  1. I think the only answer to this question is that it depends how day 1 plays out.  Moving into the top 10 is out of the question and 20 is about as high as we could realistically get, so I think you have just wait until then and see who’s still left, but given the number of highly graded WRs and the lack of consensus, I’m staying put. I’d consider a move to 25 or 26, but that’s it.

The chiefs proved that they’ve won 3 super bowls where holding wasn’t called on them a single time

I’m not sure if Mahomes was sacked a single time in those games…

There’s no point in that the only way you beat the chiefs anymore is to win an arms race get your qb as many weapons as they can cause McDermott has proven even with a totally healthy defense he really can’t stop the Burrows and Mahomes of the world might as well outscore them.

Correct.  With holding now legalized in the playoffs, investing heavily in edge rush is a losing strategy.

Yeah I am not sure those guys in the expensive bracket are realistic, but wanted to present tiers. That salary is excessive for a safety, but I am interested to see what happens. I agree that this team will not be paying that.

Bills have proven they can get great value with the lower cost FA and late round safties.  I'd be shocked if they signed one of the big names or used even a day 2 pick on one.

Houston is not expected to pursue him

he’s not untradeable. It would depend how much both parties wanted to move on. It’s looking more like he’ll be here. If he’s here 3/17 that’s an 18.5 million bonus

Diggs is effectively untradeable for multiple reasons, but mostly because the cap hit the Bills would have to absorb is unacceptable.  There is absolutely zero chance of him being traded...about the same odds as the Bills trading Von Miller.  Not happening.

6'3.25" and 213 lbs for Keon Coleman; tied with Harrison for the tallest WR so far and the heaviest WR by 1 lb so far over Odunze. Was listed at 6'4" and 215 so relatively spot on.

A couple other sleeper candidates that some of the people here like:

    • Javon Baker: 6'1.25" and 202
    • Jermaine Burton: 6'0.25" and 196

    How tall was Odunze?

Updating my spreadsheet as WR measurements come in: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12pCgsJPa9X-jjNMOZ_exJTAEfxmZOeETzEm8SNkuXec/edit#gid=1244172747

Differences compared to how some of the guys we might be targeting were listed:

    • AD Mitchell came in at 6'2.25" and 205 vs. listed 6'4" and 196
    • Xavier Worthy came in at 5'11.25" and 165 vs. listed 6'1" and 172
    • Troy Franklin came in at 6'1.88" and 176 vs. listed 6'3" and 187
    • Brian Thomas came in at 6'2.88" and 209 vs. listed 6'4" and 205

Yeah, the WR height metrics we read about all season were obviously nonsense.

    28. Buffalo Bills: Chop Robinson, DE, Penn State©Dan Rainville / USA Today Sports Images

An edge rusher is high on Buffalo's wish list with the potential departures of Leonard Floyd and A.J. Epenesa. Robinson fits the mold as long, projectable edge rusher.

    DE's before 18:

    8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, DE, Alabama

    11. Minnesota Vikings: Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA

    15. Indianapolis Colts: Jared Verse, DE, Florida State

    5 WR taken before 28:

    4. Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

    6. New York Giants: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

    14. New Orleans Saints: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

    17. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

    26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

We’d better not pass on Troy Franklin for an undersized Penn State edge rusher with very little production in college. But of course it would not surprise me.

KC has Chris Jones to re-sign, Trey Smith on deck, Nick Bolton one deck, Creed Humphrey on deck, and Harrison Butker on deck, They have a lot of $$$ they are about to have to spread around. I can't see them Paying $20M+ to a WR and giving up multiple high end draft picks.

I agree.  It would be the direct opposite of their recent approach, i.e., letting Tyreek Hill walk instead of paying him, and trying to fill the gap with draft picks and second tier free agents.

Seems like more and more kids are staying in college instead of declaring early...this year there were only 58 underclassmen who declared for the draft this year. Last year there were 82. In 2019, before the NIL deals were allowed 135 declared...

Caleb Williams reportedly made $10 million in endorsement and NIL deals the past 2 years at USC, meaning overall in his first 4 years in the NFL, he will be taking a slight PAYCUT to play(not factoring in endorsement/commercial deals, which could push him over that). Williams will make a little over $38.5 million over the first 4 years if he is selected #1 overall as he is expected to be. If he doesn't get taken 1st overall, every pick beneath that his money starts to dwindle. If he isn't top 5, he will make under $30 million his first 4 seasons total.

This is for the #1 player on most boards...now imagine a player who has a good NIL deal that might only be a 2nd or 3rd round pick but is a huge deal in college where he plays...he could easily make more playing college football than he does in the NFL to start out.  Crazy to think about, but NIL deals could be hurting the talent pool in the draft as more kids decide to stay in college.

    https://sports.yahoo.com/report-potential-no-1-nfl-draft-pick-caleb-williams-made-approximately-10-million-in-nil-deals-at-usc-164614055.html

There may be fewer underclassmen declaring, but that’s just a factor of more good players using their full eligibility, therefore, theoretically, more good seniors in the draft.  I kinda see it as a wash, unless we start seeing a lot of 24 and 25 year olds coming out.  Good topic, though!

  11. A couple weeks ago, Joe Marino did a whole episode on the Chiefs’ MO and how they got where they are.  It’s definitely with a listen and highly relevant given that the Chiefs are the Bills’ primary rival and share fact that they are able to build around a top tier franchise QB.  Marino noted that the Chiefs have only three starters from their 2020 Super Bowl team, and that since drafting Mahomes, they’ve spent 17 of their 24 premium draft picks on defense. Getting ready to move on from Sneed seems consistent with their long-term philosophy.

Yea after breaking down the WR class it definitely a deep one for sure. Just going off of the tape my top 5 pre combine is:

    1. Marvin Harrison Jr.

    2. Rome Odunze

    3. Malik Nabers

    4. Brian Thomas Jr

    5. Ladd McConkey

I had Tez Walker at 4 before his horrible senior bowl and not sure McConkey is a Bills fit as a slot but I like him as the # 5 guy. I think the best fit for the Bills is Troy Franklin. Big productive WR in college who can stretch the field but is more diverse than Gabe Davis coming out of college. I'd like to see Franklin add more bulk to his frame as I wonder if he will struggle against press in the NFL. For the rest of my top 10....

    6. Franklin

    7. Adonai Mitchell

    8. Coleman

    9. Legette

    10.  Baker

As I listen and read more draft analysis, I wonder if Odunze is really a sure-fire top 10 pick, especially if he doesn’t run under a 4.55 at the combine.  Great college WR but seems like more of a contested catch guy than someone who will separate consistently from NFL corners…reminds me a little of Drake London.  Not saying he’s not a really good prospect, but I’m not sure he deserves to put in the same tier as Harrison and Nabers…

  13. King was starting to lose it, as demonstrated by his loony take that the NY legislature might cancel the Bills’ stadium deal after the McDermott 911 speech story broke. Any time he ventured opinions outside the game of football, he was absolutely embarrassing.
