  1. Heres the full text of Palin's message on July 4th. Happy 4th of July from Alaska! Today at 4:55pm On this Independence Day, I am so very proud of all those who have chosen to serve our great nation and I honor their selflessness and the sacrifices of their families, too. If I may, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the last 24 hours and share my thoughts with you. First, I want to thank you for your support and hard work on the values we share. Those values led me to the decision my family and I made. Yesterday, my family and I announced a decision that is in Alaska’s best interest and it always feels good to do what is right. We have accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two – and I am proud of the great team that helped to build these wonderful successes. Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have been my priorities and will remain my priorities. For months now, I have consulted with friends and family, and with the Lieutenant Governor, about what is best for our wonderful state. I even made a few administrative changes over that course in time in preparation for yesterday. We have accomplished so much and there’s much more to do, but my family and I determined after prayerful consideration that sacrificing my title helps Alaska most. And once I decided not to run for re-election, my decision was that much easier – I’ve never been one to waste time or resources. Those who know me know this is the right decision and obvious decision at that, including Senator John McCain. I thank him for his kind, insightful comments. The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the “politics of personal destruction”. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family. I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness! God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference – with you! 1. Her stepping down probably is in Alaska's best interest. - I agree. She shouldn't be governing an ant farm let alone any state. 2. She's obviously not leaving politics altogether. 3. Summary; "Waah, waah, the mainstream media actually thinks there should be a good reason and some intelligence behind a politicians decisions!" Why are they so out of step with the average American "Joe Six-Pack" who expects nothing like that!! 4. Not only is she not leaving politics but she seems to have her eye on something larger in the political realm. Any guesses?
  2. Did you read any of my posts after that one? You're such an idiot. I never said that's what was going on here. I merely pointed out another one of the reasons people kill. It doesn't surprise me you aren't able to process that information.
  3. There are fairly easy ways to diagnose a suicide. If the gun is still in the hand, how close the shot was to the body, how the body fell, the clues at the crime scene etc... etc....
  4. Whoever did this was reallllyyyyy pissed at him. Multiple shots is the work of severe anger. IMO
  5. 4) The sick need to kill.
  6. That's where I'm putting my money right now. Very nice words from Greggo.
  7. He has a lot of political experience, he can tell you what he reads, he has knowledge of foreign diplomacy, his brain is three times larger and he doesn't quit when the going gets tough.
  8. Yeah but I don't think that as many people would go there as read the article. JMO Too true, but he's the enemy!
  9. IMO, quitting before her term ends is something that will never be good for her in any campaign.
  10. But not for long. I'm wondering if this PC was scheduled by her staff for this exact date before MJ died or only because MJ died? Did she want a quiet exit while the media was fixated on something else or was it just coincidence? Thanks.
  11. Maybe they'll play on mud fields! My question too! This looks like must see TV from a kitsch POV!
  12. I know that quote has been attributed to Meese many times but that really doesn't mean anything. I do remember though that he said it while I was in college and it was a big joke to me and my friends. IIRC. Madonna's version is simply a kitschy kind of thing and that's what makes it great!
  13. Cool! Let's see what can happen now!
  14. Thanks a lot. Great article. He'd better put in the stuff about the loans to other AFL teams Ralph made to keep them afloat. This is in no way a criticism of Berman because so many people do it, but I am so tired of the word "humbled" being used. You've just been granted a great honor how does that make anyone feel "humble"? IMO, a much better word is "honored" JMO
  15. Madonna's more fun to look at. A comedian I saw a long time ago said; I'm so sick of seeing Madonna naked I feel like I'm married to her. Linky The Ukrainians should call Ed Meese to help define pornography. After all he had a government program that was tasked with reading and looking at a lot of porn in an effort to define "Porn" Ed Meese of pornography: “I don’t know how to describe it, but I know it when I see it.” And if you want to see true obscene adults-only entertainment, you’re better off watching Sylvester Stallone’s newest installment of the Rambo franchise.
  16. If anyone needs porn that dude does. There aren't too many women who'd want to do the nasty with that! Linky Never know how much I love you Never know how much I care But when you put your arms around me I get a feeling that's hard to bear You give me fever, when you kiss me Fever when you hold me tight Fever in the morning Fever all through the night Sun lights up the day time Moon lights up the night I light up when you call my name And you know I'm gonna treat you right You give me fever, when you kiss me Fever when you hold me tight Fever in the morning Fever all through the night Everybody's got the fever That is something you all know Fever isn't such a new thing Fever Started long ago Romeo loved Juliet Juliet she felt the same When he put his arms around her he said "Julie, baby, you're my flame." Thou giveth fever, when we kisseth Fever with thy flaming youth Fever I'm a fire Fever, yea, I burn forsooth Captain Smith and Pocahontas Had a very mad affair When her daddy tried to kill him She said, "Daddy, oh no, don't you dare." He gives me fever, with his kisses Fever when he holds me tight Fever I'm his missus Daddy won't you treat him right Now you've listened to my story Here's the point that I have made Chicks were born to give you fever Be it fahrenheit or centigrade They give you fever, when you kiss them Fever if you live and learn Fever 'til you sizzle What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn
  17. This is must see TV. The Buffalo stuff alone makes it worth it. I also wonder if some behind the scenes of the "Superstars" program might be part of it. I don't know when it started but a lot of it is in Buffalo.
  18. I say three years for Haynesworth to go off into obscurity. TSN's latest issue has a list of breakout players for 2009. One each for every team. They picked TE to break out for the Bills. They said he makes good decisions and is an accurate passer. I agree with that. Since there was a pick for every team it really doesn't mean that much but I agree, with fingers crossed.
  19. This is odd to say the least. You'd think she would at least finish out her term. I'm not going to speculate as to why but this is damn peculiar.
  20. I have no problem with Butler moving to RT; Linky Butler has more than 30 collegiate starts at right tackle, so for the fourth-year pro it’s a matter of reactivating the motor memory of playing on the edge. Still having started at guard the past two seasons re-acclimating himself will still take some time. I think he has the mobility to handle it. I've also heard he has very long arms which are essential to a tackle. JMO 1. Hangartner 47 out of 50 on the Wonderlic! The Bills are banking on versatility and intelligence with their crew. They all can play multiple positions. Hangartner started games at center and both guard spots for the Panthers last year because of injuries. And they have impressive brains. Walker has an economics degree from California-Berkley. Butler has interned on Capitol Hill during the offseason. Hangartner scored 47 out of a possible 50 (believed to be the highest score ever by a lineman) on the Wonderlic intelligence test before the 2005 draft. Wood turned down a scholarship to play at Columbia. Levitre was academic All-Pac-10, graduating from Oregon State with degrees in finance and sociology. "I think we're going to have a tough unit up front with a bunch of smart guys," Wood said. "From any offensive line coach you talk to, if you got smart, tough guys, you can make it work if the guys come together." 2. I wonder if they would have started Bell this year if it wasn't for so many other line changes. Not targeting a LT during the draft makes me think he may start next year. They're obviously comfortable with him as a backup at the position. 3. Definitely agree. A long term line will pay off over the years to come. If Wood and Levitre pan out as the coaches want then it will be a very good/great line for a long time. Pun #5,027 using Woods name. I'm not worried about Hangartner in the slightest. People also have to realize that TO helps the lineman because teams wont be comfortable putting eight men in the box. With TO and Evans out there look for LB's to be used in coverage so they can double team either TO and/or Evans. JMO
  21. Just a suggestion. It looks like it's a coffee table book.
