Recession is upon us - disastrous economic data
Niagara Bill replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There is about to be far more than a tariff war between 2 previous friends. With trump about to raise tariff on Canadian lumber to 34.5% from 14.5% the push back will be immense against the orange skerge. I cannot even imagine the reaction that will happen. I cannot even phathom the depth of the orange lies this man is telling. if you dont want the lumber, dont buy it. We will NEVER have the relationship that once existed. I voted against a stronger tie to Europe and France/ England 30 years ago. I was wrong. -

While he us not tripping up the stairs on Airforce 1, he certainly is experiencing. He attention span is shirt, he covers it with repeated rants using the same phrases, he doesn't sleep, he craves attention, praise, even worship. Most of all he is obsessed with revenge. Every good Christian knows this is not healthy. -

Can you find anyone who can explain why Trump wants to gave the world lose trillions of dollars and force a depression across the globe. And because he can and because they have been mean to us are not answers. -
London's population is greater than 50% born outside England. They already gave a firm of Sharia law in some circumstances. They are the example of where you do not want to be. The Christian Muslim war has been ongoing since 12th century. Christians believed that civilization had brought this to an end. It has not ended.

Maga supporters have lost the right to judge other countries after April 2. You have turned on all your friends and allies. You have proved to the world to be untrustworthy, Whether a country is socialist, commie, fascist, your judgement is no longer important. You are not the leader, you gave up that right to prove only money matters.

As is yours! And then tossed.

But destroying the world economy and isolating the US will be the result. Every item and reason you listed I could have supported, maybe nit I the manner chosen, but definitely issues needing to be fixed. This tariff bomb will change the world, and not for the better.

Neither Biden or Harris would have attempted a reset. Not many would. It is not what, it is how. It will be the pain caused because of the method, not the direction. It is the reputation of the country. It is the good will built and now squandered. It is the leadership once unquestioned, now unwanted and unaccepted. It is the childish name calling, the threats, the pictures of tough guy Vance pointing fingers and threats at 56,800 people in Greenland. This is the way of Putin not a US President. Trump is not a leader, he is dictator. He has no desire the help heal his country's split, or lead the world. Only one thing is his mind. $$$$

Such a very sad situation. The once great, maybe greatest country, once greatest democracy finds it self in need of a reset, particularly in financial spending and debt areas, immigration controls areas, and with all the compassion the USA has historically shown, with all the goodwill the USA has built over a century, with all the strong alliances the USA had formed in the past 150 years, the USA could not find a way of accomplishing this, discussing this, sharing this, without destroying its legacy, without punishing her friends, allies, without internal conflicts which we all know will lead to bad times, without forcing much of its population into recession, maybe depression. 70 years ago the US citizens died for Vietnam, led Vietnam into the world, presented them opportunity to be free, and now destroys them financially without so much as a discussion, without finding a mutual pac. The same people they fought beside. Rugs that the US laid, pulled without consideration of talk, or discussion or even an ultimatum. This has occurred around the globe. The threat of global recession, or depression lays at the feet of the US. Nobody disputes change, nobody disputes the present may be unsustainable, but USA leadership has found it necessary, even enjoyable, to pull that jointly laid rug, while throwing shovels of ***** onto their past friends and allies, even threats of greater actions. Sad.

Trump’s glorious Golden Age of America is here

Tax havens Isn't it the purpose of companies to make money for owners and or share holders -
Because Putin will not just walk away, that us why he drafted 160,000. Puyin loves trump weakening Europe, he would let that hit for a short time, then start again. Giving Russia a reward for the invasion is not a good move. He can only be rewarded when he moves back to 2022. But hard to imagine the value of harming the economies of friends then helping your enemy, unless of course there is another alternative... Sorry, I am not part of the ingroup, TDS?
-
No! That would only be temporary with Russia. It would not be what is best for allies in Europe as they are now being punished economically. If you cannot see that direction is dangerous and questionable then you need to step back and review your reasoning. If it is just to unquestionably support to trump, then no sense discussing.

The amount of porkbarreling, DEI, etc has been unreal. Just think fir 1 min, at the number of major universities in the country. Just 1 of those, Columbia received $800,000, 000 per yr in grants and funding yet charges unbelievable tuition. How is this possible. Where could they possibly spend that much and get value. But turning on friendly nations, punishing friendly nations, threatening friendly nations is not required to fix over spending inside your country.
-
More likely steel, which Russia has no market for, and oil/gas. Just like the cease fire in Black Sea, an area Ukraine controlled, didn't need, but Russia really needed to ship through. Ukraine does not ship through Black Sea. Watch fir trade to begin between Russia and US. Trump will seemingly offer it as a help to bring cease fire. It us more than that. Imagine, punishing Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, Sweden but trading with Russia. When this occurs...the world knows, then 51st state, Greenland anti NATO is real. We are close. Elections are at risk.

Let's look, at the alternate view here. Pronouncement and actions NATO members must spend more on military. US will not continue to support Nato without other nations doing there part at 2.0% min All members increase their spending and countries like Poland up to 4%, new planes, even investing in US manufacturing with Boeing etc. Then statements about Europe needs to defend themselves, cannot count on US Then failure in dealing with Putin as Putin ignores cease fire except Black Sea which Russia needed and Ukraine did not. Then put Europe and Nato members Into economic stress as they prepare to spend extra on military, to prepare to defend against Russia Russia drafts more into army 160,000, now at 1,500,000 Russia raises military spending tp 40% (yes 40%) of GDP. World economy be forced into chaos, potential recession or more. Who benefits the most Putin The former leader of the free world has abdicated. The former leader of the free world has taken steps to economically weaken former partners The former leader of the free world has even put his country in a position of economic uncertainty (maybe long term good, not sure) The former leader of the free world has openly threatened former friendly partners Who benefits Putin

1. I Vote in Canada, I am a fiscal conservative. I detest woke. Immigration is out of control. Religion is too strong in our countries, 2. You will not see Vance in 28, you will be either in civil war or elections will be cancelled 3. It is often a trick of dictators to create external threats to take greater control internally...and trump is doing his best 4. Dictators also find internal enemies to blame and begin using the excuse to limit freedoms and the rule of justice and law. That started Jan 6. 5. While you don't love everything that Trump does, you must watch the guardrails to democracy that he is removing. Congress is non existence. Blaming judges, question the rules of law, ignoring your own laws regarding immigrants, greencards, visas, executive orders replacing congressional bills, lose of trustworthiness by other nations etc etc. US oligarchs have taken power...of the government. While democrats regulation over reach has to be undone, not by Oligarchs, that is Russia, not America. Even the republican controlled congress isn't involved in removing regulations. 6. Biden should never have been elected, Harris is a joke and gutless, Vance is a bully and a joke, blue suits and red ties are the new brown shirts, politicians always stretch the truth, but some now get cheers for outright lying. 7. America had greatness that went way too far left. America no longer has greatness in the eyes of the world as they have shown to be untrustworthy and threatening. I just hope your congress grows some balls. A terrible situation when Bernie Sanders is the only voice, and he sounds reasonable.
