  1. This is a fun part though- How can you not feel the passion for journalism just oozing through his bones... per AI: Rupert Murdoch has not written any books or significant works of literature under his own name. While he has penned annual letters to stockholders, these are primarily business-related and do not represent creative writing. A New Yorker article mentioned an aborted autobiography. Beyond having zero passion for anything related to actual journalism, I'm not going to get into his personal stuff. He is a businessperson out to create personal wealth with no regard for anything else. I think it's called a sociopath.

  3. Nice cynicism. Some of us are just stronger minded than your average North Carolina Disney fan- cue Pope Francis, not his 'handlers'. Personal story related- there's absolutely no way my Mom didn't stave off death until 45 minutes into December 26th- so she didn't die on my sister's birthday. Go see a national park or something- sounds like you need it. Oh, wait, they're probably all bulldozed by now... What's with it with my fellow American citizens cheering on ugliness and cynicism in my own country?
  4. 77 seconds- all hell broke loose from there, we were just toying with teams after that. What a ***** blast!
  5. To be fair to the OP, the only accurate season prediction you could have made is that the Bills would NOT win the Super Bowl. )
  6. 16 wongs don't make a wight. So tell me what is your 'rooting interest' in all of this- it can't be 'pro-incompetence', can it?
  7. Ends what, Doc? Hegseth's a gonner. This ain't going away, no metter how much you dweam it to be.
  8. Would I know I picked the song, and under these circumstances? If I knew I'd picked the song it would probably be Baba O'Riley. It'd be about the best song for keeping my spirit alive- knowing I could only listen to 1 song for the rest of my life- which would be the death of me. But if I didn't know about the choice, or maybe even other music at all, I might go with something like San Tropez
  9. Why are you even pretending? Seriously, what do the F/A-18 pilots stand to gain by Pete Hegseth blabbing battle plans, as they launched, and over an unsecured and unapproved channel to his wife, brother and lawyer?
  10. "Hi hon! I'm just about to take off from the Eisenhower, just off the Gulf coast- hope you're having a great day!" Yeah, I'm sure that was totally rad, dude.
  11. If you'd told your brother Daryl and wife Ginny what you were about to do before launch, how would that have gone over... on any ordinary carrier launch?
  12. I want to point this out- there are incredibly eloquent and thoughtful persons on 'both sides of the aisle'. I know where I stand, and this administration and basically ALL of it's subordinates are complete garbage, anathema to what we should rationally consider a democracy. It's easy to get caught up in how despicable those 'who don't think like me' are. But there's only one true villain here, it's Sherpa.
  13. So... say it, Do you have an Opinion on Pete Hegseth? or get the ***** out of this thread.
  14. The topic wasn't, 'I'd like to talk about Iran and enlistment rates', it was about a horrifyingly inept Secretary of Defense. I don't backtrack on my feelings on this matter, I commented on the tendency of some people with 'soft' agendas deflecting- as a tactic to avoid addressing the actual issue. It's a common approach from people who know they are on shaky ground, but still want to rattle their sticks. C'mon, you and Sherpa and 'Doc' tell me what a '***** fantastic' choice Pete Hegseth is as Secretary of Defense. You can't possibly, so you get your *****-wipes in a dither.
  15. AWOL, as in undergoing cancer treatments? https://apnews.com/article/austin-hospital-defense-secretary-biden-fe9060f1e277db706d3cee6cae1d2562 A serious person would still carry out their duties in such a situation. A Hegseth would put on eye-liner and scream victimhood.
  16. Who needs the pancake, when we've got the lundt-cake! best wishes
  17. I've tried to be kind, but who's muther-***** ass do expect to be kissed?
  18. "The Hegseth thing was really stupid. I'm not certain the truth about the second occurrence is really known yet." Don't even bother telling anyone about what is lying. Hegseth is absolute garbage. Semi-Defend it however weirdly you choose. I apologized for calling you out, but you get to dimwhittle your way through the elder years however you like.
  19. I didn't assign it to 'someone', I assigned it to you. I was expecting more from you regarding this situation- and it is very much a situation. I apologize if I implied you bore a greater responsibility than any other poster here regarding Pete Hegseth and the position he potentially put the Navy pilots in - you have no more responsibility to comment on that than any other poster. - You comment on military matters pretty often, so I thought you might have something to say about his actions, but you don't, so fair enough. (fantasy is not really my genre, btw)
  20. Maybe some of it'll make sense for you in the morning. Seeing as how you now have Al Bundy on your side, I best give this convo up while I can still tread water.
  21. You jumped into a topic and chose to address an aside conversation, rather than the actual topic which involves the (pathetic excuse for a) Secretary of Defense. You, of all people here, an ex Navy pilot, deciding to take the side plot and totally dismissing the main point just says... I don't even know what the ***** it says. This situation implicitly involves Navy pilots, and you just *****... nothing. Just dud... Let's talk about troop buildup, fellas... Meanwhile the show is backed by morons. Exclaim your love for these idiots, or whatever your point of view is, but flexing that military muscle over random aside *****?? If you want to check out 'skirting honesty', check around the home-fires.
