  1. I understand what you said. I think TD has something "cooking?" If not? I see a step back. To go it alone with JP is just too risky. I hope it works, yet I am not holding my breath.
  2. I think this was the best post ever. You said nothing bad, yet did it by saying something nice? Was the "polished public speaker" necessary? let me guess? You talk with a "forked tongue?"
  3. I also agree. I can see the change for what it was. What would have you taken? The Fergy years or change during it for the unknown? That is a hard choice for me. I still believe this goes way to the top (RW) and we aren't many years away from the DF/RJ debacle. I think, IMO, this team pulls a Halas and doesn't TRULY win until it is time. Others out there: These are just my 2 cents, no need to flame.
  4. Good post. He is still 4-3 in playoff games. It has only been 3 years since 3-13. He must of gave all that great hope the past 3 years? What was it? Who blew the Jax game on the last play? DB is a teamer, he will always be a lightening rod for it during hard times. Now back to that postseason record. The Cardinals are the OLDEST team in the league, YES OLDEST. Older than the Bears, Packers, etc... Their (team since 1920) OVERALL postseason record 3-5! Just some pespective of hardship!
  5. Right! As long as they don't do windows! Sure sounds like they are doing somebody's? Were will your ride be parked at the Ralph on Sunday's?
  6. Totally AGREE Fezmid! It is just amazing how Buffalo and historically the city always seems to FUBAR things and leave out the most important details. Maybe the will get it right with the Bills and half the details? Because, I there's a: -Bridge to be built. -A subway to be torn down -A skyway that is closed during the winter and a Waterfront that needs to look like Cleveland's.
  7. WOW! What was the Levy quote? "If you listen to the fans, you soon find yourself sitting with them!" Is this another classic "Buffalo trying to use someone else's formula" (ie: NE). The city and its fans needs to take a long list of history vs. unoriginality! If TD really buckles to the fans. I have lost all respect for him. That is just plain silly. If JP really sucks it up and RW dies, would it be really hard to move the Bills. Don't shoot, just my paranoid thoughts!
  8. I guess it is fitting noticing how Rockpile's history for the Bills was blank for 2-16! The DB release would at least make news and Bills history for that day. What a shame. For a 3-13 team 3 years ago, I guess we expected the Lombardi trophy? I hold my breath for stability with the kid!
  9. If that picture they used against the Dolphins doesn't speak a thousand worlds? Wow, that picture shows Teague in great postion? Looks like DB is trying to push him out of his face? TT does play center? Gee Trey, nice to see you are "squared around." Let me guess? Pressure was coming from the middle? Get out of my way!
  10. I think MM is nervous. Hell, I am! By no means am I a "gambler." But, if everything that people are mentioneing is true about DB and JP, it is one hell of a gamble coming off a 9-7 season (new coaching staff) that was preceeded by 6-10, 8-8, and an abomination 3-13 season! Not really on topic but, I think it is related. IMO, don't shoot me just my two cents! As much as Ralph Wilson is a great man, sound businessman and with him and his business acumen, Buffalo football has stayed in town. I fear he is getting innvolved. If history is any indicator, it shows when he gets a bug up his arse, things usually change. And mostly not for the good. An example against this was the Levy era. During this time Levy really got it right with "our" owner. Look at at all the great winning coaches in SB history. These teams are usually run by owners that refuse to "meddle" in the coaching staff's decisions. They usually give them unlimited reign. Kraft comes to mind. DeBartolo (Sp?) (ex-SF). Again, don't shoot me. He is OWNER and does have a RIGHT to meddle! HE is a great "football man". It is just consistency and "stay the course" builds team unity. Thanks.
  11. People, people, Hello? NE got rid of DB AFTER they had SUCCESS with TB and he PROVED himself. Big difference Buffalo. In our city wide quest to be like other more successful areas of the country, we look to emulate other's success. Somehow we always screw up the formula. Stop being the little brother Buffalo. Again, TD if you are listening, BLAZE YOUR OWN TRAIL. If JP is the man and you have confidence in him starting, pursue it. Don't try to simply do what others have done successfully. There is no get successful quick scheme. It's not: "Look what Pitt did with Big Ben." It's not: "Look what NYG did with Eli." And it is certainly not: "Look with what NE did in 2001." If we follow those statements, we are setting ourselves up for failure. Failure that will become part of a long line of Buffalo disasters. I don't even want to begin to list them, so don't ask! I am pro-BUFFALO first!
  12. This is a town that ran Lamonica out. His only flaw? Young girls? I agree that the Bills need a QB of the future. I just don't want to take a step back. Buffalo the city is always trying to do what others do. That is why they fail miserably. Just because it worked for the Pats, doesn't mean it will work for the Bills. Advice Buffalo. BLAZE YOUR OWN PATH FOR ONCE!
  13. I believe both sides are at fault. Yet, before people base judgement they should watch what hockey was all about in the early days... When the players truly loved the game and would do anything to play it at the NHL level. Maybe this explains why the NHLPA is so hell bent on this fight? Why the trust isn't there? History shows the struggle between the two sides: NetWorth The bloodiest fight in NHL history wasn't on the ice. Based on a true story, Net Worth blows the lid off the image of the golden era of the National Hockey League, to reveal the bloody battles and hard knocks dealt to the players off the ice. It's the story of ruthless men who would destroy careers in order to hide the millions they were making from the sweat and toil of others and more than anything else, taking advantage of the players' love of the game. In this larger than life David and Goliath conflict, Ted Lindsay, Detroit Red Wings captain, takes on the powerbrokers of the NHL.
  14. A well placed horseshoe up your arse is nice too! I think a VERY critical play in SB XXXIX was when Brady got hit while releasing his throw. The ball shot into the air. Philly players were in the wrong place at the right time. That tip gets picked, things change drastically. Just my opinion.
  15. I detect sarcasm? SB rings, Heisman Trophies, what not, they tend to end up in the darnest places after the years. What ever makes you happy? Fans and players will always be at odds about those rings. What more do we as fans really have to cling to other than those championships? It sure the hell isn't the money? For some players, if the championships happen, they happen. One's needs and priorities vary? It is all "relative" and how you define things? From "our" POV, things can really seem absurd. Can't it?
  16. No way man! Trade DB to AZ was the straw that broke it!
  17. I knew someone was gonna mention that! I was was gonna expand on that when I clipped that segment. I just thought I would stretch one of my threads, maybe approach 10 replies?
  18. Thanks Abany, n.y.! That is exactly the other side of the coin I wanted to read. You make many valid points. 5-11 to 4-12 is not much of a change. IMO, I don't think it does anything to prove one way or another. What would he have done if DB didn't go down, would he have pulled the "Philcox trigger"? Or would he? He would have loved to! Would it have been successful? There is not doubt about it, people come together during tragic events (more than one had happened to the team and others). The is no doubt he failed early. It is a super story no doubt, Greg Couch makes no doubt about that. Don't look at it as negative. It just shows you that mistakes can be made, I'd prefer it happen to other franchises and not the Bills.
  19. Good article by Sun-Times Columnist Greg Couch: Doofus to Genius Tuesday, February 8, 2005 Doofus to genius simply a super story A few years ago, I spent three days at the New England Patriots' training complex trying to talk to Bill Belichick. As you surely know, today's debate is whether he might be the greatest football coach of all time. After all, the Patriots' 24-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday was Belichick's third Super Bowl title in four years. It's Lombardi and Landry, Halas and Belichick, coaching gods. Reading through the article, it is amazing to see the transformation Belichick made! Columnist Couch makes a lot of reference to past history. I was particularly intrigued by his reference to the Kosar cutting and the Phlicox promotion. Could this be what we might do with Bledsoe-Losman?: He cut beloved quarterback Bernie Kosar in midseason in 1993, not bothering to pay respect, just mumbling something about diminishing skills. The Browns were 5-3 at the time and in a playoff run. Have you heard of Todd Philcox? Belichick chose him over Kosar. The Browns finished 7-9. It gets you to wonder how all the stars aligned in the universe when Mo Lewis applied his spleen separating hit on DB? I think Belichick caught "lightening in a bottle" with Brady? How many times can this be repeated? He also seems like a deeply vindictive man? I never knew about his past personality! The funny thing is, I fear if teams start respecting what NE does, I don't think they can keep on winning. If teams continue to think lightly of NE or that they are "ripe for the picking", LOOK OUT! This is NOT intended to start a heated debate, just a look at past history, relations, what not and get some perspective on the furture. Mainly, the Bills future. Also the last paragraph: Whatever. Belichick might deserve all the praise he's getting. And today, while he plays in a celebrity golf event, in Cleveland the Browns continue to try to dig out by naming new coach Romeo Crennel. His credential? He was an assistant, and even disciple, to the man himself, Bill Belichick. Interesting, even know those past Browns are the Ravens now. What ya think?
  20. Believe me, the Pats got their vindictive licks in. Didn't every Pat player that scored do the "Eagle wing flapping?" Obviously the team takes comments personally? Such a good team shouldn't have to be motivated by vindication? Most be the "softer side of the Pats?"
  21. I hear your POV. Because they would be sniffed out as frauds. You make it so dumb, nobody in their right mind would suspect it! How many murders go unsolved? Don't ever get too greedy. Work alone! You discover a bag of money that fell off a armored car, you gonna deposit it in your checking account? Buy a big fancy car? Hell NO! Here is another take: Why was ref Terry McAuley the head of Sunday's officiating crew. He must of had a bad day Dec. 26th? "McAuley, the head of Sunday's SuperBowl officiating crew, was the man who ruled Bears receiver Bernard Berrian did not come down with a potentially game-winning 43 yard TD pass in the final minute of a 19-13 loss to the Detroit Lions. Replays showed otherwise, the league never apologized to the Bears---And gave McAulay a Super reward." At least the Bills got an apology after the Oakland debacle! "Just give it to 'em!"
  22. That would be Cape Cod Bay, right? What's with those "bay areas" anyway?
  23. On the Philly's first score, why didn't they call holding on NE? I think it really surprised them that the play lasted forever and they scored? I don't think they are fixed. I think outcomes can be "pushed" one way or another. If the Pats start losing, will the fans still pack the "Razor" much longer, I hope!" IMHO, the Pats org. really needs to win or they are in trouble.
