  1. Ahhhh, the dreaded "Mike Tirico Disease."
  2. NFL Shop Not authentic, but it's the throwback.
  3. Mark Pike Tasker was the heart of the special teams during the glory years, but ask Marv and I'm sure he will tell you that Mark Pike was every bit as valuable. Big play: After the Kenneth Davis TD to bring Buffalo to within 25 during the Comeback game, the "suicide onside," where Christie recovered his own kick, was setup by a crushing block by Pike on the nearest Oiler...allowing Christie to gobble up the ball. Mark Pike gets my vote as the most underrated Bill of all time.
  4. The wife saw U2 at RIT, yes RIT, around that time and they didn't even sellout...said you were able to walk right up to the stage.
  5. Just checked and they're quoting $159/night...since when the did the Hamburg Holiday Inn become the Four Seasons?!?!
  6. Yeah, and aren't those blue and gold uniforms real nice?
  7. Ummm...Reed was running for Lt. Governor. Press reports out of Atlanta now report that McKinney is headed for a run-off...
  8. Baltimore actually sells about 2000 non-season tickets to each game
  9. Yeah, that added alot to the video, didn't it?
  10. All this hoopla about the Bills selling out their first four games is sorta misleading. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of seats are being held back for prospective season ticket buyers...and after the first pre-season game, those tickets will become available. The weird part is, with the Bills reporting that there are no tickets for the first four games, how do they market the remaining tickets when they become available? Instead of crowing that the first four games are sold out, the Bills should announce that currently limited single-game tickets are available, however, in mid-August more tickets may become available. I'm surprised Leo Roth, a veteran beat writer, fell for this...it's something the Bills have been doing since the Super Bowl runs.
  11. Christ, who pi$$ed in your Fruity Pebbles this morning?
  12. Picked up 13 together for the Vikes game yesterday with no problem. Like every year, hundreds of seats will become available after the first preseason game.
  13. Baltimore tickets on sale July 28th Ravens link
  14. McFaddens on Penn is walking distance from Georgetown.
  15. Joe Head? For a guy with a name like that, he needs a few breaks in life...hell, I hope he gets to sing on Canada Day, so he can get twice the exposure.
  16. Don't have the script, but at the very end of the 1980 Bills highlight film, Facenda says, as Fergy limps off the field in San Diego, "Buffalo lost this game in San Diego, but like the setting sun, the Bills will rise again." In the same film he says, "Joe Cribbs is a working man, in a working man's town." And of Super Bowl V, Fecenda starts off: "Super Bowl Five was fiercely fought, but fatefully flawed."
  17. They got the memo that they are to appeal to the 17-24 year olds, ONLY. Hence, the Coors Light/ESPN approach to NFL Films.
  18. Agree...I've said it a hundred times, with the NFL Films vault at their disposal, they do a piss poor job at showing old games, highlights, interviews, etc.
  19. OK, nobody comes back...here's what you do: Opening Scene: Tony: "Christopher, remember that big F'n Russian you guys let get away in the woods a couple of years ago? Well, he's back, and he just whacked Paulie." Christopher: "No F'n way! Christ, I've gotta find him before he finds me." And there, my friends, you have enough to fill eight episodes and at the same time close the biggest story line still open.
  20. Whole Foods is legitimizing their actions based on a EUROPEAN report. 'nuff said....
  21. My former roomate once dated Fred Funk's sister...go Fred Funk!
  22. Harris Teeter is a NC-based chain...they're pretty good, way ahead of Giant/Safeway, but no where near Wegmans. I shop at the Glebe Road location in Arlington. They are building pretty agressively in N. VA, there's one going up in Shirlington and one on Route 1 near Potomac Yards. Used to shop at Giant but left due mainly to the check-out lines being seven deep, and the union-card-carrying-cashiers bantering back and forth about their next break...
