The Bears are becoming the Cleveland Browns of the NFC.

‘They weed the draft of busts, and cut players that will go on to be better, and make senselessly bad trades

I don't understand all this dunking on the Bears.  They have actually made a lot of really astute trades lately.  The trade with Carolina last year was brilliant, and their mid-season trade for Montez Sweat was widely mocked, but has turned out well for Chicago; he completely turned around their defense.  The only bad one they've made in the last couple years was giving up a 2nd for Claypool.  And who are the busts they've drafted?  Fields didn't really work out but he's been a lot better than guys like Zach Wilson and he was taken the middle of the first, not at the top.  They are positioned to have a pretty strong team this year if they draft the right QB.

I mean, honestly, if all it took was a 6th round pick in next year's draft, I would have given the Bears that to have as Josh's backup for a year and then we wouldn't pick up his 5th year option so we could just release him. That's crazy

Supposedly, at least one team with an established starter tried to acquire Fields, but Chicago decided to do him a favor by sending him somewhere he would have a chance to play.

It's always fun when you're a fan of a team you know is going after a QB early in the draft. 2018 was so much fun looking at all the tape on the top guys and wondering which one beane would go for

It wasn’t much fun in 2013.

That Chicago offense is loaded. Way better than a team with the first pick usually would be. Pretty nice situation for Caleb.

Also I think it's safe to say Nabers is going 5.

I am still not totally convinced that the Bears are drafting Caleb Williams.  I’ll believe it when they turn in the card.

Im glad you’re not the GM then lol…

    Yikes 😬

Not mention, anyone who thinks we could have gotten the 23rd pick for Diggs (or that there is any realistic way to trade Diggs) is detached from reality.

Definitely screams QB, but seems like at least one more move is needed, to assure they have a shot at one of the top guys. The question to me is, are any of the teams at the top, willing to pass on a QB and move down?

I think the target is the Giants at 6, to take McCarthy.  I don' think they can get into the top 3.

    1) This isn't happening

    2) People seem to have zero clue of the draft value chart when it comes to our Day 3 picks.  The only way we're materially moving up in Round 1 of this Draft is by packaging 28 and next years RD1..  We only have one Day 2 pick and our RD4's can move us up a couple spots each, at most.

Even next year’s first round pick has limited value because teams assume that it will be near the end of the first round.

5th year option, extend after next year is the most likely outcome. But not a slam dunk.

The 5th year option is a slam dunk.  We're talking about a three-down defensive end who can stuff the run and has a ton of upside as a pass rusher.  Remember, Rousseau is only 23-years old...younger than some guys in this year's draft.

Call up and offer a 2nd next year for one of them. Some will say to wait until they are released, but then you get into a bidding war. Get on the phone, do a reworked deal pushing money into 25' 26' and get Mack.  Beane needs to step up and just do it.

We sure as hell aren't trading a premium draft pick for a 33-year old edge rusher.  It's just asking for trouble.

I'm also a bit surprised that Gabe Davis is the WR who has taken the largest bag going to a new team so far

I expect there to be larger, obviously, but I find it interesting that no one went full court press on OBJ, Boyd or Ridley

There a lot of good, cheap receivers who are going to become available in 6 weeks.  WR is an increasingly important position in the NFL, but the draft seems to be producing a bumper crop pretty consistently nowadays. That’s gonna affect the market.

Them and the Broncos at 11 and 12 are gonna make it interesting. Does J.J. make it that far?

It’s entirely possible they like Nix or Penix, both of whom should be there.

    Falcons are stupid terrible franchise.

Cousins was never that good and he will be hard pressed to even be ready for the start of next season.

    Dumb dumb dumb

Almost as stupid as Eagles wasting all that money on a RB.

    Two really stupid moves

Eagles about ready to fall apart.  They hate their HC and two of their best players just retired.

The Falcons are a joke.  Used the 8th overall pick on a RB. Amazing how many stupid teams there are in the NFL.

That’s actually good for Minnesota as it forces them to move on from a good not great QB who couldn’t get them to the next level.

They are going to try to move up to get a QB...
