  1. Hope they spend their money wisely? While they are "low-balling" everbody else in the league now, I sure don't want to hear them pissing and moaning when they are old and crippled. Well, at least they can sell their rings to somebody? What's the story about the first Heisman Trophy winner that did the honorable thing and never turned pro for the money??? Again, hope they spend it wisely? Kudos on the win! In a way I am deeply envious. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is the deeply vindictive ways the Pats get motivated. I can see them doing the Eagle flapping thingy a little, it just seemed that they carried it on too long across many players? I know they feel they get no-respect and that motivates them. It just saddens me that such a talented team has to resort to that?
  2. Wow! That does seem unfair, especially when one conference is far superior to the other!
  3. I would agree if there was a little more time on the clock. That long drive would require most likely over 80 yards in 45 seconds with no time outs. Really #2 was no chance, IMO.
  4. I still like my thought about Kraft being in hock up to his ears and fickle Patsie beaneater fans not filling the seats if they lose!
  5. There was a bad call in that game. Didn't a certain Bill step out of bounds that wasn't called? Hmmmmmm?
  6. EXACTLY! Bledsoe will be the perfect personality to take the step down. This time he will do it without having to lose a spleen! I can't belive the knuckleheads here wnat the Bills to get in another DF/RJ scenario!
  7. Didn't they do that in Vietnam? How 'bout smokes in the WW's (started in the trenches of WWI)? Anyway you look at it, you got paying customers with a habit on returning home! To AB's credit they did do it kind of classy with just the logo at the very, very end. At first, I thought it was gonna be an American Airlines ad?
  8. What they should do his just throw a marching band on the field and throw everyone into a tizzy! It is really sad what the SB has become, such an elitist endeavour. Did anyone catch Jeff Gordon, right before half ordering his dinner? I was impressed!
  9. We are all worried about the gov't socializing us when the NFL is doing it right before our eyes! I surely hope that PMc didn't have to change his words?
  10. The songs he sang, were the lyrics altered by the NFL? I heard something like the NFL had enbedded lyrics. Is this true? Was it the Doors that agreed to change it's lyrics for Ed Sullivan, than when live, they did the original words "Girl, we couldn't get much higher (Light My Fire)?" Or was it a 'Stones song? I thought they "towed the line?" If this is true, I can't believe PMc actually agreed to it? Of course, I didn't watch the show. I turn it off at halftime. ???
  11. Just think: Back when SS was implemented, do you think such privatization talk could have ever floated? Hell NO! I agree SS needs to be tweaked, it has been historically coming! I just can't look at it as a negative thing. Just as DB on the Bills stopped the skid and brought competivness (hahahahah!) and filled stadium seats to bridge the future. WOW! That is a reach comparing DB to SS!
  12. You do have the benefit of being some generations removed from the Great Depression? If this was 1938, not 2005 would you think the same way? Trust is EVERYTHING! And that can quickly tank!
  13. I was thinking the same thing! I had a gut feeling that the loser would score first (which would more than likely be Philly).
  14. I am glad someone got the humor! "Lee Harvey (Brady)! Whennnnn you and your friends stole that cow, and tried to MAKE IT WITH IT? I WANT TO PARTY WITH YOU!"
  15. Deep down inside I wanted Philly to pull it out!
  16. Also: The first Iggle score almost seemed to take people by surprise! It took forever, even one of the announcers said that NE could have been called for defensive holding on the play. Do you think if the pass fell incomplete, they would have called it? Hell no! This is NE we are talking about!
  17. I was doing the math with the clock during the end of the game, crunching the numbers. The risk by going with the onsides seemed way out of wack with what was happening. The odds leaned heavily to the defense stopping NE with a 3 and out, which it did anyway! Why the onsides?. Even while the Iggles were playing slow the last 4:00 minutes, I still had them pegged with two possessions before the game ended, which they did anyway! ???
  18. What do you think of my reasoning above? A team like NE, if they don't win, they seemed screwed if they can't fill the seats. Philly is in the same boat to an extent (with Lincoln Field)... I just have a feeling the Philly fans wouldn't abandon going to the games as much as NE fans would if they started to lose? ???
  19. Bob Kraft is in hock up to his ears. It could be possible? NE stops winning and there could be big problems if they don't fill all the seats with fickle beaneaters! Reading the recent SI article, Kaft acknowledges being a high revenue club. Financing the "Razor" didn't not include any public funds. It was also noted that they arranged special financing that took advantage of historically low interest rates and made a deal with Salomon Smith Barney. This might be old news but, I never knew that! Gee, I am glad that RW runs the Bills they way he does. I wouldn't want all this pressure hanging on the team. Through in losing and empty seats would be deadly!
  20. Maybe McNabb had a lot of money bet in Vegas? Maybe some people on the Eagles were on the take? Sheeeesh!
  21. King (I think) in SI summed it up: "Brady is a GOOD Qb made GREAT by SB success."
  22. But at least they could keep their players, pay them what they want and build into a winning team from scratch. Today the parity heap fills their seats. Salary cap will bring mediocrity and a few teams with a winning reputation will always get the "winning" good players because they will restucture to be on a "winner" What the Pats figured out is how to beat the salary cap downfalls! It might be good or bad, they are bucking the norm and players are accepting under fair market value. They are "low balling" all of us. Watch! Time will tell. As much as Bruschi is a great guy, he is setting the mode. The owners can't lose!
  23. Stuff like that usually brings people out of the closet. We wouldn't want that to happen!
  24. You don't think they took a "win one for the Gipper" approach? BB is always looking to rally the guys in some way? Tragic events bring the best out of people!
