  1. Yeah, a guy in major debt who doesn't have a job currently is glad not to be employed by the Bills...
  2. I don't get my self worth from what some guys on a football field do so I'm not embarrassed at all. The men who lace up their shoes and put the pads on - they should be.
  3. The one pass play just killed me. The Bills are starting to get moving a bit having already picked up a first down on the drive and are now in 3rd and 2. So what is the call? A incredibly low percentage pass down the left sideline in an attempt to get a big play. NEWSFLASH: When your offense is struggling and you're trying to get something going 3rd and 2 is not the time to try the deep throw - particularly not with a QB who has trouble with that throw.
  4. That all sounds good but mostly they need to win the turnover battle by at least 2. If they do that they have a solid chance of coming out ahead. Anything less and it's going to be tough.
  5. Agreed, putting him on it every week was bullsh#t - and the NFL eventually got them to stop (granted it took forever.) That being said, what does that have to do with this? Nothing...
  6. Why? A player is claiming that an injury is preventing him from performing at a high level yet he's never appeared on the injury list, not even as a "probable." Hell, he's still not on the list this week. There are rules which players and coaches all know about. This appears to be breaking them. If it was NE doing something like this people would have their panties in a bunch saying they should suspend "Belicheat." So now, is Mario just making excuses? If so there's no rule violation. If he's not then he should have been on the report. The NFL should be looking into it. Investigating this doesn't preclude them from looking into blown calls, ect. They are not mutually exclusive.
  7. Blame the Saints, not Brees. Teams have to have a value they place on players - is he or isn't he worth it. If Brees' demands were above their means then they should have let him go and used that cash on other players. This is the way the market works. To blame a guy who wants to get paid his market value is ridiculous. Do you purposely short yourself 30% of your pay to help your company out? I seriously doubt it.
  8. The main issue here is Gronk. The guy is a beast blocking and a fantastic target down the field - you have to pick your poison. If the Bills stay in a nickle the Pats isolated the safety and made him be the guy who had to step up and make the play vs. the run. If they went to a base D then it's up to a LB to stay with Gronk vs the pass. That's a tough matchup for anybody and why a stud TE is a nightmare for defenses. That being said what was so frustrating is the Bills made no adjustments and just kept getting hammered. I would have preferred they tried anything different once it was apparent they couldn't stop the run (and it was apparent in the 1st half.)
  9. Forget about measuring him against Bruce - measure him against the other top DEs in today's NFL. So far this season I wouldn't consider him a top tier DE, which is what most of us were hoping for. I'm not calling him a bust or saying his signing was a mistake, hell, we're only 4 games into this thing. But if his play doesn't improve dramatically by year's end this will be a signing the Bills will regret.
  10. Fred Jackson does everything better than Spiller other than having break-away speed. Why is break away speed needed at the goal line? Are you suggesting that Spiller does a better job reading blocks, finding a crease, hitting it hard and moving the pile if need be? Because I've yet to see him do any of those things anywhere near the level that Jackson does.
  11. The guy in the SUV had a ton of room to pass - his need to pass wasn't why he was honking. Hell, other cars passed the SUV and the bikes to get around them. I hate douchebag bike riders too but if I was on that bike there's no way I'm moving over and giving that guy the satisfaction of having chased me off the road. I'd keep riding along right on the line just like those guys did even if the guy honked for 20 miles.
  12. Who else's fault would it be?
  13. Watch other QBs - they miss WR badly too. I was watching the Giants game this week and Eli misses guys badly all the time. This isn't the problem. The biggest problem I see that Fitz does differently than top QBs is that he doesn't know when to throw the ball away and move on to the next play. Watch the good QBs play - the moment the play starts going south a guy like Brady or Manning just throw the ball into the dirt near a WR and move on. This prevents the big mistakes by forcing the ball. I can't think of the last time I saw Fitz give up on a play and just throw it away. If he could ever learn to do that the Bills would be much better off.
  14. Defense is all about attitude. The leaders of the D need to get these guys pumped up and ready to go out and dominate - I'm not sure a coach can do it (particularly from the booth...) Part of what makes Ray Lewis so good isn't just his play, its how he inspires everybody around him to play with aggression.
  15. Hey, just because you've moved on to the acceptance step doesn't mean other people aren't still in the anger stage. Everybody moves through grieving at their own pace!
  16. This - they've both done it in the past with other QBs and it's pretty obvious that's what they'd do with Fitz. I love that the OP thinks they'd have kept VY and made him the starter. Yeah, a guy who is OUT OF THE LEAGUE would be the starter if a great coach were coaching the Bills...
  17. Be careful what you wish for. Bills current defensive rank: 27th Giants defensive rank last year: 27th
  18. Jackson might not have been great running the ball (though the OL was horrible for both Spiller and Jackson) but he made two crucial third and long plays to extend drives that ended up in TDs. Without those plays the Bills send up punting on those drives.
  19. If you play D and your name isn't Byrd or Gilmore I think you'll have your turn at the whipping post this week.
  20. Man, people are piling on Kyle Williams now? The guy's a stud, despite his showing yesterday.
  21. Amateur hour year 12 is more like it.
  22. Nah I was saying, "why isn't Freddie in there" the moment I saw Spiller in the game. It made no sense in that situation, even before the fumble.
  23. On the bright side, Bills have turned the ball over 3 times yet somehow still have the lead.
  24. NS, why is Spiller getting goal line carries? Fred is the master of lowering his pads and hitting the tiny crease. Spiller is not.
