  1. If that's in order, Brady and Manning are too high right now - Manning in particular is clearly past his prime. Newton is very overrated - look up his stats. He's athletic with a powerful arm and plenty of leadership attitude, but not all that accurate and it shows up in the numbers. Top 3 QBs in the league _today_ are Rogers, Luck, Rothlisberger and I don't think it's that close after them.
  2. When you go back and watch the Carolina game, for all of Matt's 7/8 that sure was apparent in the game - and his passes had a LOT less zip on them then I thought when I first looked at them. His accuracy and decisions are fine, but I can't imagine defenses will be playing at all honestly with him in there - it will be like a much worse version of Fitz.
  3. Sign me up for that club. I'm fine with TT - if they play Cassel it will make me lose faith in the coaching staff.
  4. Gragg was the only teammate EJ had out there - the rest of the skill guys he had were junk.
  5. Yeah, and in other news, we're supposed to believe that Belichick collected the SpyGate video but Brady didn't look at it because he's a good guy who doesn't cheat.
  6. Only the ladies are invited to use his training methods!
  7. How about this side: They ARE married. The NFL teams are hurting HER by not letting him play. This is so obvious but never mentioned.
  8. You mean the same guys that looked great under Gailey and Delassandros but became crap with Marrone/Morris? Ayup, the Bills had BAD OL coaching the past couple years.
  9. Or the GM that drafted him, or the scout that recommended him...
  10. Hehe - I didn't mean an actual bet! I'm just speculating for the heck of it and hoping it's all good for my fellow 'Nole! Trying to think of the not-too-bad things this could be so we can not worry about him too much. k/s is the sort of thing that often first manifests by waking you up in the night with severe pain. Really bad constipation really could be that too. Unlikely it's injury related, so there's kind of a short list of stuff that hurts you so much out of nowhere enough to send you to the hospital - good news, miserable as the pain is, most of the things that come on like that aren't really too bad prognosis-wise.
  11. My money is on kidney stone - but appendix is a possibility that would unfortunately have him miss a few weeks. Got my first (of many, sadly) kidney stone while I was at FSU. The water down there has too damned much calcium from all the limestone.
  12. Gilbert is probably the biggest bust draft-pick of last year.
  13. Seriously - they're in Miami September 27th - it will be MUCH worse.
  14. IK is Hughes' backup. He's almost exclusively a pass-rush guy. Wynn was Mario's backup.
  15. I'm pretty sure it's the local TV stations - which is why they are so bad Yeah - Mike Stone - he was terrible - and somehow he's the upgrade from Ray Bentley
  16. Gilbride looked mentally ill in his unwillingness to run the ball regardless of down and distance. We'll see what Roman looks like in real games with real plans, but he's certainly promising.
  17. Funny thing is - the Carolina version of the broadcast made the Buffalo one look like classic MNF or Summeral/Madden. They were helpless. http://t.co/IHSiFq1Hz4
  18. Well - it's a bit more of a concern than that - Rex's defense is very dependent on excellent corner play. I remain concerned that Rex is (and has been) overrating Gilmore. He's a good CB. He's still a ways away from elite.
  19. Yeah, and the play of the other TEs has me worried about Clay staying healthy. Sad we don't still have Chandler. O'Leary is way out in front for my most disappointing player so far. I'm an FSU grad and fan from way back, and I thought O'Leary was a steal. OTOH I thought Karlos Williams was a bad pick - nice to see him proving me wrong.
  20. Mostly agreed - but did you not watch Brown when he was in? He looked great (and didn't fumble). Anthony Dixon is the RB hurt by last night. Say what? Mulligan may have blocked well - but he committed two drive killing penalties and looks helpless as a receiver. The TE's (past Clay) overall were brutal. Cassel has nearly identical career stats to Manuel but with 11 years under his belt - not 14 games. To have a better statistical year than Manuel's last two, Cassel would need to have one of his best years ever. What makes you think that will happen?
  21. That's particularly ridiculous since Sammy is a Carolina hero from his still recent Clemson days.
  22. OP saw same game I saw on the NFL Season Pass feed - thanks for the nice synopsis! The worrisome thing about Darby is that he looked exactly like his pre-draft scouting reports. Covered like a glove, struggled to play the ball. He did better later in the game, at least. Can he learn? Sure - McKelvin had the same problem - he learned... after about 4 years... Refs were in preseason form too - Panther's second TD was inexplicable - the QB (Derek Anderson) was OBVIOUSLY across the line of scrimmage. Review team blew it badly. I'll have to look again this morning, but I think the Offsides was an iffy call. He did get knocked on his can once but he looked generally good, not amazing.
  23. 4 million is a bit to pay for a QB with a career rating of 80.1 over 11 seasons.
  24. How does the topic title not mention the TD? Yeah - biggest QB takeaway I had was that it's not clear Simms is worth a practice squad slot. They may well keep all three "starters". We'll see if anyone distinguishes themselves next week I guess. (2nd?) Biggest worry/interest tonight was the OLine and you've got to love how the 1's looked even w/o Icognito.
