I used to work for a company that PTO and Sick Days were separate. PTO could carry over until you reached a certain number of days (I think it was about 4 weeks worth). Sick Days you would lose at the end of the year. So I, and others, would check with the boss if it was okay that we would "be sick" some day coming up. He would generally agree that it was okay, just remind him the day before.

Similar story to yours Boyst. When I was installing security systems at hospitals, we had one device that would be installed on the roof of the elevator cans. Easiest way to do it is bring the elevator up so the roof was about even with one of the hallway floors. Well one location, when the maintance guy was bring it up, he stopped it about 3 feet short. So I decided I’d just jump down on to it. As I’m in mid jump I hear a scream behind me. One of the nurses thought I was jumping into an empty elevator shaft.

Buffalo to Boston is not a day trip unless you fly, and even then it's cutting it close. You'd be better off finding a good bar in Buffalo and watching the game there. From Syracuse it's about a seven hour drive, add on two more hours or more coming from Buffalo, and you're looking at 18-20 hours of just driving. Maybe this will help, it's a map of NY comparing it to England. You have to travel completely across NY before even getting to the Massachusetts border, then drive almost the entire length of Mass to get to Foxboro.
