  1. Yeah, thought about that after posting. Oh well
  2. No, you're the only one who knows how to read.
  3. http://thebrushback.com/mockdraft.htm They had Buffalo taking Justice: And before anyone says anything, yes we all already know.
  4. http://thebrushback.com/airhead_full.htm “I know a lot of people see me in the paper hanging out in LA with people like Tara Reid and Paris Hilton, people who can actually make you dumber just be standing next you,” said Leinart. “But so what? I did that all through college and was still wildly successful. That’s because I’m in a different mindset when I’m on the field. The fact that I’m in a mindset at all is what makes it different. Off the field I don’t bother with things like mindsets.”
  5. http://thebrushback.com/goalie_full.htm “The team with the best goaltending will win the cup every single year,” said Kunitz, who scored a goal in the Ducks 4-3 victory on Sunday. “It’s as inevitable. It’s always been that way and it always will be that way. But the goalie isn’t the only one out there. Sometimes a regular player can get red hot and start scoring goals left and right for no apparent reason. If you have that guy and a good goalie you can just plan the victory parade, or, since this is hockey, the small victory banquet in the basement of the armory.”
  6. Surprised Buffalo didn't try drafting Williams based on this: "‘Mario Williams’ is going to be an impact player in the NFL? I think it’s more likely that he’ll be an impact player for UPS. I hear they need somebody with a great motor to deliver their packages.”"
  7. http://thebrushback.com/nobody_full.htm Brushback predicted the Mario Williams draft weeks ago. I especially like John Madden's comment: “Drafting Mario Williams would be akin to packing the franchise in a bus and shipping it to Bolivia,” John Madden said on Sportscenter. “Nobody knows who this kid is and nobody cares. He comes from a university in North Carolina that’s neither Duke nor UNC. It’s not even Wake Forest. NC State? Yea I go there if I want a degree in wood shop. For professional football, I’d go to, oh I don’t know, USC? Texas? Anywhere else in the country?” CW
  8. That's a pretty lame comeback for you, Darin. Using that logic, we didn't need McCargo either because we have 6 DTs on teh roster. I expected better.... But no, overall I'm not impressed with Fowler or Reyes. Hopefully I'm proven wrong. CW
  9. True, but if you're targeting a specific player, you lose sight of the "best available." I don't think anyone would disagree that we need S, DT, and OT. So why wouldn't you trade to be able to address all three positions, instead of losing picks and noly addressing two? Even if they didn't get the S they wanted, trading down could've netted DT and OT (for example). I don't like zeroing in on one player, when we aren't (IMHO) one player away from competing. CW
  10. But I thought Marv's thinking was always, "Draft the best available player, regardless of position?"
  11. And there-in lies the problem. Everyone is harping on how bad our defense was last year. Well, it was damn good before last year, and we're getting TKO back. The OL has been a need for years, and will once again not be addressed. CW
  12. All I know is that everyone wanted us to draft (in the first round) the guy we got in the second round. So what's the problem? Plus, there wasn't all that much interest in trading for that spot if I recall, unlike today where we had at least two teams contact us (according to NFLN and ESPN). CW
  13. Except everyone said the Radiers would take him with the last pick of the draft... And we got the DL we wanted anyway. Not even close to the same. CW
  14. That's what I think too.
  15. Exactly. St. Louis just added a 3rd rounder. I would've taken that. We could've then had Whitner, or if he was gone for some reason, Ngata, Bunkley, or Justice. All still fill big needs, plus save us cap space.
  16. I guess that description does account for 98% of posters, doesn't it?
  17. It could have the opposite effect -- babbles about the same thing over and over and over again. Think Groundhog Day.
  18. Fans here would've revolted if they got rid of the horns. They're very proud of them for some reason...
  19. My wife took Xanax a few years ago because it supposedly helps people quit smoking. Well, it didn't help her with that, but one of side affects was that her short term memory went to hell in a handbasket. We'd be talking, she'd look away for a second, and then completely forget that we were talking. It was *really* freaky -- almost like she had Alzheimers or something. She stopped taking it after a few weeks as it got worse and worse. Scary.
  20. That was a cool goal. Shoot the puck, goalie makes the save, then a Flyer comes out of nowhere, smashes into his own goalie, and pushes the goalie, puck, and himself into the net. CW
  21. You're not referring to the Campbells soup "competition," are you?
  22. Hang him upsidedown from the shower bar for a few hours every day.
  23. Pretty funny - but the guy shooting the video needs a tripod.
  24. I'm swamped with work... Got a new job a couple of months ago. As was stated earlier in the thread, this isn't a DirecTV issue -- it's a Center Ice issue. The same thing would've happened, as DirecTV/cable get their feeds from the NHL/Center Ice. Again, Cable and DirecTV both got the MSG feed here. I'm sure DTV had some choice words for the NHL, and that's why they switched. This is a different issue. A few years ago, the local networks complained to the NFL that they were losing viewers because people watched on Sunday Ticket. instead of the local broadcast. They forced the NFL to change the Sunday Ticket rules -- if a game is shown locally, it must be blacked out on Sunday Ticket. It started with the "Pittsburgh/Seattle experiment" for one season, then encompassed the entire NFL the following year. I havn't been burned by it yet, but a lot of people have and it sucks. Again, not a DirecTV issue, but rather the NFL/local networks being greedy. I thought the CompUSA comparison was a good one -- pretty accurate. CW
