  1. I don't know... JMO...But for the Bills to go CB that high they would have to hit a few grand slams during the FA period... I'm not an anti-CB guy either. But I'm not sure the talent available matches up with the value late in the 1st of this Draft, and for me it's a hard positional sell high based on where I see this teams glaring needs... I'll reserve judgment till after the FA period is up. But the opposite CB position being upgraded, while admittingly a need, is not in my top 3...maybe even 4...to get this team where it needs to go... We'll see...😎
  2. I really don't understand why we can't all agree on some very basic points here... The Titans, Browns, Steelers, and Packers all suck... The Bills...JJ Watt or not, are going to win the SB next year because they quite literally have the son of Zeus playing QB for them... Do facts not matter any longer? It's science folks...
  3. Exactly... He really has been much better in Tennessee...And I certainly give him a lot of credit for reviving his career. But give Josh a running game like that with Henry in the backfield and we may average 50 a game...
  4. I honestly just assumed Watt had lost a step so-to-speak...So I went back and watched what I could from 2020... What I saw was still pretty damn good at times. The instincts are still good, and when he sees it he can beat a single block and still knife into the backfield. He still gets his hands up and knocks down passes, and he makes big plays every once in a while too. I really did not consider Watt much for this offseason plan. But I've moved a lot on him to the point where now I feel like IF the Bills were to go all out to bring him in for a couple years I'm AOK with it. Even if it meant blowing up a lot of the current line and Drafting a couple kids to add to him, Oliver, and Epenesa (I'm leaving a lot out from that equation because if the Bills go fishing for salary I think Jefferson, Butler, Addison, and Hughes are all possibilities to be cut...Though I realize they won't ALL be cut)... Anyway...Come on JJ...
  5. His analytics for 2020 were very, very good...His sack numbers were down, but he was getting no help and constant double teams. I think I read he led the league in stops behind the line vs the run...
  6. I know this is a bit of a homer opinion, but after listening to John McClain this morning on WGR I think it's going to come down to Buffalo, Tennessee, or Green Bay for Watt... If anyone knows what Watt is thinking from the media side it would be McClain, and what were the first words out of him this morning concerning JJ? It will not be about the money...He wants to win a SB... The GB/WI connections certainly give them a leg up. But GB has bigger Cap issues than the Bills do and they do not have the options to purge along the D-Line that the Bills have in order to make room for JJ...And if I'm betting on a QB to get me to the dance I'm certainly going to give the nod to Josh over Tannehill...Though I do admit Tenn has some very nice pieces on the Offensive side. I really think if it's all about winning a SB, and fitting in, the Bills have a great shot...We'll see...
  7. The Bills have plenty of opportunity to shave salary along the D-Line, and if it means opening up enough to bring Watt in for a year or two I'm 100% on board. Let face it, Watt is picture-perfect made for this organization. He's going to be a leader and a process guy from day 1...He'll bring a skill set to the D-Line that the Bills desperately need right now. He's going to make everyone around him better. He's still got that knack for knifing into the backfield with quicks, and I'm not sure there has ever been a better D-Lineman in NFL history and knocking down passes. The Bills REALLY struggled at times on 3rd Down Defense in 2020...If you got JJ and just played him on 3rd Downs there would be a big improvement. It's a no-brainer IMHO...
  8. I traded down twice. Picked up an extra 3, 4, and 7...I'm a Trade Down philosophy drafter anyway, but I feel with the Cap restrictions the Bills will be dealing with Rookie contracts will be even more coveted this year... Anyway...
  9. I honestly can't remember a game where I've seen so much immediate pressure as I did tonight. And I've been a Bills fan for 50 years... If that was not Mahomes back there, or someone with similar mobility, they could have had 20 sacks! It was insane...
  10. I'm no Tom Brady fan and I hope TB gets pounded tonight by 50. That being said Brady is the GOAT and I really don't think there is any doubt about it whatsoever.
  11. I'm kind of in the middle on Darnold. Would I give up a later 1st for him? No...No I would not. Do I believe some team would? Yes...Yes I do...
  12. Well... Good luck Matt...You're a great player. Definitely did you 1/11th job...But I've watched the top LB's in this league play...A lot...And you're not on that level. And that is not meant to be insulting. It's just true. 😎
  13. Looking a little closer at it I wonder if Hughes is in jeopardy? In 11 of the Bills 18 games Hughes had 15 total tackles, 0 sacks, and 4 QB hits...That's some seriously low production in over half the total games played. Looks like they save a little more than $7 million if he's cut. I realize we're talking about the one guy that can get some pressure off the edge, and they do feel he is a team leader...But they have to cut somewhere. Beane said there would be some tough decisions. I don't know? 😎
  14. Beane basically said it had nothing to do with balance. He knows we'll be a pass heavy team from here on out. It's more about being able to run when you need to. When teams are basically daring you to run, and you can't do it to loosen up the Pass coverage and create more opportunities in the Pass game. Just think about what KC did to us in that 1st game and that is what Beane is looking for. KC has NO balance...basically...But if you dare them to, they will run it. And they will hurt you when they do. 😎
  15. Some of y'all are WAY better than me at the numbers side. But if you're wondering where the tough decisions may come, at a quick glance it looks like the Bills can save over 20 million by cutting Smoke, Jefferson, and Butler. I think if Star is coming back you can fairly assume one of those two DT's will be gone. Maybe all take a big cut? Add in Micah and it's over $25 million...Don't get me wrong, I doubt they cut all of them...It's just where the major fat is and the lower dead cap money... 😎
  16. My guess is they hope he goes out and does not get what he's looking for due to the Cap in 2021 and the fact that he did have a bit of an off-season due to injuries. Then they can work something out on a 1 year deal. He'll get a big raise no matter what for a year (his 2020 base was only $2.1 million), then hit FA in what will hopefully be a huge money market in 2022...😎
  17. He did look real thin...He weighed in at 275 at the Combine. I wonder how low he got? Certainly did not look any more than about 250...My guess is they want him around 260-265...He's a little over 6-5 so that's probably as low as he can go and stay effective as a 4-3 DE... The good news is they asked him to cut and he did it. Shows his dedication. At least we don't have another Marcell Dareus situation in that regard...😎
  18. Who knows with Ford? The injury puts an even bigger cloud on his future. But I have zero doubt Star would have helped a lot this year. If only for the obvious continuity he would have brought. I very much hope he's back, and at 100% in 2021. They really need that 1 tech to play along side of Oliver. It's a really big need for this D...If not Star they better figure something out...😎
  19. No...They still want him at DE. Just sounds like he went a little overboard on the weight cut and had problems putting any back on. I think a lot of it had to do with the strange off season. I think if it's a regular off season and he's in the facility every day, their plan for his weight would have been better managed. 😎
  20. This is going to be a really strange off season for sure. I really doubt anyone is going to back up the Brinks truck for a player like Matt this off season based on the Cap. If he had played all 16 games plus the Playoffs I have no doubt he'd cash in. But he's coming off a down year, mostly due to the injuries. Not ideal for his market value for sure... But we'll see...No doubt there will be a slew of one-year deals, especially after the top tier guys sign. 😎
  21. They could start fixing it by actually having a running game.πŸ™‚ I think it's a combination of things to be honest...Scheme...Interior O-Line play...Lack of high end talent at RB...Not enough drilling the run game day in and day out because we passed it so well...etc...etc... The way the Bills can pass the ball, this area really should be the easiest to fix by scheme. Because teams are going to dare us to run in the future. Be ready for it, and burn them...😎
  22. I can't speak for anyone else here, but I watched Edmunds constantly...even a bit obsessively all year. Heck going back to his Rookie Season...Most of the criticisms of him are valid. But I think it's more about him playing out-of-position than anything. I think he's always had too much on his plate and would be better served on the outside where his responsibilities are more limited, and he does not have to make 1000 reads on every play. Plus he'll have to take on less direct blocks from monsters who engulf him...I think there is a role for him to excel in almost any Defense. I do not think that role is at MLB for this team, and this scheme...But who knows? That scheme might change a lot in 2021. So we'll see...😎
