  1. Mostly, I'm disappointed in myself since I allowed myself to be suckered yet again!
  2. Actually, there are several people that I love, none of whom I want coaching the Bills....
  3. Well, I gotta' agree w/ zow2. Business-wise, that strategy makes a great deal of sense. Jauron has survived three 7 - 9 seasons, even got rewarded after the third one, so why not keep him around 'til it makes marketing sense to make a change. That, and given it is blatantly obvious that no one at the top of OBD really cares about wins, fans, etc. for the remainder of the 2009 - 2010 season.
  4. The best predicter of tomorrow is yesterday....
  5. Interesting debate. It highlights the point that I've been making all along: The Buffalo Bills "company" is a lucrative venture and there is absolutely no incentive to upgrade the product the "company" produces! The product is sold out even before it is produced--year after year. Nothing succeeds like success!
  6. you ever complained about the Steinbrenners paying big money to field the best Yankee teams possible, you are no longer eligible to complain about Ralph, et. al., not fielding a top-notch team with successful, experienced coaches
  7. The Buffalo Bills are a business. If you watched the game you saw all the seats filled at the beginning of the game; therefore, the business is successful in Brandon's mind. When all the product run for an entire year is sold, the business is successful! When the product is sold even beefore it is made, the business is successful! Why ever would a businessman want to make a change?
  8. Yes, Ralph is on record as saying the Bills will be in Buffalo. He is also "on record" [see Bills win - loss record] as being more concerned with the bottom line than the on-field product. I'm not in a position to believe nor disbelieve the court room conversation reported above. I do firmly believe that actions speak louder than words: Ralph's actions regarding coaching, front office administration and on-field personnel are based on fiscal return, not football success.
  9. CodeMonkey is absolutely right; but people will still pay for tickets like voters continue to elect incumbents!
  10. Well, I guess that takes any sense of "noble" out of the Nobel Prize.
  11. I'm not sure how to quantify the "Can't find a jobbers." Nor how to compare and contrast their numbers with the "I don't want no stinkin' jobbers." When you and I provide a certain level of support to a great number for whom having no job is, to them, a good thing; I wan't work harder to feel real pain for them.
  12. Continuing to buy Bills tickets has a lot in common with continuing to elect incumbents...If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got! When a company (Buffalo Bills) has sold an entire years worth of product (tickets to eight + games worth of seats), prior to even completing production; what incentive is there for the management to worry about the quality of the product yet to be delivered? And don't even try to tell me that the consumers (fans) will stop purchasing the product; history has proved that ain't gonna' happen...7-9, 7-9, 7-9.... Once more with feeling: If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got!
  13. Sorry guys, not good enough to explain why the President who goes everywhere to say everything to everyone won't muster up the stones to appear on FOX. (Yeah, I know, it's his people that run the campaign trail show.) If the FOX talking heads are so bad, won't the President shine in their presence?
  14. that the President won't appear on FOX network? If FOX is really the #1 cable news network in viewership; and if the President believes part of his role is to communicate his policies and objectives to the nation; and if the President truly believes in non-partisan politics; and if the President wants to engage the nation in meaningful debate on a range of topics; then....
  15. So, s'pose a guy is on death row...how does he decide which religion to suddenly embrace? If his jailers are Moslem, does he embrace Islam? If he's in prison in Arizona does he subscribe to the infallability of Il Papa? Does Baptist immersion carry the day in an Alabama slamma'? Is religion in the 21st Century as situational as it seems? Do the Gideons make Bibles available in every cell?
  16. Jimmy Carter is a doofus. His name should be added to wiki as a poster boy for the doofus concept. He was a doofus in office, remains a doofus to this day, and would garner much more respect if he stuck to pounding nails w/ HFH. Thinking of JC [similarity of initials is purely coincidental] as the world's election mentor is just downright funny. He has finally found his niche; don't let him verify the Peter Principle by trying to do or talk about anything else.
  17. Ralph Wilson owns, and Russ Brandon manages, a business venture entitled The Buffalo Bills. The product they turn out sells extremely well. Seats are flying off the shelves. The company has almost sold out of this years production run, no matter the quality of the product. The company is making money even in tough economic times. So the company gets some bad ink; bad ink is better than no ink at all. Why on earth would any owner, or manager, want to make ANY changes?
  18. Fans aren't toadies who only see the glass half full; fans are discerning, put their money where their mouth is, and are entitled to criticize as they see fit.
  19. Put me in the "not" column for this one: 1. Bills lost the game; 2. Bills ran far fewer offensive plays; 3. Bills had less time of possession; 4. Bills didn't "close the sale" when it counted; 5. Bills exhibited their perennial inability to cover receivers.
  20. Did any of you watch the preseason games? Did you watch yesterday's games? In the context of some of yesterday's games, could you see the Bills actually competing with those teams? Did you watch any of the NFL coaches and notice some semblance of animation, a sense of being in the game moment? Given the phenominal ticket sales, do you really think Ralph and Russ even care about the quality of the on-field product...a product that has been paid for up front, but as in the past decade, won't ever be delivered....? Would you rather see the Bills continue to fumble, bumble and throw wild in Buffalo under Ralph's ownership; or be sold, reorganized and moved to another city with a real chance to do things differently?
  21. Once again: Vote for challengers, not incumbents! Turn out Massa, turn out Paterson, turn out every incumbent in every elected office until those who do run for office understand we're mad as hell and not going to take it any more...and when they show signs of same old, same old; turn them out, too. Don't try to separate the good 'uns from the poor 'uns, just turn every single incumbent OUT of office over and over until the current alliances, liasons, back room deals, and other such shady occurrences are weeded out. If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got....
  22. In paragraph four, substitute the word "left" for the word "right" then remember that BO has to live with this powerful group in his party. There aren't any Joe Lieberman's left in the Democratic Party.
  23. It is the objective of the current administration that there be sufficient underwear in each family so that when the next economic wedgie is administered all will feel the pinch....
  24. IMO don't evaluate, don't "give 'em a chance to fix it," don't fall prey to the siren call of the red-breasted incumbent. Just identify EVERY incumbent and vote for their opponents! Jesus, how far &*^%ed over do we have to get before we realize those in office don't give a fiddler's &*^% about the hewers of wood and the drawers of water? Vote the bastards out! Fix Government
