Interesting article. The majority of NFL players wear the Riddell Revolution series (the 360 and the Revo Speed) that came out a few years back. They replaced the older style helmets that had a foam interior with a full gel interior. You can also customize them to the players head alot better than the old style. I have a good friend who sells Riddell in the mid-atlantic region, so he's assigned to the Ravens, Redskins, Eagles, and a bunch of D-1 Universities as well. He said that most teams now really push their players to this style since they are so much safer. Even the high schools that have some money are starting to buy these to help cut down on head injuries. The 360 is sick. I've tried these on a few times, and the difference is night and day when comparing the newer helmets to the older ones that most grew up with. You can shake your head as violently as you can, and it literally will not move when its fitted to your head properly. Other brands like Rawlings, Schutt, etc are options, but he said that Riddell has about a 95% stranglehold on the NFL and about 85% of D-1 schools. Penn State was actually one of the bigger Universities that have used Schutt, but they're account was just assigned to him now, so they'll be in Riddell this year for the first time ever. It'll be interesting to see if the Xenith will be able to break into the market with this one.

Center Oline - who starts opening day?
Billadelphia replied to zazie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry for the delay, but yes, Wood, Levitre & Rinehart were at McFaddens in Philly for day 2 of the draft this year. I asked him about his knee and how he's been doing (and this could have been a canned answer), but he said that he's been running since Jan and in the weight room and that he'll be ready by opening day. He also wasn't limping and was on his feet for pretty much the entire night. Apparently he and the GM of McFaddens were roommates at Louisville, so he's been giving us tickets and stuff all year to raffle off. -

Wood will be ready day 1. Heard it from the horses mouth at our draft party in Philly. He's been working out and running since the beginning of the year. -
RD 3, Pick #69: WR TJ Graham - NC State

Reminds me a bit of DeSean Jackson or Lee Evans. He's taller than Roscoe and seems to have more speed rather than quickness like Roscoe has. Also looks to be more sturdy. Probably a reach, but I can see some value in having a guy that fast on the field. Let's face it, Stevie, Nelson, & Easley aren't really deep threats. -
Day 2 Draft party in Philly!!
Billadelphia replied to Billadelphia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, come on over. From what I know, if you want anything autographed, bring it along. It's not going to be like a typical autograph signing at a mall where they only allow certain items or whatnot. The players are doing this as a favor, so it should be pretty cool. -

Yeah, the girl that started the group with me also works at NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, NJ, so they're going over there first for a tour and then coming over. Apparently they also have OTA's in the morning and they're coming down after that. Eric was also roommates at Louisville with the GM at the McFadden's here, so he's been sending game tickets and jerseys all year for us to raffle off while we watch the games. Looking forward to getting their perspective on the upcoming season and on draft picks. -
Here's a link to Chris Brown's blog with some details: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/04/26/attn-philly-based-bills-backers/ This is on Friday the 27th for Rounds 2 & 3. We'll be at McFadden's on 3rd St. and the players will be coming over around 6 or 7 to sign autographs, do some give away some merchandise, and hang out. No cover, parking in the lot is free (before 8pm), and there will be plenty of $2 Blues, Blue Lights, and wings. Everybody is welcome to come and hang out!

Chan's offensive Choice s this season
Billadelphia replied to bowery4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that body type and running style has more to do with it than weight. I realize that CJ isn't Sproles or Roscoe Parrish, but he hasn't shown the elusiveness inside like he does when he runs outside or off tackle. Or like a Thurman/FJ who seem to be able to shed lineman and get to the second level. If you notice, unless he's untouched going through, he probably isn't going to make it through. He's getting better at it, but he still isn't there yet. His strength is in his speed right now, not his power or balance. -
Chan's offensive Choice s this season
Billadelphia replied to bowery4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His reasoning in this article for not running CJ is that he's not a big back and probably cant handle a 25-30 carry workload unless he's getting around the corner. I think that's the key phrase. When they drafted him, they probably gambled on him being able to run like he did at Clemson and making the corner multiple times throughout the game, every game. Not the case, as we've seen. I actually agree with him that running CJ up the middle like Fred or Marshawn would probably work, until he gets hurt, which would pretty much be inevitable. The probability of him getting hurt is less when they run screens, misdirections, and occasionally up the middle. Besides, at this point in the year, when we aren't going to the playoffs regardless of the outcome, why risk it? Let him work on his footwork and vision so that next year, they might be able to play with a split back set of FJ & CJ to keep teams guessing. -

I DVR'ed this and watched the whole 6 hrs this weekend. As always, he's got all kinds of good info, interviews, and commentary that you've never seen before. I also drank the whole time I watched it, too, which helps add to the experience. Highly recommend it!

Jury is still out on this for me, but it looks like he's more comfortable in his current role than he was as an undersized DE.

Best Anti Virus/Security Software
Billadelphia replied to EZC-Boston's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I have the 2010 Norton (it comes free if you have Comcast) and it works way better than the past versions that I've used. I used AVG for awhile, then I had Microsoft Security Essentials running with Norton, but got rid of the Microsoft because having both bogged down my system. Norton has alot of nice features and for me, its free, so it's a win win. That being said, I don't think that I'd pay for Norton over the free Microsoft download. Security Essentials has everything you need. My biggest problem with it, is that it updates its definitions daily and it bogged down my computer when it would do that. Norton updates daily, too, but it never seems to get in my way. -
Chiavettas + tomato paste + Worcestershire + brown sugar This is a great base for a bbq sauce and then add dried ingredients how you like it and cook it down.
