  1. If they arrested him I'm guessing they have more than just a story from the girl. There has to be some physical evidence or evidence he gave them during an interrogation. I wonder if they're awaiting DNA test results?
  2. Thanks! After I go out of my way every day to be nice to you, you, you treat me like this!!!
  3. Without looking into it I'm guessing that PS time isn't counted as roster time. I think this also works with players ability to hit FA. Time spent on the PS doesn't count toward their accrued time toward becoming a FA.
  4. I'm sorry Deerball, I won't let it happen again.
  5. What a dumbass this guy was. Authorities are calling him a wannabe. Not the sharpest tool in the shed though. Link The source, who did not explain how Shahzad had attempted to set off the bomb, said he then took a number of turns and wound up entering Times Square by driving south down Seventh Avenue. It's unclear why Shahzad left the Pathfinder's engine running and hazard lights blinking. But because of an incredible goof, Shahzad couldn't use his escape car. He had accidentally left the keys to that vehicle in the Pathfinder that he thought was about to blow up, the source said. He apparently went to a train station, where he boarded a Metro North train back to Connecticut. Another law enforcement source told CNN that investigators found a train receipt used by Shahzad that is stamped about 7 p.m., a half hour after a witness notified authorities that the car in Times Square was filing with smoke. Sources say investigators believe he ran to catch the train that pulled out around 7 or 7:15 Saturday night. Thank God he's an idiot. Others may not be so stupid.
  6. Good article, thanks. DB Very much so. I don't care who wins the competition as long as they're a very solid or better QB. Brohm's got everything he needs. He just needs to put it together at this level.
  7. This is funnier than the sixty minutes video parody. It's funny because it really happened;
  8. I just watched that. It's really effing funny!!!! I think it's spot on too!
  9. Conan's contract was up. He had a few options. One of which would be to move his show to CBS following Letterman and then eventually take over The Late Show when Dave left. NBC didn't want that to happen so they promised O'Brien he'd get The Tonight Show in 5 years. LENO AGREED!! When Leno took over from Carson NBC had a stinker on their hands. He had a lot of work to do in order to make the show a success. He didn't have any serious competition to go up against and when Letterman left he started kicking Leno's ass in the ratings. It wasn't until Hugh Grant came on to talk about his prostitute problem that Leno started beating Letterman. Leno had a long time to get his doodoo together. He knifed O'Brien in the back in order to get the show back. I know people who've met and spoken to Leno at length and I've only heard good things about him but his actions in this deal are deplorable. Link On Tuesday Leno showed a fake Facebook page that belonged to the failed TS bomber. Under fans of, he had listed team CoCo.
  10. There are documented accounts of severe head injuries that have led to drastic personality changes, this one, IMO, is not one of them. (I'm going by memory) I seem to recall being taught in a psychology course that there was some dude back in the 1800's who's job it was to tamp down explosives while working the for the railroad. One day as he tamped down on the charge it went off and rammed the tamping rod into his skull and brain. After that the guy miraculously survived but his former jovial personality was replaced with a very dark and angry one. The belief is that he may have damaged areas of the brain that controlled his darker side. I always thought it was probably just because he got pissed off when people started laughing and pointing while he ran around screaming with a pole lodged in his head. JMO Jarts anyone?
  11. For who? The suspect or cops? It seems to me that this was by far the safest way for the cops to immobilize him. What he said. It's up to the guy as to what consequences he wants to endure. Stepping on the field means he's willing to face the legal and dangerous consequences of that. Refusing to cooperate with a police officer means he's willing to face the legal and dangerous consequences of that. How many times, on your job, have you had to quickly analyze everything you're about to do to make sure you're not killed? For police it's several times a week to several times a day. Link For starters, it is important to know that more police officers are killed each year while conducting traffic stops than during any other police function. This means that in a police officer's mind, a traffic stop is more deadly than a bank robbery, a domestic disturbance or even a bar fight. Because of this statistic, officers are trained to approach each vehicle with due care and caution. The reason you can feel relatively safe in this society is due to what LE officers do everyday. They put their lives on the line for you and your family to try to keep this country safe. You'd think a little respect wouldn't be a bad thing. Your inability to understand that LE officers have lives, limbs and families makes you come across like a very uncaring person. You seem to care about this kid but not about the officers pursuing him. If one or the other had to get hurt in a situation like this who would you prefer to see hurt? I'd say the kid hands down. Who would you rather see? Once again, if you don't want to deal with the consequences don't break the law. If he had stayed sitting in the stands the whole night he never would have been tased. So who's fault is it that he got tased?
  12. Butt kicking?! I have no idea what you're talking about. I guess I get some solace from your opinion on my post. Anyhoo, don't cry when I kick your ass this year.
  13. Before the taser cops put their own lives and limbs in greater danger. The taser doesn't make them have to do that as much anymore. You can't be seriously comparing being tased for no reason with being tased after repeated verbal attempts have been ignored can you? If I was jaywalking and a cop told me to get down, I'd get down and then I'd follow the rest of his orders. I'm willing to bet that I wouldn't be tased in any situation where I cooperated with law enforcement. What is so hard to understand about the correlation between breaking the law and consequences? If you break the law by refusing to surrender to a police offficer then bad doodoo is gonna happen. If you don't like it. Don't resist. From your link; Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey examined video of the arrest and determined that the officer acted within department guidelines, which allow officers to use Tasers on fleeing suspects. If the Phillies want to limit their access to only helping when being asked then great, but it doesn't change my opinion one bit.
  14. Great read, thanks! First, the intent with the stun gun is not to kill the subject. If it occasionally does, oh well. Don't disobey an officer and you won't get tased. What is so hard to understand about that? It seems you're making excuses for the bad guys. How long do you suggest people should be allowed to run around on a field during a game should be? Just let 'em go til they're tired out? How about this. Obey the law and there isn't a problem!!! You make it sound like the kid wasn't doing anything bad at all. You're aren't looking through the eyes of a cop or security guard. You might think you know what his intentions are but you don't know what his intentions are.
  15. During the summers when I was in college I'd pump gas at a local gas station (Yes, I'm that old) and any time some dickheaded customer would go off on one of the guys there he'd just keep apologizing til it became completely meaningless. It was his way of coping with the Leonidas's of the world.
  16. I hope you're kidding. Are you really that big of a douche? How about asking them to fix the pizza if it's a correctable mistake or just not going there anymore. Yelling at the cashier?! Seriously?
  17. So you know it was a stupid question and yet let the rest happen?
  18. I'm sure he won't understand that post or even care to. JMO
  19. My take is that he knows what Germany is he just doesn't know what German is.
  20. Bombing suspect was expecting police when he was arrested on the airplane. The way the no flight list will be handled in the future is likely to change now too. Good article and video here; LINK "I was expecting you. Are you NYPD or FBI?" Faisal Shahzad asked a law enforcement official when he was seized on a plane late Monday -- a dramatic arrest minutes before the Emirates passenger jet was to depart from John F. Kennedy International Airport for Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The sources, directly involved in the investigation of the botched bombing attempt on Saturday night, told CNN that Shahzad suspected authorities were on to him after news reports that he allegedly bought a vehicle in Connecticut. Shahzad, arrested by New York detectives and FBI agents, is now in federal custody. He was able to board Emirates Flight 202 late Monday despite being put on a no-fly list earlier in the day, leading some to question whether the no-fly list worked. This reminds me of David Berkowitz's famous "What took ya so long" comment to police. Well Al Quaeda has just come out and said they have operatives here and are going to be striking soon. We'll see how well LE does with that now. From the article linked above; A Pakistani Taliban spokesman said Wednesday his group has no link to Shahzad, but he warned that its fighters have been sent to the United States and the "results" of that decision will soon be evident. Glad to hear your Mom's doing well.
  21. Were these supposed deadly tasings the result of the person being tased acting like an idiot, refusing to obey law and law officers? If so then it's their fault not the cops. When a cop tases a guy it's not with the intent to kill. In fact in a lot cases it's to keep them from having to kill them. Simple fact; Don't break the law and you won't get tased. 'Nuff said.
  22. Oh well then, I guess two SB rings give you the right to behave any way you want. I read the linked article but not the full SI article yet but from the sound of the review BR is an uber prick. I love the "Do you know who I am!!" attitude of celebrities. Just STFU and be happy a lot of people make your life so nice and be thankful for it, not a douche.
  23. I still think getting Neil Young balances it out.
  24. It seems a large segment of society comes out with "Why did they have to _______ when all he was doing was ________ it's just excessive. They didn't need to do that. My answer to that would be. Why did he ________________ when he knew it was illegal? Why didn't he ___________ after being told several times to do so? A big part of what's wrong with this society is people making excuses for those who receive the consequences of knowingly stupid decisions. In Rochester a cop shot a guy who was holding a butcher knife and refused to drop it. I wasn't there but the reporting of the incident makes it sound perfectly justifiable to me. Of course the friends and family and uber liberals cry about it not being necessary. (The guy was shot in the leg BTW) He NEVER would have been SHOT if he had DROPPED the knife!!! Why do they feel it was necessary for him to hold on to the knife?
