  1. 1981 Roland Hooks "Hail Mary" game vs. Patriots. Hooks catches the TD to give the Bills the win...we're in the upper deck near one of the tunnels...though many "fans" had left, the roar after the Hooks catch was LOUD. Anyways, right after, I look down the tunnel and coming running from the pi$$ers were dozens of guys, most with their pants still down around their ankles, to see what the big cheer was about...and ugly, ugly, scene.
  2. I spent some time with the Navy in San Diego in 1976...and yes, that was the era and that was the song played after every score!
  3. I also liked from that game: REVENGE IS BEST SERVED COLD
  4. Again in 1980, Bills DB Jeff Nixon starts the season on fire, had several INTs in the first few games. Week Four game vs Oakland, a sign reads, simply, NIXON FOR PRESIDENT. Unfortunately, Nixon gets hurt during the Oakland game, and I think he was out the rest of the year, only to be replaced by a more-than-able Rod Kush, who also goes down the next game at San Diego.
  5. Remember the sign, but I think it was 1990 AFC championship game...Bo got hurt (ended his career) the week before vs. Cincy.
  6. 1980...Bills start the season with three straight wins. Oakland comes to town and a sign at Rich reads: NO FAH KING WAY RAIDERS
  7. Yes, interesting link...too bad the guy's a Pats fan.
  8. Standby for the rath that is AD...
  9. Kelly vs. Bledsoe? Not quite Kirk vs. Picard...
  10. Getting same thing w/Hotmail...there was a post a few weeks ago about this. Saw on a Hotmail users blog that the problem should be fixed shortly, don't know about Yahoo.
  11. Always wondered: why do we put a dog or cat "to sleep;" yet we "DESTROY" a horse?
  12. Drinking early today, Fezzer?
  13. Good question, as I can't believe the front office has not heard the word on this one. There are several hoops OBD has to jump through, but I don't think they can be all that difficult...I mean christ, they did it with the USFL uni's the Bills are wearing today. Unfortunately, it's probably going to take a media outlet (WGR? ) to get the grassroots movement going full-time
  14. I think College Gameday is the only pregame show, pro or college, worth watching...especially when they are on campus...they do a good job, and Mark May (Oneonta, NY) does not make or break the show.
  15. God, just make the throwbacks the full time uni's....
  16. I like this one, in fact, I'm ordering it. Simple, straight-forward, dignified....a pure classic. hat link
  17. I second that...macnmotion's shots always feel like you're on the field and in the huddle.
  18. Patrick Ramsey would be worth the pickup if he's cut...he's taken a lot of hits and had his bell rung a few too many times, but he's seasoned and worth the low investment.
  19. Born in 1986? Christ, she wasn't even alive for the 2-14 years...
  20. christ, and it's only the preseason...wait until the Jets and Pats game...
  21. He sure did...go look back in Relentless, v.1, and see how games the Bills came close to winning that season...not only were many games frustratingly close, but without offensive or defensive lapses late in several games, 4-12 could have easily become 8-8.
  22. In the early 1940s, a politically ambitious butcher from West Virginia named Bob Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to form a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. After Byrd had collected the $10 joining fee and $3 charge for a robe and hood from every applicant, the "Grand Dragon" for the mid-Atlantic states came down to tiny Crab Orchard, W.Va., to officially organize the chapter. As Byrd recalls now, the Klan official, Joel L. Baskin of Arlington, Va., was so impressed with the young Byrd's organizational skills that he urged him to go into politics. "The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation," Baskin said. Link
  23. This is a pun, right?
  24. Clint Eastwood is directing "Flags of Our Fathers," based on a excellent book. Link I actually watched them film the USMC memorial dedication scene last November, here in Arlington.
