I personally would love it! Of course literally 95% of my wardrobe is black...So admittedly I'm the wrong person to ask about this...
-
I find that...generally...when you post about the board instead of posting about the Bills specifically...you veer down a dangerous path of no return...

We're all hoping so... I'm noticing the thing that gets lost with most of the EJ detractors is that some of the folks who backed him most last off-season (Mayock, Buddy, etc...) admitted he was a project and a bit raw...I think Mayock, who was really in EJ's corner, explained it best... "You can mold him into something special. He's raw...But he's that piece of clay where you take him and you can turn him into what you want..." Now...Does that sound like he's referring to Andrew Luck? Of course not...We were warned, and some of us warned the rest of our Bills brethren, that EJ was going to take some patience...He's a real smart, real hard working kid who cares...We have to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best knowing what we know, what he came into the NFL as, and what the plan was all along...

Are the Quarterbacks going to start dropping?
KOKBILLS replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll see...But I really doubt that very much...Admittedly I've been wrong before...But history is on my side...Especially when QB prospects hold consensus 1st round grades like Bortles, Manziel, and Bridgewater have throughout this process...Even in years when no QB has held a consensus 1st round grade they still get over-drafted...Look no further than EJ last year for an example of that... With every team that passes a QB the next team that needs one has the opportunity to get their guy...It's still the most important position...And if teams are going to assume these QB's are just going to continue to fall they'll get left out, or they'll have to settle...Teams like Tennessee and Dallas (I can't imagine they would pass on Manziel) come into play when they normally would not be in the QB picture...Cleveland has another 1st Round pick...Teams trade back up into the 1st from the top of the 2nd...The waters get muddied fast...I can't wait to see what Houston is going to get if they don't take one of these guys at #1. Because by the time they Draft again it could be down to the 5th or 6th QB when they could have had Bortles/Manziel and a very good prospect at #33...I'm just not on board with the love for Clowney (or any other positional prospect) over a QB, if QB is a major need on that team...There are plenty of examples of teams who have had monster years from DE's, WR's, etc, only to miss the Playoffs because their QB play was lacking... It would be a HUGE shift in philosophy almost league wide if these QB's slide...In just the past few years we have seen plenty of QB's get over-drafted because teams know in the end it's worth the gamble...You don't have to pay them like you used to, and if you hit on one nothing is going to make a bigger difference in your teams success long term...Maybe the Gabbert's, Locker's, and Ponder's have scared teams off...But I'll believe it when I actually see it... -
If I'm Easley I would do exactly what I do best...Go out and and make big plays on ST's as a gunner...He's got a very specific skill that makes him a REAL hard player to cut...Due to that I honestly do not see the Bills keeping either Barden or Graham over him this year if it comes down to that...He does not have to play WR much...They'll keep one or two guys on the practice squad for emergencies at WR...But he'll play on almost every ST's unit and play very well there...It's an undervalued skill for a bottom of the roster spot...Championship teams need players like Easley...I really don't think he's got a lot to worry about unless another WR can fill his spot on ST's...Then he would be in trouble...
-
I'm not so sure...After last year, and what Marrone said about needing core ST's players, I think Easley has a BIG lead on that last WR spot...It's pretty much a given that Williams takes Hogan's spot...If another WR comes in I would imagine Graham will be feeling the heat more than Easley...But we'll see...

And without Buddy around it makes it even easier to be more guarded...I loved hearing Buddy talk about individual prospects because I think if you really follow the team, and the teams needs, he slipped up a lot...I felt he ever-so-slightly tipped off the Gilmore, Glenn, and Manuel picks...He just had a way of saying things without actually saying them...Then when you look back it becomes obvious who they liked...I felt we put together some clues last year right here on the board that led us to Manuel...Especially when Buddy kind of mirrored what Mayock was saying about Manuel...ie...If you're going to take a flyer on a QB take the guy with the biggest upside potential that you can mold into a top starter in a couple years...As far as Glenn it was obvious when Buddy compared him to Marcus McNeil...

Good effort... The St Louis and Minnesota trade makes a ton of sense to me mostly because I believe St Louis really want Matthews but understands #2 is a bit too high to take him...And it would give Minnesota their choice of QB's which is by far their biggest need... I realize you undervalued the trade-down purposely...And a little correction...The Giants pick #113 (not #108) in the 4th...But anyway, if the Bills were to do that I would imagine they would also ask for the Giants 5th or 6th Round pick as well...A 4th, plus a 5th or 6th would still be an undervalued trade...But in a deep Draft more picks is never a bad thing... I don't disagree...

Bucky Brooks 2 round mock draft...
KOKBILLS replied to Bob Malooga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been real disappointed in Jeremiah this year where his Bills projections are concerned...I liked Jeremiah last year because I felt he was pretty thorough...This year...Well...He's been on the CJ Mosely to the Bills wagon for a while...But when he's discussed the Bills he has yet to mention a single time that we signed Spikes...Not one single time that I can remember...Now...I realize many do not consider Spikes a 3 down LB...I get that...I would even get it if Jeremiah explained why he likes Mosely more than Spikes...But every time he mentions Mosely to the Bills he assumes he'll slide right in as the starter on the inside next to Kiko...Brandon Spikes is not invisible...The Bills signed Spikes for a reason...I just don't see the logic in signing Spikes and Rivers, then using a premium pick on Mosley...And Jeremiah has completely ignored this point... As for Barr...I would be shocked if he was the pick...I don't see him being a fit, or a need...It would make no sense at all...I don't get that projection whatsoever...I think he's like Mingo, but with less experience...He's a situation player right now...He's not an every down LB in most Defenses, and he's definitely not a DE...I think he's a better player than Maybin coming out, but the comparisons are not completely invalid because Barr is going to need to land on a team that has a definitive plan on how to use him...I think he may be able to be a Jerry Hughes-type DE/OLB in a couple years...But the Bills already have Jerry Hughes so (and yes I know Hughes is a UFA in 2015)... -
And if he's planning on moving The Bills that would be a VERY smart career move...I'm thinking it would be smart for him to avoid WNY period...Like...forever...

I would REALLY like to see him book Darien Lake this Summer...That would be interesting...

LT/RT Mathews or TE Ebron in R1??
KOKBILLS replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree... I mean...I get the call for the flashy pick...I would love to get either Evans or Ebron...It would be exciting...But with a guy like Matthews you just can't lose...We're talking about a player that is being legitimately considered for #2 overall by St Louis...Now...I'm not saying St Louis will take him because the top of this Draft is loaded with talent and they have other needs as well...But he is being considered, and some folks think Fisher will take him over Robinson...He's NFL ready and an incredible value at #9 overall...You get a kid that could have legitimately gone #1 overall in 2013 at #9 overall in 2014...That's crazy...You have to push the positional stuff aside and realize you are getting a player that will anchor the right side of the line for a minimum of the next 5 years with the ability to slide over to LT at any time...I just don't see how that kind of value is a bad thing... I doubt Matthews will be there at #9 anyway...But if he is, and the Bills take him, I'm A.O.K. with that pick... -
I missed the interview tonight...Interesting...That's about what Kelvin Benjamin weighs...But a Kaufman move to TE is intriguing...The kid can catch the ball...He's 6-5...The WR position is already crowded on this team and they'll probably Draft another...What's not to like about his?
-
I like Beckham...But not for the Bills as much...Woods, and Flash are already 6 ft or smaller WR's...I don't see the need for another... If they trade down and take a WR I'd prefer one of the bigger ones...But you can likely get one of them at #41 anyway...So...to me at least...I think a trade down opens up the possibility for names like Clinton-Dix, Calvin Pryor, Dee Ford, or Zach Martin...

Please Vote for our Pick in Fan Mock!
KOKBILLS replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went with Ebron...Kind of by default...I actually expect the offered choices are pretty much going to be what it comes down to...Maybe the QB remaining changes...But I think the Bills are going to be looking at Ebron or Lewan...And I think that scenario screams trade down if possible...If no trade I'd prefer Ebron... -
I totally agree that we will be getting a very good player in the 1st round...And a player that will fill a need as well...My guess is...right now at least...that it would be Lewan or Ebron based on the fact that I think Clowney, Watkins, Robinson, Matthews, Mack, and Evans will all be gone in the top 8..But that's just a guess... Right...Clevelands 1st at #26, 2nd (35), 4th (106), and 6th (180) would be about dead even on the value chart...Very close...

Valid point...But BPA will be entirely dependent on who is the Bills BPA...Because no matter who they take they will say it was the BPA on their board...And it probably will be...But that could be a Safety, Cornerback, DE, WR...Who knows? The only thing I know is they will say it was the BPA on their board...

Don't let facts get in the way of a good fan-on-fan over-generalized rant NoSaint...
-
Exactly... I understand the OP was likely just trying to be funny...So this is not necessarily pointed at him/her...But to be honest these over-generalizations and over exaggerations aimed at Bills fans here on the board do nothing to further any conversation about this team whatsoever...It's my #1 pet peeve here...And there's not even a close second...It's like cheap message board trash-talk...It's useless...I thought this board was supposed to be about discussing the Buffalo Bills football organiation...Not discussing Buffalo Bills fans and lumping fringe opinions into collectives to make a point that really has no bearing on anything...

Are the Quarterbacks going to start dropping?
KOKBILLS replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you...But...If the Bills talk themselves out of it what real choice do the fans have other than to complain or deal with it? What does it matter if they've (the Bills) made up their mind? We have zero control...So I don't think it's a matter of most Bills fans talking themselves into it...Rather, I believe they move on knowing the Bills have talked themselves into it and hope for the best...Because that's all they can do... -
I would not want any Defensive player at #9 unless his name is Clowney or Mack... I'm also still not crazy about Lewan's off-field stuff...But I do think he would make a great addition to the O-line as a player... I'm a Michigan fan...And I'm not a huge supporter of Lewan because of the off-the-field stuff...I will say though that there is the belief among some that he will eventually be a better NFL player than Matthews...He is considered an elite prospect as an OT...You're not getting a 3rd best...You're more getting a guy that's tied for 2nd, with potentially a better upside than the guy he's tied with...You're getting an absolute elite athlete for the position...He's top notch athletically...But you're also getting a guy with off-field questions NFL teams have to be comfortable he's answered...
