While you have in general hit the mark, we are more complicated wiyh English/French and perhaps surprisingly to you, less tolerant towards Muslim religion, more concerned about cultural change. When our election occurs this month, regardless of the winner, Canada will likely head to Europe, Asia, China, India for trade, even South America. Trade opportunities gave already begun. Canada will cut our trade with US by 50%. Oil is already heading to China, LNG is heading to Europe effective June. Even a trade deal will not change that, we already have a deal that Trump ignored.

But remember, it was America that went to China and gave them business. It is America who has enjoyed cheap prices on many goods from clothes to electronics to steel, to rubber gloves, condoms, packaging, glass, dishes , etc etc.

I do not support any violence in protesting. Once violence is used events are then actually war. However there is one particular form that I find acceptable if any far left protestors or far right protestors feel the need. That would be pouring gasoline on themselves, lighting a match. You are correct here, and only politics can make one critical of the effort.
