  1. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/10/11/1744263/jaguars-36-bills-26-bills-week-5-game-ball The only way Ralph is really going to do anything to get this team turned around is by having a low attendance at the games, plus more bagheads from those that do show up. The big one is the low attendance (obviously). Hit Ralph in the pocket book and quit buying his garbage, make him finally have to make some drastic changes at OBD.
  2. Does Ferragamo come in after the bye week?
  3. Back in 85', the Bills started out 0-6 under Hank Bullough and finished the season at 2-14. Looking at the schedule, the only teams that the Bills might have a chance against are Detroit and Cleveland, so at best, the Bills could finish this season at 2-14. But it is very likely that the Bills could join the Lions as the only other team to be winless at 0-16. How does our defense go from looking sub-par/decent in one season, to absolutely pitiful the next? I hope this is George Edwards' one and only season as Bills defensive coordinator. With Gailey, why does he always abandon the run, especially when he is having success at it? I still can't believe that 25 years later, it's deja vu all over again. Are Gailey & Edwards actually Stephenson and Bullough?
  4. What happens when Ralph dies...just like any other person that dies, he will either be buried in a cemetery or cremated.
  5. Good points. Since this is a rebuilding year and if the offense doesn't look good this week against the Jags, then Gailey should go with Brohm after the bye week. What scares me about Brohm is that he is yet to throw a TD (either in preseason or the regular season). I know Brohm has potential and we'll never know how good he'll be until we see him under center.
  6. Hangartner will be on the line somewhere, maybe at guard or at center. The only reason is because he was named an offensive captain (yes, so was Edwards and he got canned, but why would they nominate Hangartner one of the captains if he wasn't going to start?)
  7. Great post and evaluation Alpha! Denver got two 2nd rounders for Marshall and Arizona got a 3rd and 4th for Boldin. IMO, I think the Bills could get a deal for Evans somewhere close to what Arizona got Boldin. If the Bills decide to move Evans, it should be in the offseason, not now. Since the Bills are stockpiling their picks, they should get as many as possible. I understand your point about having a veteran WR to help out a rookie QB, so in that case, the Bills should sign a journeyman WR for a couple of years (in the offseason) to help out the rookie QB. IMO, Evans has given up on the Bills and his play on the field has shown it. It's a shame, because the guy is not a troublemaker or a locker room cancer, but then again, who can blame the guy considering the incompetence that has gone on during Evans' tenure in Buffalo.
  8. I'm all for trading Evans but not within the division.
  9. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/120794-trade-or-cut-evans-and-whitner/ I agree. It's either Evans has given up on the Bills and is not trying hard, or he's declining. So far this year, he has 10 rec for 94 yds (in 4 games), you expect much more from a guy you're paying $9+ million a year to.
  10. I agree with your post. But if I were in Nix's position, I would be demading much more return from my $9+ million dollar a year investment. Maybe a change of scenery would do wonders to revive Evans' career. But, who is willing to take on Evans' contract? The team needs a lot more talent and one more draft/offseason is not going to fix it.
  11. Alpha - While I do respect your opinion on here a lot, I do disagree about Evans. Evans has never been a #1 WR and the Bills wrongly overpaid him. In the Moulds/Price combo, Evans would be Price. The #2 CB was covering Evans yesterday and shut him down. How bad is it going to look against Revis? As for the double coverage, Lee doesn't have the physical capability to shed the double coverage like a true #1 WR can. How does Evans go from making amazingly athletic tip-toed TD's in the endzone from a few years ago, to dropping easily catchable balls? Look at the five reasons that I gave above, I bet the answer is there. With your QB comparison, you have Fitz rated above Losman. With Losman, Evans had seasons of 1,292 yards and 1,017 yards receiving. But yet, Evans has been posting his lowest numbers to date with a higher rated QB? That doesn't make sense? (See the 5 reasons I stated)
  12. Not this again. Heard the "walk out ideas" last year. If you really want to send a message, either stop going to the games and stop buying the merchandise or wear a paperbag on your head at the game. Those are the only ways you're gonna get anything done.
  13. ONE BAD GAME?! EVANS = Ferarri?! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! I didn't know you were a comedian! Thanks for the laugh! Evans was more like a Pontiac Soltice. This year, he's been playing like a Ford Pinto. Just to prove my point, lets look at the Evans' stats: 2010 4-34 0-0 5-54 1-6 Bringing his 4 game total to a whopping 10 receptions, for a mind boggling 94 yards and 0 TD's. That's 23.5 yards per game for a #1 WR, that's making $9+ million a year. If Evans were to continue that stat total for the rest of the year, he would finish with: 40 receptions and 376 yards. Okay, back to the facts. In 2009, Terrell Owens was suppose to take some of the double coverage off of Evans to get Evans more open. Let's see how Evans did in 2009: 3-25 1-32 1TD 4-31 2-60 2-11 4-68 1TD 5-75 1TD 2-29 4-50 2TD 1-15 2-40 1-38 1-11 3-35 1TD 5-43 4-49 1TD So that's 44 receptions, 612 yards and 7 TD's. So that's 38.25 yards per game. So you're "ONE BAD GAME" is a bunch of crap. Look at the stats, there are multiple bad games up there. Here's the mostly likely scenarios of why Evans numbers are this horrible: 1. Evans played hard until he got the contract extension during the 2008 season. Evans stats that year, 63 receptions for 1,017 yards. After the big payday, Evans decided he got the fat paycheck and doesn't need to play that hard anymore. 2. Evans is straight line deep threat and the guy who could constantly throw him the deep pass (also was Evans' friend) J.P. Losman's last year on the team was in 2008. Either Evans only play is the deep pass or Evans is disgruntled about Losman and hasn't been trying hard for the Bills QB's. 3. Just like Peerless Price, Evans is starting to lose his elusive speed. 4. Evans is tired of losing and has given up on the team 5. Any Combination of the above.
  14. I like Johnson where he is now, a possession receiver. Granted, he's had some drops, but look at how bad Josh Reed looked his first few years in Buffalo. I think Johnson can be much better than Reed. I do like Nelson's potential. I'd like to see Gailey go with Nelson as the #1, Parrish as the #2 and Johnson as the #3 for the rest of the year. Maybe with Shawn Nelson returning this week from suspension, that will help get the tight ends open and more involved in the game. Long term, the Bills do need a legitmate #1 WR. I'd love to see the Bills make a play for Vincent Jackson.
  15. So you're saying at the end of the season, the Bills shouldn't try and get a real #1 WR and either trade Evans or cut him. Did you watch Evans play yesterday? He dropped two passes that should have been easily caught. He's getting paid $9+ million a year to be a #1 WR, there's no excuse for his poor play. Evans doesn't go over the middle. He doesn't fight the DB when the ball is inaccurately thrown. He doesn't go back to help out his QB. All Evans is, is a straight line deep threat. Once Evans' buddy Losman was sent the door, Evans stopped playing as hard and his stats have shown that. So please, keep making the excuses for him, Evans and his $9+ million a year salary needs you to. Cromartie held Evans to 1 rec, 6 yards, what's it going to look like when Revis is covering Evans?
  16. LMAO at stick-um!! I agree that Evans has given up on the Bills. I feel bad for Fitz as he was trying hard to get the team back in the game. Ever since Evans buddy Losman was sent packing, Evans production has dropped off. Is he pissed about the Bills getting rid of his buddy?
  17. Evans had 1 rec for 6 yards against Cromartie. Revis will easily shutout Evans. And this is a guy the Bills are paying $9+ million a year for?
  18. If he doesn't do something to resolve the problems on defense then yes. IMO, there aren't enough playmakers on offense. The Bills need a QB, RT, 2 WR's and a TE. Evans needs to go. If anyone thinks he earned his $563K game check today, then they're smoking something.
  19. Did you even watch the game today? Evans gave up. Two passes that should have been easily caught and Evans dropped them. Enough of the excuses for Evans already, he's given up on the Bills and should either be traded or cut in the offseason. If you can honestly say Evans earned his $563K game check today, then you're smoking something.
  20. Considering an UDFA and a former 7th rounder both outplayed a former 1st round draft pick, $9+ million a year, supposed #1 WR, I'd say there's some serious changes that need to take place.
  21. I agree with you & Hamdan, shakeups are going to happen. I wouldn't doubt if they started this week. IMO, George Edwards has done a terrible job with the defense so far this year. Besides the season opener, the defense has gotten their butts handed to them the past 3 games. Hate to say it, but I'd rather have Perry Fewell & the bend-don't-break Tampa 2 defense back right now.
  22. Evans dropped balls that should have been easily caught, so if he's quitting on the team, demote him to being a #5 WR and give guys like Nelson & Johnson a chance at the Top 2 WR positions. It's disgusting knowing Evans is making $9+ million a year (563k a game) and it looks like he's quitting on the team. I feel bad for Fitzpatrick on the other players on the team that are playing hard and are trying to win.
  23. That's why I said "in the offseason". There's not much the Bills can do now, so they have to wait until then.
  24. Today, Evans finished the game with 1 reception for 6 yards and dropped some easy catches today. But, he still made $563,000 for todays game. Yet, UDFA David Nelson had 4 receptions for 75 yards and former 7th round pick Stevie Johnson had 3 receptions for 31 yards and 1 Touchdown (also, this is Johnson's second week in a row with a TD). So, I want to know from all the Evans lovers out there, what's the excuse for Evans now? Captain Checkdown is gone and Fitzpatrick is throwing the ball to Evans, but he's still not getting the job done. Evans should give his $563,000 game check and split it between Fitzpatrick, Nelson and Johnson. I hope Nix and Gailey realize that Evans is a one-trick pony, a straight line deep threat. Either trade him in the offseason or cut him loose. I'm just wondering why George Wilson hasn't been starting? After Whitner's pathetic performance today, Wilson should be put back in as starter. Wilson proved last year that he is a better playmaking, ballhawking safety than Whitner. All Whitner has done has shown that he's a tough talker on twitter. Trade him or cut him loose as well.
