+1 The best thing Pyrite has written. I usually skip over posts that long but it held my interest the whole way through. Man less than one year since they cleaned house and your already calling them failures. The scouts probably aren't the problem. The people picking are the problem. Nix started in 2009 and his two drafts have been pretty solid.

The argument that a bunch of guys will want new contracts if Revis gets a new one is weak. I'd give it to him, why not it's an uncapped year, and when they announce his new contract I'd say that he's the best at his position in the league and we really had to do this. That way anybody who hasn't made the pro-bowl will be eliminated from demands and they could also, very easily, tell anyone else that they are not the best player at their position. If he doesn't report today then he can dig for a long, long time. The extra year before FA doesn't matter. He's looking for a long term deal anyway, I would imagine. The problem they have created for themselves now is that if they give in now it looks like they caved to pressure. If they had given him a raise when he first approached it would look like they respected his play and felt he needed to be compensated for outplaying his contract. JMO It's possible, but unlikely, they'd trade him. Before anybody gets too excited I would say there is a 95% chance they wouldn't trade him within the division and a 75% chance they wouldn't trade him within the conference.

I have a feeling that if his name was Dwight Freeney he wouldn't be out for the season, but getting him help is the biggest priority. Is somebody with the name "PushthePile" making gay jokes about others?!
