It's politics now. Trent got his chance to start because Dick and company drafted him and plunked him in as starter after Wilfork missled toward Loss-man's knees. A new head coach and new assistants (next year?) could spell the end of Trent Edwards as an NFL starter. It's in Trent's political interest to stand up for Jauron.

Nolan confounded the NE offence in the 2nd half of yesterday's game. And hire a real offensive coordinator. We "promoted" Schonert "from within" after Fairchild left. That was our opportunity to hire a real OC like Cam Cameron who is doing a wonders with 2nd year QB Joe Flacco.

Promoting Schonert "from within" when experienced OCs like Cam Cameron (now doing a great job with Joe Flacco) were available was a good example of vintage Jauron decision-making.

If only we had hired a real OC after Fairchild bolted to Colorado, .... Cam Cameron, and others were available (and look what Cameron has been able to do with Joe Flacco over two seasons) But Ralph, Dick, and company went the conservative route and promoted "from within" ... elevating Schonert (and now Van Pelt) to a role neither had experience in

Until you observe the coach for a consistent 3 hour period (instead of periodic TV snippets) x 16 games, it's hard to accept you as a behavioural psychologist that makes a link between coaching "passion" and success. Tony Dungy also doesn't have the visible sideline passion that you desire but was a Superbowl winning coach. Other good coaches like Lovie Smith, Mike Smith and even greats like Joe Gibbs didn't have the passion that you seem to imply is related to success. Observing a coach on the sideline or in a press conference and concluding that a visible lack of passion over the 3-hour game period implies they aren't a good coach is making a big leap. Focus on Dick's faults. -His conservatism -His clock management -His personnel decisions -etc. Those are what makes him a poor coach, not that he's an introvert. Focus on the content of his role and how he is failing on most of it.

Stiffening the interior of the line with the (promising) rookies surrounding Hangartner was the right call, but expecting them to play like veterans in year 1 was a huge risk that Jauron, marketing whiz Brandon, and company took. And expecting that Peters was fully replaceable was another huge risk. The risks will ultimately cost Jauron his job. And then the marketing whiz who runs football operations will bring in a new coach.

In regard to the "front office", do you mean the marketing whiz kid who's our COO and plays a key role in personnel and draft decisions?
