  1. What a dumbass that redneck is. "Why are you doing this to me?"
  2. It seems some people think that new technology that makes a job easier should be ignored. IMO, that's just dumb. The problem is that nobody really gives a crap about what a lot of people say, for good reason, and that just makes them angrier and stupider. I was thinking the same thing. Privileges could be revoked at any time also. I've never percieved that attitude from him. Excellent analogy. Fantastic analogy!
  3. The bottom line is that if somebody wants to avoid any consequences then stay in the stands. I'm so sick of people defending idiots who get hurt in the course of their brain dead stunts. There is no precedent for something that hasn't happened before. This may end up being the precedent for future problems. It doesn't need to be in law that it's ok. It just needs to be in law that it's not ok. Where in law does it say it isn't ok? What he said! If the kid had broken his arm while being tackled by security there'd be a whole new bunch of whiners crying about how they shouldn't have tackled him.
  4. Whatever happened to following the rules?
  5. Here's a better video of thing; Evidently they are getting some heat for using the taser. It seems some people think it was too much force. My answer to that is that if he had stayed in the stands he never would have been tasered.
  6. I didn't know news stories had to go on the PPP.
  7. I believe he has dual citizenship. I haven't heard anything about where he was born yet.
  8. A portfolio like yours?! Did you even bother to read the story of the scam the guy dealt with that I posted? Go back and read it. It's informative. I'm sure there's a reason for that. Think about it.
  9. Linky New York (CNN) -- The suspect in the failed Times Square car bombing has admitted involvement in what authorities have now labeled "a terrorist plot," Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday. Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old Pakistani-American, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. ET Monday at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport moments before he was to fly to Pakistan via Dubai. He is to appear in federal court in Manhattan later Tuesday.
  10. Link (CNN) -- Investigators in Pakistan have arrested a number of suspects in the investigation into a failed car bombing in Times Square, a Pakistani intelligence source said Tuesday. They arrested two or three people after raiding a house where the Times Square bombing suspect, Faisal Shahzad, is believed to have stayed during a recent visit to Pakistan, the source said. The house is in the Nazimabad district of Karachi, Pakistan, the source said. Meanwhile, authorities digging for details in the botched Times Square bombing attempt have gathered a hand-drawn map, a handgun and ammunition, and fertilizer -- all items linked the a Pakistani-American suspect arrested in the case.
  11. Link Mr. Shahzad also told the authorities that he had acted alone, but hours after he was arrested, security officials in Karachi, Pakistan, said they arrested a Pakistani man who had spent time with Mr. Shahzad during a recent visit there. Investigators said they arrested the man, Muhammad Rehan, in a mosque in the North Nazimabad area just after morning prayers. The mosque is known for its links with the militant group Jaish-e-Muhammad.
  12. Link What to watch for N.Y. bomb suspect's hearing Editor's note: CNN's Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin takes a look at what we can expect to see out of today's hearing in connection with the Times Square bomb plot. Much of what will happen to Faisal Shahzad in federal district court today is predictable. One very important part is not. Shahzad will probably be arraigned on a variety of charges, including use of an incendiary device and terrorism. He will be assigned a lawyer. He will not - obviously - be released on bail. The charges are likely to change and be expanded when the case is presented to a grand jury, but Shahzad will not be eligible for the death penalty because (fortunately) no one died as a result of his actions. The big unanswered question is whether Shahzad will be charged with conspiracy. The authorities clearly believe that he was a central figure in the plot to bomb Times Square, but what's unknown is if they believe that he acted alone. If he was not alone, the question then is whether his alleged co-conspirators are also in custody. We'll know more about this critical question after Shahzad appears in court today.
  13. According to a source familiar with the investigation, the individuals didn't have the expertise to detonate a parked Nissan Pathfinder containing propane tanks, fertilizer and gasoline. Authorities focused on Shahzad when they traced evidence to him from the sale of the Nissan Pathfinder used in the failed attack -- information considered the linchpin of the case. The Nissan Pathfinder had its vehicle identification number removed from the dashboard. Police climbed under the SUV and retrieved the VIN from the bottom of its engine block. This breakthrough led investigators to the vehicle's registered owner and then on to Shahzad, who purchased the SUV, an official said. The Nissan Pathfinder was sold three weeks ago in a cash deal with no paperwork exchanged, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said Monday. The $1,800 deal was closed at a Connecticut shopping mall, where the buyer handed over the money and drove off, the source said. Cell phone calls conducted for the purchase of the vehicle helped lead police to the suspect, law enforcement sources said. Fortunately bombers are really stupid. IIRC, In the WTC bombing in the early 90's police were able to get the vin number from a piece of the truck that survived the bomb. The police were able to trace the number to the Ryder Truck rental shop and it just so happened when they called the guys who had rented it were on the phone asking for their deposit back. They said it had been stolen. Police told the manager to offer to give the money back and when they showed up for the deposit they were arrested!

  21. Link Foul Audition The second of the two acting scams I actually came face to face with is about a little episode that has to do with an audition I was invited to one Saturday afternoon. I had worked on a film as an extra one day in late June. In all the downtime, I was sitting there talking to Karen when someone touched me on the shoulder. He told me he was a producer/director who was here that day with his wife and daughter, who were doing extra work. He said he thought my look would be good for a future project he was working on and that he was holding auditions that Saturday. When he asked if I would like to come and audition, I said yes and thought that this is one of the reasons I wanted to do extra work right now, because of the possible contacts. However, I wondered how legit this guy was. He had told me that the audition announcement was in that week’s Backstage. I checked and it was. I was excited that someone had actually asked me to come and audition personally because of who I was and what I transmitted to him. When I arrived at Ripley Greer Studios on 8th Avenue that Saturday afternoon, I saw a young woman who seemed to be coming from the same audition I was going to. I asked her if she had been to the audition and she said that she had. I then asked her how it went. She told me that she didn’t stay to audition. When I asked her why not, she told me that they were asking people to sign a release form for the use of the audition tapes as well as the actor’s "life story." That sounded very peculiar. She handed me the form and told me I could have it, because she didn’t need it anymore. I thanked her and read the form. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It basically said the actor grants their production company permission to use the film of the actor in any way they choose and that the actor’s image could be freely used in association with different types of programming. In addition, by signing this release form, the actor gives all power to this production company and exempts them from any legal action that might result from the materials provided (the tape) from this audition. The production company also said it had the right to delve into the actor’s personal life story and use that information for the programming. I then saw another girl come downstairs. She immediately pulled out her cell phone. I couldn’t help but overhear part of the conversation. It sounded like she was on the phone with her father, telling him that she just got out of the audition but that she didn’t stay because they asked her to sign a release form. I talked to her after she got off the phone and she was relieved. Her father told her she had done the right thing. She was twenty-one years old. Since the producer had asked me personally, I still went up to the room where they were. When I arrived, his wife was in the reception room. She had been there the day I met her husband while she and her daughter were doing extra work. She gave me two different forms to fill out along with the form I had already seen from the girl downstairs. I asked her if it was obligatory to sign the form. She said she wasn’t sure and that it would be best to talk to the director. I was asked to go into the audition room together with another woman. When I entered the room, the producer I had met was there with his brother, whom I also met that day on the set. I immediately asked if it was obligatory to sign the release form in order to be auditioned, because I told him that I couldn’t sign it. His brother tried to explain to me that it was just so they had permission to give this material to casting directors and to market me. Hmmm. I told him I understood, but that if I were to sign it, we would first have to change the wording. The director told me that it was no problem, which I understood to mean that I could audition anyway. He was polite in telling me that without that signature, he could neither audition me nor take my picture and résumé. I stuck to my decision and turned to leave. He then asked me if I would stay and read the other part for the girl who went in with me. I jumped at the chance. I wanted to satisfy his curiosity and show him what he was missing! He asked me to stay and read for the next woman who came in as well and I did. It was a comical part, and I was having a ball with it. The five people who were in the room were laughing, so I felt like I was doing what they asked me to do. That was it. Never heard from them again, nor did I search them out. It was an interesting experience, and I felt good that I stuck to my decision. My instinct told me that it would have been wrong to sign that paper. I just believe that I didn’t need to sell myself out for any type of job that I might have had. I have pride and I decide how interested I am to do a job, first and foremost.
  22. Am I safe in assuming that your belief of the way this industry works is that actors and actresses are solicited on the streets for their roles? There is no casting call, no keeping of names and personal info. in case they lose an actor. They just send people out to pluck them off the streets? You have no idea how these things work. Because they are on a shoestring budget they have to conserve time and sending people out onto the streets doesn't happen. Can you imagine some guy propositioning a woman to be in a soft core porn? He'd be lucky if he wasn't arrested. Trust me aspiring actresses and actors have agents. In a situation like this they'd just call the last runner up and then if he didn't want it the next runner up. I'm sure they have enough real names to make street approaches unnecessary. If he goes he'll probably be told that in order to hire him he'll have to have some pictures taken of himself. Befrore the production company will agree to hire him for the part. They'll probably tell him they'll keep the pictures on file for any other parts that come up. (no pun intended) They'll probably charge him for the pictures and they'll never be heard from again. It's a too good to be true scenario. If it looks too good to be true it probably is. It's soft core, unnecessary.
  23. Who owns a camcorder and doesn't know how to use the zoom feature? at least you can hear the fans reactions.
