I've heard some players say that it doesn't matter if the defense knows what play you're going to run the players still need to be able to execute. I agree. After an offense has been together for a couple of years then I think more plays and subterfuge can be more successful. Thanks for the link.

September 6: General Interest 1915 : First tank produced On this day in 1915, a prototype tank nicknamed Little Willie rolls off the assembly line in England. Little Willie was far from an overnight success. It weighed 14 tons, got stuck in trenches and crawled over rough terrain at only two miles per hour. However, improvements were made to the original prototype and tanks eventually transformed military battlefields. The British developed the tank in response to the trench warfare of World War I. In 1914, a British army colonel named Ernest Swinton and William Hankey, secretary of the Committee for Imperial Defence, championed the idea of an armored vehicle with conveyor-belt-like tracks over its wheels that could break through enemy lines and traverse difficult territory. The men appealed to British navy minister Winston Churchill, who believed in the concept of a "land boat" and organized a Landships Committee to begin developing a prototype. To keep the project secret from enemies, production workers were reportedly told the vehicles they were building would be used to carry water on the battlefield (alternate theories suggest the shells of the new vehicles resembled water tanks). Either way, the new vehicles were shipped in crates labeled "tank" and the name stuck. The first tank prototype, Little Willie, was unveiled in September 1915. Following its underwhelming performance--it was slow, became overheated and couldn’t cross trenches--a second prototype, known as "Big Willie," was produced. By 1916, this armored vehicle was deemed ready for battle and made its debut at the First Battle of the Somme near Courcelette, France, on September 15 of that year. Known as the Mark I, this first batch of tanks was hot, noisy and unwieldy and suffered mechanical malfunctions on the battlefield; nevertheless, people realized the tank's potential. Further design improvements were made and at the Battle of Cambrai in November 1917, 400 Mark IV’s proved much more successful than the Mark I, capturing 8,000 enemy troops and 100 guns. Tanks rapidly became an important military weapon. During World War II, they played a prominent role across numerous battlefields. More recently, tanks have been essential for desert combat during the conflicts in the Persian Gulf. Another interesting example of how things improve over the years.

Maybe part of the meeting was roster cuts. -
Ok, how'd everyone do? Here's my list vs. reality. I see Buggs on the PS and not the 53 man roster and Wendling making the roster for his ST play. JMO ________________________________________________________________________ Cuts In addition to Chambers and Rhodes, Buffalo waived 18 other players. They are listed below. RB Rhodes - Wrong. OL Chambers - Wrong. QB Matt Baker LB Alvin Bowen - Wrong. DE Copeland Bryan - Wrong. TE Tyson DeVree DE Ataefiok Etukeren G Christian Gaddis RB Bruce Hall DB Cary Harris WR C.J. Hawthorne OT Nick Hennessey WR Felton Huggins - Wrong. I did get the Hardy to PUP list right though. DT Derrick Jones DT Corey Mace LB Ryan Manalac TE Jonathan Stupar OL Brandon Rodd, who suffered a sprained knee was waived/injured getting the roster to the required 53. If he can be put on the PS and is then I'd get that one right too. I was also right about Omon and McIntyre making the 53. Out of 18 there were 5 wrong, but I'm gonna give myself +1 for the Hardy Move and -1 for the Youboty move. So my scoring has me 5 wrong out of 18. 73% right.

Final cuts from around the NFL

This is interesting; (from Rotoworld) Erasmus James-DL- Redskins Sep. 5 - 11:21 pm et NFL suspended free agent DE Erasmus James indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of league policy. We're not exactly sure why, but James must have done something to tick Roger Goodell off. The Vikings made him the 18th overall pick in the 2005 draft and it's been all downhill since a torn ACL during the 2006 season. Source: Profootballtalk on NBCSports.com I wonder what he did. -

Linky Actress Kari Byron and husband Paul Urich have welcomed their first child, a daughter - Stella Ruby. According to her Mythbusters costar Grant Imahara’s twitter message, Stella Ruby was born June 28 at 11:35pm after 42 hours of labor, weighing 8lbs., 12oz. He goes on to say that both Kari and baby are in good health. Kari, 34, who announced her pregnancy in February saying “That's right, I'm busting myths for two now", admitted there were some challenges working on the show while pregnant. “If I drop a screwdriver and try to pick it up, sometimes I need help getting back up myself. She also “made a 'Costanza' under [her] desk… to take naps when no one is looking.” -thanks Meredith Ann! -
Link I prefer this one.

I don't think anyone has to tell Jauron that. I think it was probably an "Ok, what the hell are your plans now?" Can someone tell me how the picture relates to the line? -

Ninth? You're way, way off on that number.

Is it your contention that Buffalo couldn't do anything with a guy they had to cut and was picked up by Jacksonville and was then cut in 2006 after only one year and then no other team had any interest in til this year? Yeah, the Bills suck at developing talent compared to the Redskins. If you want to say he was a really stupid draft pick I'll agree but I have no idea how you seem to think it's a reflection on the ability of the Bills to develop talent that doesn't want to develop. The only reason he made the team is because he wanted to make the team. It took three years for him to mature. JMO

Let Aussie, Lana, Cable Lady, Lori, Deerball or the guy who used to be Pyrite Gal start one on their own. -
This guy would be a good pickup for Buffalo IMO; Kynan Forney-G- Chargers Sep. 5 - 7:11 pm et Chargers released G Kynan Forney. It's a surprise move because Forney was thought to have won the job a couple weeks ago. Now it looks like rookie Louis Vasquez will be the starter at right guard.
