New England, Chargers or Arizona

I don’t see how the chargers will be trading down. I think they traded Allen and let Williams go because they knew they’d be able to get Mhj, Nabers or Odunze. All look to be close to surefire WR1s. Huge questions about every other WR. Quinton Johnston doesn’t look like a WR1. I don’t think their plan is to seriously downgrade their receiver unit. Trading down would do just that.
I know Johnston wasn’t their pick, but it’s too early to write him off, and I don’t see a Jim Harbaugh team taking a WR in round 1 two years in a row. I think they trade back, take a tackle and then a WR later, probably on day 2.

So I would never say never but we all know there's pretty much no chance Stef is traded , unless it's an offer Beane just can't refuse, but what I find interesting here are the odds on where Diggs starts in 2024 and as a gambler I'm likely going to put my $ where my mouth is because these odds are great and it's easy easy $.
From article - When DraftKings Sportsbook first released odds on Stefon Diggs’ next team in February, the Buffalo Bills were big favorites (-300) to retain the four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver while the Houston Texans were 10-to-1 to land to get him.
For non gamblers you'd need to spend 300 to win 100 on Diggs staying in Buf and spend 10$ to win 100 if he landed in Hou..
Back to article -
There’s been a shift in those odds over the last month with Houston jumping up the board, though the odds are still projecting a return to Buffalo. By March 18, DraftKings’ new odds had Buffalo as the favorite (-230) and Houston up to +550 - again as the third-favorite - behind the Dallas Cowboys (+400).
With the Cowboys being stagnant in free agency, they’ve dropped to +850 to land Diggs while Houston’s price has been bumped to +350 in the latest market shift. Those odds carry an implied probability of 22.22% that Houston would make a giant splash by giving quarterback C.J. Stroud an elite outside weapon next season.
So now, big difference , you can now spend only 230 to win 100 for Diggs staying in Buff and Hou dropped all the way to +350, 👀👀 meaning instead of winning 100$ on a 10$ bet , now , a 10$ bet will only win you 35$ if Diggs landed on Houston. That's a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE
Just caught my eye and very interesting to see the numbers move that significantly, especially towards Hou . I know what I'm doing, I'm 100% putting 1150$ to win an easy 500$ on Diggs starting the season as a Buffalo Bill. Maybe much more.
Just wanted to give my gamblers an easyyyy money maker that is Bills related!🤑
I appreciate the gambling insights but to me this is a non-story unless the odds of Diggs leaving Buffalo have moved a lot, and it sounds like they haven’t. He’s still going nowhere.

He’s a talent for sure. I am not sure if he’s going to be there at 28 and moving up for a DB might not be the best play. I think any move up is WR based, but wouldn’t toss things at the tv if DeJean got picked at 28.
He will be there at 60.

It's poor positional value and Beane has shown that that is important to the Bills. I just can't see it.

Gunner nice work as usual. Thanks for sharing. I think WR also but feel like the grades are similar on a bunch of them after the 1st 4 or 5. In this mock I'd rather give up #28, next years 2nd and one of our 4ths this year to get Thomas.
I would give that up to move up into the late teens for Thomas, but I have a feeling he’s coming off the board before that, maybe even before Odunze…

Based on the draft value chart the Raiders could trade 44 & 77 to get to 28. The point value is roughly the same.
That seems like a long way to drop for a mid-third.

Penix to Seattle at 16 makes a lot of sense.

I don't think so. Beane called Samuel a "weapon" when asked about him and alluded to his early days in Carolina when he was a hybrid RB/WR. I think they see him as the much better version of McKenzie/Harty. Clearly they value that role, they just haven't been able to get it right yet. Throwing a lot of money at Samuel is a way of them finally getting that role figured out once and for all. It won't preclude them from drafting a true outside WR high in the draft.
I hope you’re right.

So I love Newton and I like Murphy a lot. But they are 3Ts. How do you get the value out of them with Ed playing 70% of the snaps and being your best defender last year?
Not saying I agree with that draft strategy…I think Beane would point out that they use a four-man rotation on the IDL.

Latu is my answer too. If he is there then unless one of the top 3 receivers is also there I'd take him and start trying to trade up in round 2 to make sure I get a receiver. He is just a tier of talent above all the receivers except the top 3. You can't pass on that at a premium position.
But this Bills regime has been reluctant to take risks on injury guys. So I doubt they'd do it.
I think the Bills would also consider one of their top interior DLs if they are available at 28…I think they believe the Samuel acquisition frees them up to go WR in round 2.

It did. The Bills have given up 33 PPG to KC in the playoffs (at least I think that’s the number). There’s no reason to believe a larger investment there improves it at all. It’s a scheme problem more than a talent problem defensively.
If, big IF, the Bills are going to win a Super Bowl it is because of Josh Allen. Let’s call it what it is and stop pretending it’s anything else. Elite QBs are the biggest reason for Super Bowl titles. We have one!! Let’s not hope that he elevates Kumerow or Sherfield or Benjamin, Isabella or whatever other trash WRs we surround him with. Let’s give him an elite player on the outside and create the best offense in football. Let’s have everyone keep up with us. Let’s be the 2013 Broncos or the Greatest Show on Turf Rams.
It's also an officiating problem...referees simply do not call offensive holding in the playoffs (especially against the Chiefs), so when it most matters, they are able neutralize all that expensive edge rush talent that you stocked up on in the draft and in free agency...

Chris Jones. 5 year, $158M contract, $95M guaranteed.
It's not a big hit on their cap this season cuz he gets his $30M signing bonus amortized and vet min salary, but next year it's $34.85M
I said, “other than the Big 3”. Jones is one of the Big Three.

Usually I try to put out a couple of mocks and now seems like a good time to post one with Free Agency slowing down and before the draft. I usually don't project trades but I did here with the Vikings moving up to 5 and the Chargers moving out. Enjoy and try to be nice haha.

25. Green Bay Packers- Jerzahn Newton DT Illinois
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Laiatu Latu DE UCLA
27. Arizona Cardinals- Chop Robinson DE Penn State
28. Buffalo Bills- Xavier Worthy WR Texas
- Alright for all you WR guys this one is for you. Worthy obviously is a high level speed prospect and even though he doesn't fit the specific need for a bigger X receiver or even possibly a natural replacement for Diggs, he is what the Bills are looking for as someone who can provide explosive plays in the pass game which is something that both Beane and McDermott have mentioned this offseason. Besides his world class speed, Worthy was a highly productive prospect. He will have to work on his blocking ability as well as his route running as well as his effort at times.29. Detroit Lions- Zach Frazier OG/OC West Virginia
30. Baltimore Ravens- Amarius Mims OT Georgia
31. San Francisco 49ers- Troy Fautanu OT/OG Washington

56. Dallas Cowboys- Trey Benson RB FSU
57. Tampa Bay Bucs- Cooper Beebe OG Kansas State
58. Green Bay Packers- Calen Bullock SAF USC
59. Houston Texans- Sedrick Van Pran OG/OC Georgia
60. Buffalo Bills- Kiran Amegadjie OT/OG Yale
- Before you dogwalk me on this pick, this came down to Amegadjie and Adisa Isaac. In this iteration I do not see a DT prospect that is worth their salt at this pick with Fiske, Sweat, and Jenkins all gone. Amegadjie is a super raw prospect who obviously plays in the Ivy League. This might be a slight reach but the potential of Amegadjie to become a high level offensive tackle in this league is right up there with the top OT's in this draft. The Bills did meet with him formally at the combine and while tackle doesn't seem like a need at the moment, Spencer Brown is on his last year of his contract and Amedgadjie did start 10 games at Yale at Guard so he could possibly slot into the Left Guard Spot before taking over for Brown next year. He also possesses rare traits that you dont see in an offensive Tackle. Amegadjie is 6'5 323 pounds and possesses incredibly quick feet, 36 inch arm length and over an 85 inch wingspan. Just watch the kids highlights.
61. Detroit Lions- Max Melton CB Rutgers
62. Baltimore Ravens-Jeremiah Trotter Jr. LB Clemson
63. San Francisco 49ers- Adisa Isaac DE Penn State
64. Kansas City Chiefs- Malachi Corley WR Western KentuckyI like what you’ve done here…not just regurgitating the same picks as everyone else, but putting a lot of thought into it. I think your projected Bills picks are zero possibility, but overall, it’s a very interesting mock.

The Chiefs are sticking with their plan: Don’t pay anyone except the Big 3, and keep getting younger and cheaper… it’s worked pretty well…

You’re right. I don’t deserve chicken dinner. I was just toying with the idea of getting into top 10 back in January. Now I’m intrigued about how to get into 10-20 range to get either Verse or Latu for some must needed rush on Mahomey.
What good will that do when they don’t call offensive holding in the playoffs?

I like your take on MHJr. I don’t know if i exactly agree 100. But I like someone who has a different opinion. And I hate how much hype some of these guys get before even getting drafted. We smoked him and his overrated Buckeyes the past 3 years. He certainly did not dominate us. And who really knows how great he will be in the pros. Act like you care. Play in your teams bowl games and work out for the scouts. Act like you are a team guy who respects the process and the game.
I don’t know if I agree 100% with my take either🤣….I mean, MHJ might turn out to be a great pro. I just hate the entitled attitude, which IMO is based largely on his name. Go watch the combine interview of Rome Odunze, who had every bit as good a college career as Harrison. They asked why he was there when other top receivers were taking a powder, and he talked about how much he loves to compete and how a guy’s combine performance is something for posterity and how he’s even competing against guys from years past. Give me a guy like Odunze or Josh Allen over the MHJs and Caleb Williamses of the world…

It is highly probable that a WR worthy of pick 28 will be available. There are also a large number of receivers that make sense for a day two pick and should not be selected in the first round.
The problem with that strategy is that seemingly every year, there is major run on WRs early in the second round. The year we drafted Cook was an example. I think Beane really wanted one of the WRs, but they were all gone by the time our number came up and Beane kept trading back...I suspect guys like Leggette, Franklin, Worthy, McConkey and Coleman will get snapped up by midway through round 2, if they don't go in the first.

I'm really happy that they've put all their eggs in the Aaron Rodgers basket again...I'm very confident that it's going to blow up in their face--again. I will say though, that the Jets' defense is a problem for the Bills and no matter how bad their offense is, they won't be an easy out for us.

He is probably the highest regarded WR prospect coming out since Megatron though. Nothing to gain from working out, only something to lose. If I was his agent I wouldn't let him workout either.
Oh, I don't dispute he'll be drafted high, I just don't think he's going to be a dominant NFL WR.
