  1. Typical but amusing: Police have zeroed in on an unexpected culprit as being behind a racist, pro-Trump graffiti spree in Philadelphia: a 58-year-old black man. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/12/05/black-man-arrested-after-pro-trump-racist-graffiti-spree-in-philadelphia.html
  2. At least not on the work computer....
  3. As I know you understand completely, consensus is for people that don't know science from pig nipples. Simple minds - so easily played, so willingly duped.
  4. The problem is that little involving the popular notion of climate science actually involves real science. Despite what the Gators and Baskins of the world say, you can't make static declarations in a field of science that's as new and as fluid as climatology. The two leading governmental agencies involved in the studies - NASA and NOAA - are both younger than I am. To say that you can ascertain with any confidence what humanity's effect may or may not be, either short or long term, is not only arrogant in the extreme, it's really, really #@%&ing stupid. I'm willing to concede that our way of life may have an even greater effect on global climate change that what some adherents believe, but the truth is that we're too far away from truly understanding this particular field of science to make a determination either way. But there will always be people who are so easily duped that they'll defend anything.
  5. You could do an awful lots worse in 1985 than The Doors.
  6. If I was a regional rep for Dakota Access, I'd send the protestors five thousand kerosene heaters and plenty of fuel. Nothing like a little community outreach.
  7. What with her attempt to hold onto the contributions she's raised and her choice of states whose results she's contesting, I'm beginning to think that Stein is trying to set herself up as the nominee for the Dems in 2020. There's very little difference between the Green agenda and that of the likes of Sanders and Warren.
  8. When you go out on a limb, you pick some mighty sturdy ones.
  9. I have no clue about proton beam therapy, but if you're facing prostrate cancer, then you have my most sincere best wishes for beating it.
  10. I don't get out to many concerts anymore. I mainly listen to classical music nowadays - not so much the mellow stuff, but mainly composers like Mussorgsky, Paganini, Bach, etc. Most of the bands that I love are either long gone, too old to tour, or have only one or two remaining original members. The only two bands that I can think of that I'll go see every single time they're in town are King Diamond and Ghost (still love me some of that dark music).
  11. My point was that the gun control crowd comes out of the woodwork whenever citizens kill each other, but don't seem to give a crap about police officers being killed. I thought my post was pretty clear. But I'm interested to learn what exactly you thought I was saying. I don't know the polices' stance on CRIME? Really? Press releases? Seriously? Is there actually something I posted that gives you the impression that I have anything against the police? If so, then what?
  12. I'm not seeing your point. Could you clarify?
  13. You know how most people think that the music was so much better back in the old days than all the new music is? Well, I just took a look at the list of top 10 albums from my high school freshman year (1971-72) and realized that it may have been one of the best years ever for solid, quality, pop music. 10) Yes - Close to the Edge 9) ZZ Top - Rio Grande Mud 8) Elton John - Honky Chateau 7) Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds 6) Allman Brothers Band - Eat a Peach 5) Black Sabbath - Vol. 4 4) Alice Cooper - School's Out 3) David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars 2) Deep Purple - Machine Head 1) The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
  14. Touche. I understand - words are one thing, actions are quite another. How things will go remain to be seen. Allow me to put it another way: This was the first time in quite a while that a person elected to the presidency gave a speech that actually had me feeling optimistic. Can he deliver? We shall see.
  15. I'm probably going to be savaged for saying it, but I find this kind of talk pretty refreshing after the crap I've listened to over the last eight years. Big talk, sure, but if there's actual substance to it, then I'll be pleased.
  16. Nothing to do with colleges (except that the genius writer Helin Jung must be a recent graduate), but now we apparently have a problem with racist lingerie: http://heatst.com/biz/victorias-secret-accused-of-featuring-racist-lingerie-in-fashion-show/
  17. Well, we know for sure that we at least agree on one thing.
  18. Just so you know, you're replying to a plagiarized cut & paste job. I just might have to take him off ignore - the stuff I'm seeing quoted is highly amusing.
  19. Impossible. Walsh can spell. He can probably spell 'stimulus' on the first try.
  20. Sadly, that might be the best offer I've had so far this week.
  21. Maybe not happy, but there's plenty of company for them, that's for sure.
  22. I've had him on ignore for months, and I wouldn't have seen that post had you not quoted it. Having seen it, I can tell you that the entire thing has quite obviously been cut and pasted from some other source. For someone as bereft of the ability to properly spell and use punctuation as he has historically shown to be, to post anything like that is completely impossible. The author of that bit shows at least a mote of primary cognition, something that is alien to the Gator. Honestly, he's not even a challenge. I don't get why anyone bothers with him anymore.
