No...they won the AFL championship back to back years, the first SB appearance was magical when they destroyed the Raiders 51-3 in the AFCG... It was a good day but it wasn't even as good as when they demolished the Pats in the playoffs with the only perfect offensive game in NFL history... Plus when they win the SB in a few months that will trump all else anyway...

It's probably a week to week thing with matchups as far as maybe wanting an extra player on D active or whatever... I would expect a lot of matchup specific inactives...like perhaps AJE being inactive in favor of Lawson to help set the edge on Henry.

Jefferson and Thielen, Chase and Higgins, Kupp and Robinson(although didn't show it last night), Hill and Waddle and a few others I am forgetting may disagree with that, but I think Davis is going to be a breakout star this year.

Every QB has bad games during the season...Mahomes had quite a few last year also.

Far from it, but the domination of the other team(who happened to be the reigning SB Champ btw) even while a lot of improvements can be made was stunning.

It's crazy how not seeing the punter all game other than holding for Bass is starting to become the norm and not even brought up much anymore...if they have to punt more than once a game you are kinda like "WTF is going on today?"

The other thing that really is interesting to me is that he doesn't have prototypical "deep" speed with a 4.54 40 yard time, but he gets open deep a LOT and has one of the highest YPC in the NFL over the past 2 years(minimum 25 catches), averaging 16.7 YPC, which is 7th best in the league among WR's...one of those players that play faster than their 40 time and really understands how to set up DB's to be able to get open deep.

They weren't allowing the Rams to score or get any kind of momentum from it. We aren't here to be "nice", we are here to kick your ass, shove you down to the ground and make you stick your tongue out and lick the dog poop.

Ehh...I didn't love the runs when they were up late in the game, but Allen is going to do what he does...just have to live with it. He typically doesn't take those type of hits like he did last night. It's like he was wanting to send a message to both the Rams and his teammates to set the tone for this season....that he was going to do whatever he had to do to win. Kinda like he said after McDermott's postgame speech when he broke the team down. "It doesn't matter how we get the win, only that we get the f*****g win!!"

Nah, you just don't understand football as well as you think.

They paid all that money and what have the Redskins to show for it now? Didn't even get any draft picks they could have used to replace him.

The way Davis catches the ball is just so...awesome. I don't really know how else to even say it or describe it. I'm not sure I have ever been enamored with the way a WR catches the ball like I have with the way Davis does it...it even LOOKS amazing. It's like he vacuums the ball into his hands...perfect hand catches almost every time. Coaches could literally take clips of him catching the ball and use it in training sessions on how to catch the football properly. And it isn't just the Rams game, its been time after time, game after game...his hands are just unreal in terms of catching the ball away from his body with them. I don't know if others appreciate this nuance of his game, but to me, this is a masterclass of catching the ball properly at the highest possible level. I'm hard pressed to even think of another player who I have ever seen do it with such consistency as he does.

Part of me wonders if LJ isn't getting pissed at the narrative that he can't play QB like other guys do and a special offense has to be built around him. Maybe he wants to go somewhere else and try and prove that he can be effective in a normal offense. I don't think he will be because I think he is limited in what he can do as a QB due to lack of arm strength to push the ball outside the numbers on deeper throws, but I wouldn't be surprised if he really thinks he can and is irritated and wants to show everyone else that.

I agree with all that. That doesn't mean it gives Crowder a free pass not to come back to the ball on that throw. It actually makes it MORE important he do so, not less.

I mean you aren't wrong, but if he goes to FA, someone is going to make him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

I can guarantee Chad Hall is going to give him the business for letting Hill undercut that route and cross his face. That's a huge no no for a WR on a crossing route.
