  1. Ok, I"m going to try setting this up. Send me your email addresses you want to use and we'll set it up. I'm using a "small" world (so that it won't take as many system resources for people, plus we should run into each other quicker), and the only option I'll turn on is "Permenant alliances" Everything else is default. There will be 4 human players and 1 AI player (unless someone else wants to join). I'll use "Random" starting civs, unless people feel strongly against that. The sooner I hear, the sooner we start! As an update - the process is pretty simple. I start the game, make my moves, and then a file is saved in My Documents\MyGames\Civ IV\pbem. The filename says who to mail it to -- so you simply email the file to the person, they make their move, and mail it on to the next person. Theoretically, if people were online at the same time, we could breeze through some early turns extremely quickly. CW
  2. I'm Italian, but I'm not the millionaire kind.
  3. What job gives Good Friday off?! I don't remember ever hearing about anyone having the day off.... I worked. Got there early, hoping to leave early, but that didn't work out. Oh well, I have no complaints about my new job (yet...) . CW
  4. That shows that your poker playing is better than your sports betting. CW
  5. It's the media trying to get a story where one doesn't exist. Move along, nothing to see. CW
  6. It's going to be a long season, isn't it...?

  9. Now I've done it.... I can chat and play at the same time. That's because I'm a computer nerd. CW
  10. So because he made $10M, and is afraid that the team will simply break even this year, he should shut his mouth and pretend nothing bad is happening?! I guess there's a reason that you're not running your own multimillion dollar company. You realize that some PLAYERS earned more than that last year, right...? To me, it's just people hating others who have more than they do. See it all the time on this board, and in society in general. "Oh, you bought an <X>?? What a waste of money!" Petty jealousy. CW
  11. Oh god, if you only knew how many people he shows his weiner to. Hell, one time he touched his weiner on some girl's bun... I had to turn away at that point.
  12. Ok everyone -- if you havn't seen Firefly yet, you can knock off two birds with one stone! Get Firefly for less than $25 AND get a $10 gift certificate to buy your mom some flowers for Mother's Day. It's a win-win situation! http://www.slickdeals.net/#p7352

  17. I've got a good story that's slightly OT, but along the same lines. At the U of Minnesota, they always brought potential CS grad students around the CS building, including the basement where the server room is. They had this one cabinet that was all black with a ton of blinking lights inside. The tour would go past the window that let the students see inside the server room and would point out the "big server" and that iwas obviously very busy and very powerful because of all of the blinking lights inside. Invariably, the students on the tour were always very impressed. All we did was put some Xmas lights inside the rack and plugged them in. There wasn't even a server in the rack. It impressed them every time though! CW
  18. Glad your favorite player came back home for you CL
  19. It helps them charge ~$60 for nosebleed seats. How much are nosebleeds at the Ralph? Nowhere near $60 (I think I paid about $60 for 4th row lower-bowl seats at the Ralph for the season opener a couple of years ago). Better economy equals more disposable income equals more entertainment type purchases. Having moved here from Niagara Falls, I don't really find the weather similar. The only similarity is that we have four seasons. Winter, when football is played, is really nothing like WNY. There's not that much snow here, but it (in general) gets a LOT colder here. Personally, I like trading the cold for the snow. My second year here, we had temps around -40F, with windchills around -75F. And the U of M didn't cancel classes. I had a walkman and as soon as you stepped out from the car or bus, the wires instantly froze and became rigid. Kinda cool. Saw demonstrations where people would crack an egg into a bowl, then toss contents on the ground, and it would shatter becasue it froze on the way down. Nuts. CW

  22. You're not honestly trying to say that the sport is just as strong today as it was before the strike, are you?
