  1. I don't see why the Rams would trade him only two years after signing a very reasonable contract.
  2. I'm sure he's got some sleeper potential, but I don't think comparing him to one of the game's best DTs in Tommie Harris is appropriate. I do however think he could go a little sooner though, maybe fourth round.
  3. Um, Beerball, you better PRAY he's our third round pick. If I had a gun to my head and had to choose whether we'd select him in the first round or the third round, I would say, without hesitation, first round. Obviously, I don't agree with that. But it is just that feeling I have....
  4. Same here. I have a few close friends over that get into it as much as I do. I must say, I did not like the changes to the draft one bit last year. I know the old method was excessively long and drawn out, but last year felt very rushed. Heck, midway through the second round they stopped going to the podium for each pick. And being just round one and two (with the shorter selection times), Day One blew by. I like a lot of what Goodell has done. But the changes to the draft?
  5. Hmmm, I'm going to guess Brian Cushing and Vontae Davis. Pure speculation on my part though...
  6. Unquestionably. I think Michael Crabtree will be a tremendous player, but based on the Bills' circumstances and needs, we cannot justify taking him in the first round if he fell to us. If you can trade our first and a third for Philadelphia's two picks, you do it all day long.
  7. I love the draft waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much to spend it with people that would rather participate in "activities" than focus on the picks. BTW - I know that my love for the draft is a sickness
  8. Couple of things... I like your scenarios. I don't necessarily agree with them, but I love seeing ideas. - I really don't think Paul Kruger is still going to be around in the third round, especially witht he 3-4 sprouting up everywhere - Lawrence Sidbury Jr. kind of falls in the same category as Kruger, but I could see him being a high 2nd round pick. He's got a lot of upside. - In scenario 1 or the scenario in your sig, I would rather snag C Alex Mack. I feel pretty confident that he'll be there. This year's crop of Cs is much better than last year, so I think teams will wait a little bit before they start taking them. - I actually see scenario 2 as very likely, if Sanchez is on the board. Granted, if we make the pick New York could try to trade with Denver after us, but you never know. The wild card in that scenario is Washington. New York cannot assume that they will not take Sanchez. It is very possible. So if Sanchez falls, anything can happen. In fact, I could see a trade along the lines of their first, a third this year, and a third next year. From Buffalo's perspective, they'll still get as good a player at 17 as they can at 11, and they'll pick up two extra picks. For the Jets, if they really believe Sanchez is going to be a great QB, giving up two 3rds is nothing. Under that scenario, it makes you wonder: If the Bills believe Sanchez will be a great QB, would they be willing to let a division rival draft him, getting only two 3rds in return? Probably not. Then again, they might be able to do the same deal with Denver one spot later, and Belichick's boy will surely jump at extra picks.
  9. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but I couldn't stand him on the field. If he wasn't goofing around he was getting blown off the ball by a nose tackle.
  10. It's painfully obvious that the Bills have struck a deal to get Salt 'N Peppa out of retirement to do the anthem before our season opener and hopefully some type of Jock Jam to get the crowd riled up. Nothing from Thurman's comments would indicate anything other than this to me.
  11. I would say 99.9% of the time I had any discussion on the annual Patriot beatdowns. But in this case, I like it. Like a few have said, anything can happen in Week 1. Brady will almost certainly show some rust. Both teams will be amped up. I say let's do it. Worst thing that happens is we get blown out (AGAIN) by the Pats. What else is new then?
  12. How long before ProFootballTalk runs with this story to continue the smear campaign against T.O.? I would say in about 3... 2... 1...
  13. That does not "end" anything. Just because WADE PHILLIPS said Doug would have won the game, does not mean that that is definitively what would have happened. The correct answer is we'll never know.
  14. In the battle of Flutie Vs. Johnson, I leaned on the Johnson side. But in all fairness, Flutie produced the regular season wins to get us into the playoffs.
  15. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4005534 His fate is sealed approximately 45 seconds into the video
  16. Why not? Sometimes members get a little silly on this board, but in this instance, I say flame on.
  17. It is not a totally usless metric. In the case of Larsen, he was a better World's Strongest Man competitor than football player. But if you get an offensive lineman doing less than 20 reps, you should be worried about how he will hold up against the likes of Wilfork, Ferguson and Jenkins. It can be very useful.
  18. Hey! I take offense to that
  19. I understand your thinking, but there is a lot that goes into trade value. A second might be Peppers' value because he is 29 and has a franchise tag applied to him. So going against Carolina is his age (not necessarily a deterent, but it doesn't help), cap number, and his desire to be moved. With Cassel, he's a younger QB, but he was counting against the Pats' cap at $14M. That's a HUGE cap number during the early days of FA for a guy you plan on trading. So when I look at everything, I think the Broncos will be able to get a second or third for Scheffler. He turned 26 a month ago. There are no free agent TE's of significance available. So I think you start at a second round pick and maybe work them down to a third round pick and another later pick (maybe a fifth next year or a sixth this year).
  20. I read "The Blind Side," which was very good. But it also caused me to be leary of Oher. He has certainly overcome a lot, but I think the jump from college football to the NFL is going to be very large. And he won't have quite the support staff he had at Ole Miss. I certainly like the two guys ahead of him (Smith and Monroe) more.
  21. I'm in the minority, but I think I draft Ray Maualuga at 11. People can say that he's not great in coverage and he doesn't wrap up enough, but he's a playmaker. We have enough solid guys. We need more playmakers. So this pick kind of feeds off of Owens. But I think he could make an immediate impact on the defense.
  22. Wow, Mort just won't let it go. I used to think Bills fans were overly sensitive towards Mort, but now we're entering our fourth offseason since Donahoe's firing. Mort needs to move on. Ralph owns the team. He can do whatever he wants.
  23. Woo hoo, I also made the cut
  24. And that my friend is why you are not the GM. Why would you pay him $9M this year when no other teams are interested? Wherever he signs, he'll get an incentive-laden contract
  25. I don't think June is going through the motions. He's a LB who's best days are probably behind him. He needs work.
