This is a very smart move by the Bills. We are not interested in guys that are only here for the cash. We don't care how much potential they have. You never will win a championship with pure mercenaries. You have to love the game more than the money. Peters has shown his tru colors. Let him sit out the year. fine him and trade him!.

Evans is here and in camp. It's an entirely different situation. Peters has made it clear he does not care about this team, this city or the whole NFL. Peters can site out his career for all i care about him.

I think that is true. But he now has people around him who should be giving him good advice on how to work within the system. Maybe he made a mistake. That is seldom fatal unless you compound the mistake. Marshawn is at a fork in road. He can take the Thurman Thomas path or the OJ path.

Suspension or no suspension whoever knows anything needs to come clean and bring the issue to a resolution . Otherwise he has a blot on his name and a potential blackmail situation for the next 7 year or the end of the Statute of limitations. The team, the fans and the league need this resolved.

This matter needs a resolution and it needs to come prior to the season. Lynch's reputation is on the line. There is more though. What's the statute of limitations 7 years? There were several people in car. Are they all going to keep quiet for that length of time? Will some Bills player be subect to blackmail? "Shave some points" or I turn you in? This needs a resolution for Lynch's sake , the Bills, the fans, the league and the victim.

uh Peters is under contract for the next 3 years plus. His choice is to play or retire.

I really like Jason Peters. I think he should get a raise and he will .....eventually. The answer this year is no Jason we don't do that!

So just exactly how do you run a franchise with a salary cap in place when you have to renegotiate contracts annually. What happens when and if we go 10 and 6? now we have 5-6 players who are locker room cancers. I would not renegotiate any contracts with less than two years to go. One exception i would make is that to add a provision that if Peters makes the Pro Bowl again he gets a bonus. If he makes it again he gets another bonus. Those escalators may already be in his deal.

Evans needs a new contract his situation is entirely different because of the expiration date but Peters is another story. So let's say next year we go 10-6. 8-9 players agents call and say no way we play under the existing deal. Bills say no can do, we would be out of cap room.. Agents reply in unison "baloney you did for Peters." Bills reply "we like Peters better than you"? result Locker room becomes a 3 ring circus. The old way was pretty simple. Sorry we don't renegotiate contracts until the year before they expire. NO EXCEPTIONS even if we have a man crush on you. What would Peters give us more years? That would be meaningless. He could do the same thing again. How would you ever build a championship when there is a cap?

Lets just put everyone on a 2 year deal. Long term deals clearly mean nothing. If a player has a 3, 4 or 5 year contract and he exceeds expectations then he wants a new deal. Why bother with long term contracts at all? Seems like a waste of time to me. Have we reached an era in pro sports where, "commitment" a promise or a contract is totally meaningless. Imagine if we ran the rest of the world that way.
