  1. That was painful to listen to...They should call 3 random posters here and I'm thinking it would be better...
  2. He's not my favorite... At the very least I think it will be a couple years before you want to put him out there... I give him credit for improving in College...But he never seemed like an NFL prospect to me...Of course I'm wrong all the time...So...
  3. No offense meant...But not a big fan of this line of thinking for the Bills in this Draft... This Draft provides a unique opportunity IMHO...The right 1st and 2nd Round picks could be key puzzles to turning this Bills Defense around big time because the Bills have talent on Defense, and two VERY good CB's...Add the right 2-3 players to that mix and now we've got something... I'm just not a fan of taking any Offensive player in the first two rounds of this Draft...I can see a WR or QB in the 3rd and 4th, and expect it...But I'd much rather the Bills stay BPA for the front 7 early in this Draft...We have a gaping hole at DE...We need a rush LB...We could use a multi-purpose DT/3-4 DE like Vernon Butler or Chris Jones... I know WR is a need...But the Bills Offense is going to run the ball more than 50% of the time regardless, and they have a Top 10 NFL WR already...I look at what the Panthers did last year with a VERY similar Offensive philosophy and the Bills depth at WR right now, without Drafting anyone, is equal to the Panthers last year...And this is NOT the 2014 Draft at the WR position...These WR's are being pushed WAY up because it's an off year at the position...I can promise all of you "WR in the 1st round" fans this much...At #19 there will be a Defensive player on the board that is going to be a star in this league...Probably more than one...I just can't say the same about ANY WR in this Draft... Not that I pay a ton of attention to these things...But in this case I'll make an exception...The NFL.com player comparison to Josh Docton is Terrence Williams...Terrence Williams! Now...I know Doctson is a good player...But #19 overall good? And this is a first round pick that we know...100%...will be no better than the #2 WR on this team long term...To me it makes no sense...Not when you can get a legit defensive stud to add a much needed boost to that Defense... One more point...I'm hearing a lot of the opinion/theory that because this Draft is so deep in Defense...especially front 7 Defense...that it's good strategy to take an Offensive player early...I pretty strongly disagree with this thought process...Let's start with the fact that 2 out of the last 3 SB winners did so largely on the back of their Defenses...And NE's Defense was MUCH improved when they beat Seattle...I think there is a difference between what you can get at #19 and what you can get at #80 on the front 7, even in this Draft...A BIG difference...The Bills need starters on Defense...They need depth on Defense...KW is not getting any younger...Mario is gone...They need a young stud to place next to Dareus for years to come, and they need pass rush help...They can get those pieces at #19 and #49 in this Draft...Wait and you risk getting a player that is not ready to give the Bills what they need in 2016...
  4. Or maybe they go with neither? I think assuming the Bills go LB at #19 is ridiculous...If you could combine Ragland and Lee...That's a LB worthy of #19 overall...But I don't like either there...If the Bills are bound and determined to go LB in the 1st I'd rather see them trade down and just take the one that's left... No matter what I prefer SO many D-linemen in this Draft to either Lee or Ragland I don't think it should matter...I really don't see how it will be possible for either of those two to be BPA when the Bills pick...
  5. When I heard the media push about the Bills sitting down with Lynch I swear my first thought was they want a team to Trade up to #19, or ahead of them, just to assure the Jets get locked out...I really, really doubt the Bills have serious interest in Lynch...Mostly because it's likely going to take a 1st round pick to get him...And he's definitely not ready...
  6. Vey nice for the Titans...Very, very nice...
  7. It is awful...My cousin sent the rumor to me earlier today and my response was basically...That would seriously piss me off...And I'm far from the biggest TT fan...Though I like the kid...But #19, #49, a 3rd next year AND TT...to move up 17 spots?...No thanks... On a side note I think it says a lot about what it's like to be a Bills Fan...at least what it's like for me as a Bills Fan of 45 some odd years now... when you read a rumor you're 99.9% sure is bull crap, but you're pissed because the fake trade make the Bills look stupid...
  8. I'm not opposed to either Reed or Robinson...I do like Robinson a bit more simply because I wonder if Reed is ever going to be a 3-down DT in the NFL... But I do like other DT's in this Draft better...Especially for what the Bills need...I love Rankins...I think he's got a lot of Aaron Donald in him...I see Rankins as the potential monster the Bills desperately need to get pressure...I think he can play in any front, and if you put him in there next to Dareus on 3rd down look out!...All that being said I doubt Rankins falls to #19... I also prefer Vernon Butler and Chris Jones...I just think they give you more flexibility, especially in 3-man fronts, and they are better athletes...I worry that Reed and Robinson, while being very good, are lower ceiling-types...While Jones especially, and Butler, have sky-high potential... If Rankins is gone, I would take any of these DT's and be happy...They are all very good prospects in their own right...I just feel Butler and Jones have the potential to be very special...And had they played at Alabama, with the talent that Defense has, they would be lock Top 15 picks...
  9. Sal C commented a bit on the Bills Draft Room and Rex's influence the other day on WGR...In a nutshell he said Rex's opinion, especially with Defensive players, is valued...But that's about as far as it goes...The Draft is Whaley and his Scouting Department's show...He did say that just by luck this Draft lines up with the Bills Defensive needs, and Rex is likely to get the help he would want regardless...But Sal was pretty insistent that Rex has no more pull on Draft picks than any other NFL HC...He did also comment that Rex really likes Whaley and there is a lot of trust between the two of them... It's funny because this is certainly not the first mention of Rex likely loving Nkemdiche...But I think we all know if Rex is going to be in there banging the table for any players it's likely going to be Lawson or Dodd first and foremost...You just have to know Rex loves those two with his connection to that school...And for good reason...They are both very good prospects...
  10. Agreed... And I think Nkemdiche may see the same thing happen...In another year they may get pushed up a bit...But if you really need or want D-line this year there are other very good options that will likely be available in the 1st...
  11. Used the updated Fanspeak Board... Tried to go every round with who I thought was the BPA (Not who was at the top of the FS board)...Ended up with no DB's...Not by design...But because I always liked another player better than the DB's available...I realize the chances of the Bills going 8 picks without Drafting a DB are slim to none...But anyway... This may be the Mock I like best so far...And I've done a million...I feel like this Mock would give a massive boost to the Defense and add nice depth to the O-Line...Plus I get a plug and play slot WR and a developmental QB...If the Bills did this Draft weekend I'd take a vacation to celebrate... 19: R1P19 DE KEVIN DODD CLEMSON 49: R2P18 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI STATE 80: R3P17 OLB KYLER FACKRELL UTAH STATE 117: R4P19 QB CARDALE JONES OHIO STATE 139: R4P41 WR DANIEL BRAVERMAN WESTERN MICHIGAN 156: R5P17 C GRAHAM GLASGOW MICHIGAN 192: R6P17 OT WILLIE BEAVERS WESTERN MICHIGAN 218: R6P43 OLB TRAVIS FEENEY WASHINGTON
  12. Mixed reviews huh? Certainly not from the Alabama tape...Analysis paralysis is in full swing I'm guessing...
  13. Goodness...Rankins, A. Robinson, J. Reed, and Dodd still on the board at #19??? I can't decide...
  14. That's the basic formula I've used in every mock Draft I've done...To me it makes total sense...I also think it fit the strengths of this Draft at the individual positions...
  15. Dodd is definitely the guy I want most at #19...Even if Rankins or Robinson slide...The Bills need to get pressure on the passer and I think Dodd is just starting to realize his potential...
  16. Deep at the top...VERY deep at the top...But that is going to thin out REAL fast because just about every team can use another D-lineman... And I'm not crazy about any of these first round LB's not named Myles Jack...I just don't think they are worthy of #19 overall...What you will get at D-line at #19, compared to a guy like Lee or Ragland is a big gap IMHO...I think LB's like Lee and Ragland should go in the #49 area...But they're being pushed up because it's not a great LB class...No t that they are not good players because they are...But Lee is undersized and Ragland is a slower 2-down thumper... Or maybe a better way to put it is this...If you believe in BPA...there is virtually no way a LB should go ahead of several D-Linemen at #19... And I'm not anti-LB either...Just not crazy about this class...I loved Luke Kuechly coming out...I liked Shazier too though, like Lee, I worried a bit about his size...And Shazier has been oft injured... Maybe it's just me...But I think a D-lineman that in another Draft would normally be a top 10 player is going to slide to #19 this year...I think ANY LB in this Draft that will be available at #19 is a bit of a reach...
  17. That's what they thought last year...And they had Mario too!!! This is such a tremendous Draft for D-line talent I'm all in on using #19 and #49 to solidify the D-line/Pass Rush...If that means a DE/OLB type like Dodd or Fackrell I'm AOK with it...But I feel like getting LB's who can tackle, or specialist LB's/Safeties who can cover is easier to find later than top notch D-linemen who can take over a game... My feeling is...You add two top prospects to Dareus, Williams, Hughes, and Bryant and NOW you really have something going...
  18. Michigan St had some pretty good Defenses during his years there...Ranked 3rd overall in 2013, 22nd in 2014, and 26th last year... Had to have something to do with the Win/Loss deal... I'm not against Cook either...I am however dead set against him in the 1st two rounds... It only takes one team...That's for sure! And I imagine plenty of teams like Cook... But my argument here is based on the 1st two rounds...And I just feel that taking him that early, based on some really strong analytics, is a major risk...
  19. With all due respect...And I'm sure this has been discussed before...But still... I see your signature for Cook with a trade down in the 1st...Advocating for taking a QB in the 1st round of the NFL Draft with a completion percentage under 60% in every single year as a starter (he never hit 59% either) is a risk I don't think any NFL team will be willing to make in the day and age of advanced analytics...There is no way any NFL team should consider Conner Cook in the 1st Round...And that does not mean he can't buck the trend...What it does mean is this...The trend is so incredibly strong and backed up by actual, factual, analytics that a team who wishes to gamble on Cook being the one single guy who is going to shatter the trend (and if you're going to take him in the first you have to believe he is going to SHATTER the trend...That means being much better than the best recent guy coming out who had less than 60% in College...Kaepernick...who was a 2nd Rd pick btw...) is basically insane... Remember...Even though Matt Stafford, Carson Palmer, and Jay Cutler had career College completion percentages under 60% (I'm not going to count Matt Ryan who's 71 attempts as a Freshman pushed him below the 60% career mark...Ryan finished at 59.9% career at BC...But over 61% as a Soph and a Jr...) ALL of them had at least one year as a Starter in College over 60%...And only Cutler did not hit over the 60% mark in his Sr year...He hit 61% as a Jr, and 59.74% for his Jr and Sr years combined...Cook NEVER hit 59%!!!...And the names we're talking about here in comparison with Cook...Kaepernick, Cutler, Stafford, Palmer...It's not like we're talking about Brady, Brees, Wilson...etc...Heck even Kirk Cousins went well over 60% (64.1%) at the same school... I would take a shot at Cook in the 3rd or later...No sooner though...The odds are stacked against him based on his College numbers...just the chance of being better than the likes of Stafford, Palmer, and Cutler is a long shot...
  20. Not sure... It sells papers?...
  21. Correct Sir...I just checked...
  22. Why? Is that relevant to the topic?...
