Maybe not, but i guarantee that harnessing the collective wisdom of TBD and TSW would have resulted in at least as many playoff appearances as OBD has produced in the past 16 years. So there's that.If only, if ONLY Whales would listen to reason... you know, like the kind that's oozing from TSW in every thread. We'd have at least seven Lombardis housed at OBD now doubt.

The Bills' second best all-time 4th round pick.I really miss Terrance.....we need more players like him

As I look through these lists, one thing that seems clear is that there is an abundance of talented QBs in the league--maybe more than there ever have been. The notion that the NFL is in crisis mode because of poor QB play (usually attributed to the proliferation of spread offenses in CFB) is downright laughable.

Actually, Cardale made the Alabama D look like the proverbial deer in headlights, or a deer being confronted with a 12-gauge, if you prefer.😀rGive me the guy who doesn't look like a deer in headlights when he's out there. He isn't perfect or polished yet but he's not scared of going out there, sizing up the defense, and using his natural talent to try to make plays. The rest can be coached.

Maybe you should be more open minded?
He might be the yang to your yin.
or maybe not any of that.
The statement that "X sucks and is a wasted pick" adds basically zero value on this or any other discussion board. QuoteTheRaven is free to disagree with me all he wants, but he's doing nothing more than expressing a bare opinion with absolutely nothing to back it up. In fact, even calling it an opinion is a stretch. There are lots of posters here who disagree with me regularly, but tend to offer facts or reasoning to support their position. That I can respect, and it's what this board is all about.

I'm also curious as to what it is that people don't like? I've seen every snap of his career and he can do things no one else in this draft can. He is raw for sure but potentially a big time player in a couple of years.
Don't waste your breath. The closest you will ever get to an answer is, "I never cared for Cardale". I know a lot of people don't like this phrase, but QuoteTheRaven's posts are a classic example of just "hating on" someone.

Oh, it's a race issue now.
Classic.
That's what it looks like from here.

"issues reading and reacting to zone coverage underneath. Doesn't hold safeties with his eyes."
Anybody who reads that about a QB who started one year and got benched the next is going to question his football intelligence.
Why are you acting like this is a big mystery? You think people are just out to get him?
I don't think there is anything about either statement that would lead to the conclusion that CJ lacks "football intelligence". To answer your question, when someone questions CJ's "mind" or "football intelligence" but can't come up with anything to back it up, it makes me think they are making assumptions about him based on racial stereotypes and the fact that he is from the 'hood.

And if you want to keep believing Whaley wasn't behind the EJ pick, knock yourself out. I'm not saying Jones will start the season as the backup, but I think there's a very good chance it happens sometime this year, and that he sees the field. It is not a given, as some suppose, that he's just going to be red-shirted for the year. You are required to believe if you choose not to. To set the record straight once again, Bills' GM Buddy Nix drafted EJ Manuel. If you think it's very possible that a raw rookie QB with 11 games of CFB experience will be the # 2 QB, knock yourself out. It could happen, but I doubt it.

Funny, I read that entire profile and didn't see a word that called into question Cardale's "football intelligence", much less his innate brainpower, which is what many posters have called out--again, without any evidence. The profile makes the point that Cardale has little starting experience (although I think that's overblown) and makes mistakes that go along with that lack of experience, but I saw nothing there that would make one question his "football intelligence." Making bad in-game decisions is the hallmark of plenty of very bright quarterbacks, including at least one who graduated from Harvard 😜Football intelligence. Aren't legitimate scouts questioning it?

That might be why.

I do not believe such statements should be taken at face value. That might have been the ostensible plan as of the day of the draft, but plans change all the time and Whaley knows that. I think it's likely Whaley is just trying to deflect expectations and pressure from Cardale. Don't forget, it's not Whaley's job to decide who dresses on game day or who is the backup. And of course, Whaley has a long and embarrassing history of trying to prop up EJ (whom he foolishly drafted in the first round), sometimes against the wishes of the coaching staff. If Cardale progresses quickly, and EJ continues to be EJ, there is every possibility that Cardale wins the backup job sometime this season.Already stated by Whaley and company after the draft. They know that Cardale is too green to be the #2 back QB is 2016. They are on the record with EJ being the #2 and it makes since given his guaranteed salary and Cardale's lack of readiness with such limited CFB experience.
QB Jones wont alter EJs spot on depth chart in 2016

Of course. But I have a problem when posters just come in and make statements like "Cardale sucks. He's a wasted pick" without offering anything to back it up. It adds nothing to the board, IMO. And with Cardale, there seem to also be a lot of posters who question his intelligence, even though all the evidence I've seen and heard is to the contrary. (Not saying Wagon Circler did this.). And Aaron, thanks for adding some perspective.Everyone should be allowed to speak , regardless.

Yep. Complete waste of bandwidth.Your opinion -- remember, that's all it is -- might be worth something if we could see a record of your post-draft prediction history...or if, like, you actually provided any insight as to why you believe CJ was a "wasted" pick.
Without either, your post is really just filler and makes me wonder why you bothered to type it in the first place.

😂rex was able to accomplish a 7 point swing last year on D, so maybe he'll do it again....

Where is 4merper4mer when we need him?Andrew luck at 92? Isn't this based on 2015 season? If he's on the list then Taylor should be too.
-
I completely agree. People act like Cardale has been hiding out at a D-3 school for the past four years and has never played in--much less won--a big game.Cardele is not as raw as everyone makes him out to be. I anticipate him being our 2 coming out of Fisher.
Imo

Based on this, I am predicting Lawson will win DROY, and Ragland will be runner up. Unfortunately, Jonathan Williams is likely to bust.Pete Prisco from CBS agrees . . . but not so much about the whole draft:
Buffalo Bills - C
Prisco's analysis: "If you love Lawson and second-round linebacker Reggie Ragland, this is a good draft. If you don't, and I don't, it's just OK. That's why I rate this as an average draft."
Best pick: Jonathan Williams, RB . Questionable move: Shaq Lawson in first round. Third-day gem: Kolby Listenbee , WR.

I have read a lot of similar comments here, and I'm going to challenge everyone who says it: What leads you to believe that Cardale "lacks the mental aspect"? As far as I can tell, nothing could be farther from the truth. I have yet to see a scrap of evidence to support such a view.2 thoughts on Cardale; has physical ability, lacks mental aspect.

This fifth year option thing seems like a pretty reliable way to determine whether or not a guy was a bust, or at least a disappointment. Looks like O-linemen are not faring too well, including the two "can't miss" guards (Warmack and Cooper) who were drafted much higher than guards are usually taken. Seems like O-line might be one of the more difficult positions to project at the next level.

Then why did you say "not a great mind"? Please explain.Maybe intelligent

And Watkins was absolutely guaranteed to be gone by the time the Bills picked. It drives me crazy when teams trade up for a guy who likely would have been available to them anyway if they stayed put. That why the Sammy Watkins trade was great from the start and worth it from the start, there are some years, like this one, that there is not a single player that is a guaranteed stud. Not one in this entire draft. Watkins was a guaranteed stud. That's why you make that trade.

He doesn't have a prayer. They signed Trevon Boykin as an UDFA, and Adams isn't even signed; he just gets a tryout.Adams to Seattle makes a ton of sense. They can clone their offense for him - the blocking angles and passing windows can remain exactly as-is, since he's the same height as RW. Plus they let Tavares Jackson go. It's a good fit.
-
That might be the plan, but lots of things can happen. I'm sure Seattle did not expect Russell Wilson to see the field his rookie year, either.Your hoping instead of listening to what the GM is saying
C. Jones isnt gonna sniff the field this year

Cardale is built for a pro system. I have a feeling he is going to progress much faster than people think, and may push Tyrod a bit this year.I am excited to see our new QB toy...in training camp and pre season....then I want him put away with a sign that says.."do not open for a year"
RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University

So it's the Bills' strong performance on the field the last 16 years, despite never making a postseason appearance, that's responsible for them remaining in Buffalo? Please explain.
