Obama claims that he got into college (Occidental, Columbia, Harvard) on the merit of his scholarship. I think he is lying. Release your college transcripts Mr. President and prove that you didn't apply to college, get accepted, and receive aid portraying yourself as a native of Kenya. Do you see how stoopid it sounds now? I really need to stay away from this forum. Wow, the US Olympic Committe is funded by tax dollars?!?!?!?! SCANDAL . . . Better tell Harry Reid . . . You do realize that all of the same resources were available to the Olympic committee prior to Romney taking over the SLC Games right? -

As stupid as this is, I'm beginning to get a little concerned. Eventually, the Obummer camp is gonna find a piece of spaghetti that actually sticks to the fridge. On any sane planet, this is God-awfully stooo-pid non-story is dismissed for exactly what it is: A ploy to distract the weekend news cycle from discussing Obummer's economy, unemployment, jobs, etc. However, because of the slant of the media, stories like these will continue to have legs as the Dems and their media allies look for something/anything that they can use to disqualify Romnney as a candidate prior to the Republican convention. If they're still neck n' neck at the end of this month, then Romney goes on to win, cuz there is precious little that Obama can point to as any type of successful achievement. And Romney gets the key to his campaign warchest . . . However, if just one of these bullcrap arguments sticks, then the ballgame may be over before it even begins. I know that there are fools like Park and PastaJoe who eat this garbage for dinner and think it makes them crap thunder, but I worry about the true moderates and independents. The constant barrage of anti-Mitt stories from so-called trustworthy news sites like WAPO, the NYT, NBC, ABC, ad nauseum eventually has to take a toll, does it not? I read that MSNBC is stating todat that unemployment going from 8.2 to 8.3% is good for the economy. Wait . . what?? -

The Dow is up 200 because of anticipation of yet another dismal jobs report and that, in reaction, the Fed will release more dollars into the economy. Did ANYONE here take Economics?? -

How about we start with reducing the budget defecit by half in Mass, dropping unemployment by a few clicks, and actually LEADING a bi-partisan government (republican governeor with 86% Democrats in Mass Legislature) as opposed to telling his opponents, "Hey, I won." On the business side, look at Staples and Dunkin Donuts . . . -

You do whatever you have to do to convince yourself that obummer is doing well. Can you point to anything that the POTUS has done that can even mildly be considered a success? I know that you're going to come back with GM, but I' m telling you not to waste your breath... I am really looking forward to the Romney camp being able to use their campaign funds to paint this loser for the amateur he is.... -

Fantasy Football Team Names
Southern McButterpants. replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Fantasy drafts obviously occur in summer. During the summer, I like to drink Cosmopolitans. Not the manliest drink on earth, but 4-5 'em will kick your little hiney. So, one year the draft was at my house, I'm drinking Cosmo's and the fellers are ragging on me for drinking a pink beverage. Thus was born: Girl Drink Drunk. A fine Kids in the Hall sketch inspired the name... -
A million years ago, my grandpa would give me a sip of his beer, a puff of his cigar and call me his kitten. Sigh.

More problems for Mitt
Southern McButterpants. replied to tomato can's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Late to the party but let me see if I've got this straight. Company in Chicago struggles to compete in this economy. Rather than shut-down, said company decides to outsource labor to wherever. Numbskulls with no understanding of macro-economics feel that shareholders should hang on to current, unsustainable situation, bleed cash, eventually go BK, liquidate assets, everyone loses their job, Pension Guarantee fund picks up the cost of the workers pensions, taxpayers hold the bag. Did I miss anything? -
A Heartbeat Away From the Presidency

More comedy gold from the most transparent administration in history. -
Your political argument sucks. Bam "bailed" bailed out GM n Chrysler so that the UAW would end up holding the golden purse strings at the expense of the shareholders (the 1%?). Romney wanted them to go BK so that they would be relieved of their pension burden, and their debt. Your hero just did it in a bass awkward manner that allowed the union to walk away with millions, maybe billions of tax dollars and a stake in the company. Obama didn't save the auto industry, he saved the UAW.

No Wonder The Economy Sucks!
Southern McButterpants. replied to Duck_dodgers007's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This forum is an indictment of the American education system and the teaching of economics (or lack thereof); along with the constant drumbeat of liberal propaganda by overwhelmingly left-leaning instructors. Oh no! This money is in the hands of the "Job Creators" and if any of it goes to the governments that actually printed and issued the money in the first place it wouldn't be creating jobs....in the off shore accounts areas I don't even know what that is supposed to mean . . . -
It's like listening to a radio talk show, or HBO's Newsroom... Anytime someone professes to be a Republic, my scepto-meter goes on alert. You "were" a young republican, but now that a epublican governor is dismantling the last 60-100 years of liberal, pro-union, pro-big government policies, he's lying. OK . . . . And were you in a coma while growing up in WNY? How does anyone think Buffalo and WNY were bastions of fiscal conservatism and small government?

Do you live in this country? Do you have a job? In order to have a VALID job in the US, you need to provide a SSN and govt issued ID within 72 hours of accepting a position or the employer must separate. This is an invalid argument. Anyone who already has a job already has sufficient ID to vote. I call bullcrap.
-
I may be late to the party, but since YOU insist that MILLIONS of people will be disenfranchised as a result of voter ID, please provide ANY proof that these people do not currently have any form of government issued ID. How do these poor people get healthcare? Buy beer? Get any form of government assistance? Your arguments are asinine. I am truly dumbfounded that people think this way, and are prepared to defend a position such as this over and over and over.
