And we all woke up this morning to find coal in our stockings...

Not sure how you single out Fitz. He's been horrible, sure, but the D - if possible - has been even worse. Special teams too. It's a total team failure which is more than a little concerning because there's no quick fix for the entire team...

He caught it, turned and took 2-3 steps up field - that's a catch and fumble all day long.

Your breakout Bills player for the 2012-2013 season?
MDH replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The breakout player of the year will be Stephon Gilmore. By year's end he'll be a top 10 CB and everybody will know that's only scratching the surface of how good he will become a few years down the road. I don't think people realize how good Fred Jackson is simply because he doesn't "dazzle" you with electric runs. The guy is a beast and one of the best overall backs in the league. He's averaged 4.6 ypc behind a pretty pathetic line most of his career, is fantastic as a receiver out of the backfield and is THE best blocking tailback in the league. Nobody picks up the blitz like Freddie - nobody. There's not another back in the league who is as good - overall - as Freddie. Sure there are better runners but I can't think of anybody who has his overall well-rounded game. If Freddie was a first round pick and played exactly as he has to date nobody would be saying things like, "Spiller should be able to unseat a guy like Fred." Spiller is a good change of pace back but if he won't be getting half of Jackson's carries. He'll get 7-10 total touches a game at most. If Spiller is the breakout player of the year for the Bills its not good news because it means Jackson was injured... -
What do you think about the Corasanti verdict?
MDH replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Perhaps, but I'm of the opinion that once you decide to get into a car drunk and drive you lose the right to try and blame the other person for an accident. Obviously these jurors felt otherwise. -

MDH replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sure she has some of the blame. But you know what, those other drivers DIDN'T hit her. What do those other drivers have in common? They weren't drinking. They're being sober allowed them to make up for someone else's mistake. People pull out in front of me all the time on the road, I've had near misses with bikers, pedestrians, etc who have made mistakes. They were near misses because I was sober and able to quickly respond to the situation. A drunk driver isn't able to do that nearly so well so whether she was in the road or not doesn't mean he isn't accountable for her death. -
It's the internet - 95% of the people are hostile.

Vince Young Owes 1.69 Million Dollar Loan
MDH replied to Ball'n's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck. They get a raise and they just up their spending. Athletes appear to be no different. -
And if it doesn't then that's the time to complain about it. These posts complaining about the game plan are about a month too early. If this persists into the regular season by all means complain but until then just realize that the team is working on certain things and not that concerned with game-planning to win a meaningless game.

This. If these young adults where "enjoying their beer responsibly" they'd be smart enough to know that they're legally underage and they should drink at their homes or at a friend's. When I was 18 that's what I did. If you're underage how dumb do you have to be to drink in public? So how responsible are they when they go get piss drunk at a stadium and make such a ruckus as to attract the attention of cops...?

I think Halladay has done pretty well. He got the Cy Young in year one in Philly and was runner up last year. Injuries has derailed him this year but I wouldn't put him in that group. The Philly you should have put in there is Ryan Howard. They gave a ridiculous contract to him 2 years before his old deal was over and he's worth nowhere near the figures he's paid.
-
That's what everybody said about Vince Young after his entire first season. RG3 is going to have to do it for more than a single drive in the first exhibition game against a vanilla D that's not disguising anything before he's put in the HoF.

What were your stadium experiences last night?
MDH replied to The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've done this a handfull of times at the Medowlands - and while I got some ribbing I have never experienced what I've seen at RWS there either. Hell, I've had more people try to pick fights with me at RWS while wearing a Bills jersey than I have while at Giants stadium watching Bills/Jets games... That's pathetic. -

It's baseball actually. MLB stadiums are just more pleasant places to be. I've taken my 8 year old son to Phillies games for years. Yes, Philadelphia, PA - the place with the worst fan reputation around. I've never had a single bad experiences in the 10+ games I've taken him. No crazy drunk people. No macho fight starting. I've heard a few bits of bad language but this is almost immediately followed by someone in the person's party saying, "hey, watch it, there's a kid." -

I applauded him when he blamed god. If athletes are going to give god credit when things go well it's about time someone blamed him when things go to sh*t!

That was definitely their peek - Imo it's one of the all time great albums and their best (with Images and Words not too far behind.) That being said they've had A LOT of quality stuff since then. The Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence album was amazing and they've had solid offerings since then with some of their best songs on those albums - Panic Attack, Octavarium, Count of Tuscany, Endless Sacrifice, & Breaking All Illusions to name a few (the last being on their newest album - go have a listen it's fantastic.)

You want a position to worry about?
MDH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My main concern is that they brought in a guy in VY whose skills don't match the offense. Gaily's attack is a pre-read, quick throw offense - the opposite of Young's skills. He's a playmaker that drops back, scans the field and makes things happen. He's never been a guy who quickly gets rid of balls. Young's problems in the past have been two fold - his accuracy and his decision making. Those are the two things that are most needed in Chan's offense. To top it off his playmaking strengths get diminished in this type of O. I'm sure they'd re-tool the offense if Fitz went down but why bring in a guy as a backup who can't run the offense you have? -
No such thing as a "lock" - injuries can derail any team. I'd guess that at least one of the teams you mention above as "locks" misses the playoffs.

All time its Jane's Addiction given that I started listening to them in 1988 and they've maintained a spot in my play list ever since. In the past decade it's easily Dream Theater as Jane's last few offerings are lacking and DT keeps pumping out fantastic music (and my 8 year old's favorite band is DT and when I ask what he wants to listen to his answer is usually DT.) I'm surprised at how many DT fans are on this forum - nice to see.

As the Colts showed last season when you have one of the best QBs to ever play the game you can have loads of holes in your team and still be good. As long as Brady is there they will win despite these flaws. Put Brady on the Bills and they're suddenly Super Bowl favorites.
-
It makes me kinda sad. McGee has been one of the few bright spots on this pathetic team for almost a decade and now that the team is finally poised to win he might get cut and never get to experience a playoff team in Buffalo.
-
Personally I'm not that interesting his scrambles - we all know that part of his game is fantastic. I want to see improvement in decision making and accuracy. Then again it sounds like Thigpen is so bad that Young is going to get the #2 spot by default.

The part you bold could be just as misleading as it still only quotes the same "1,000 percent a steelers fan" line. I'd like to see the entire quote and not somebody's paraphrasing/contextualizing of it. Edit: And personally I wouldn't want somebody buying the Bills who was every an owner of the Dolphins/Jets/Pats and had a quote like that no matter why he said it - but that's just me.
