it made the Bills look weak, especially playing at home.
  19. Good article on the whole situation. Seems Buffalo players let Boston players get away with taking liberties and do nothing in return. http://www.billsmafia.com/2017/12/06/bills-sink-anger-usual/
  20. I agree with Jim and Aaron Williams that the Bills should have retaliated against Gronkowski. IMO, this is worse than the Milan Lucic hit on Ryan Miller.
