  1. Are they really going to lose this game?
  2. Some bad Allen throws today. High, in the dirt, in double coverage (twice), and now this one right to the defender.
  3. Sigh. Sure would be nice to see a blowout one of these days. Seems like a long time.
  4. No panic. Bills are moving the ball on offense and stopping them on defense. Special teams not doing well, again, but otherwise they look fine. Just can't let them hang around is all.
  5. Maybe Benford should play safety. Can't be worse than Hamlin.
  6. Just don't turn the ball over and it should work out. The Bills are better across the board.
  7. Good point. Brown's incompetence is essentially costing us a tight end. It takes two players to do the job Brown should be doing alone. Could Quessenberry, Hart, or even Daryl Williams be worse?
  8. Any yet from all the evidence, MVP voters never take weather conditions into account. Remarkable, isn't it, how Mahomes is able to throw more TDs for a higher percentage in perfect conditions than Allen playing in the worst conditions in the NFL? SOS schedule also a non-factor, so Hurts playing so well with the softest schedule in the league doesn't figure in an iota. The voters are among the most seasoned beat reporters, too; you'd think they'd know better.
  9. No Mac Jones? Outrageous!
  10. Creed Humphrey was sitting there in the second round when Beane went for Boogie. Could have played guard for the Bills and saved the team a lot of grief and money.
  11. Warner keeps saying "You can't get away with that" before admitting that Allen did in fact get away with it. It's like Warner wants Allen to be ordinary so he can show why what he does is bad football. But if what Allen is doing "wrong" ends up working repeatedly, it's not wrong, by definition.
  12. Ironically, the most persuasive argument for Allen as MVP is the media's (and fans') early-season gushing over the "elite weapons" Allen has. Only now are a (very) few commentators beginning to realize that, aside from Diggs, Morse and Dawkins, the players around Allen are average at best. Reminds me of OJ Simpson being the entire Bills offense back in the day.
  13. Even so, TWO first-round draft picks for a WR not proven in the NFL? With Evans and Odell available? And then to take E.J. Manuel the next year? He could have done better with a blindfold and a dart board.
  14. The long run by Allen and his last-second, cross-body throw to Cook were vintage Allen. Keep Mahomes and Hurts. Allen is the best player in football.
  15. It's like the defense has money on the Dolphins winning. This is easily the worst I've seen them play in the Allen era.
  16. Cam Lewis comes back to lose TWO games for the Bills, all by himself.
  17. So now we're down to one offensive lineman, Dawkins, who is above replacement level. One.
  18. Allen sucks. Why wasn't he covering Waddle?
  19. The offensive line is exactly that. Worst part of the team.
  20. This defense is an obscenity.
  21. I'm predicting Duke Johnson will be activated. We need to pound the rock in the snow. This is the kind of week Tommy Doyle would have been helpful. The big difference in this game might end up being Allen running.
  22. That's a thought. Brown has been a liability in pass protection outside. Maybe he'd do better with someone on either side of him. But Quessenberry on the outside isn't much better.
  23. That's not what The Athletic says this week in its all-22 review of the Jets game. Excerpt: "The starting safety made a flash play near the end of the game to force a turnover, which was impressive. So, when you look at the grades, you might wonder why his is among the lowest listed. It’s because there were several examples when Hamlin had a one-on-one tackle opportunity, only to lose the ball carrier and not even slow him down enough for teammates to arrive with help. It usually happens in the run game, and to Hamlin’s credit, he has done a nice job of sniffing out where he needs to be for those opportunities to limit gains. But the execution of the tackle was lacking, allowing the Jets’ Zonovan Knight some of his best runs Sunday. The Bills were pretty good against the run all game, but a few of the Jets’ best runs happened on Hamlin’s watch. The trouble with tackling isn’t isolated, either. Hamlin has shown this is a bit of a weakness in his game since he entered the starting lineup. There isn’t much the Bills can do about it at this point because he is easily their best starting option of the active roster players, but it could hurt them against more explosive running backs."
  24. The wind and visibility will help the Dolphins, who otherwise couldn't keep up with the Bills on either side of the ball. Just like the wind game against the Pats and the heat game in Miami. Frustrating. This game will come down to who turns the ball over where how often. If the Bills throw deep, throw anywhere to McKenzie, or return punts in these conditions, they deserve to lose. But I expect them to win simply because they're better.
  25. Buffalo Rumblings has a nice video breakdown of all of Beasley's catches in TB. Upshot: not very impressive, but at least he catches the ball. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2022/12/14/23505398/bills-news-cole-beasley-signed-jets-game-recap-dolphins-week-15-preview
