  1. Hey, Drop Kick--still waiting to hear your excuse for this game changing call that gave the Pats* a win (one of many such garbage calls over the years)....
  2. Ask the people who play and coach the game that. I read an article last year where multiple coaches said extra time and lack thereof was very key in how they looked at the difficulty of their schedule....
  3. http://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2013/10/13/4835644/saints-patriots-2013-referees-holding-tom-brady-junior-galette Check out the video of the blatant textbook hold by the Cheats* that wasn't called last week on the Brady TD. One of many similar we've all seen over the years.... BTW--I'd love to hear Drop Kick's excuse for that one....
  4. Maybe it's stuff like having no penalties called all game in Cinci two weeks ago, or an obvious hold not called on the last, game-winning play this past week that has something to do with all that winning: http://www.canalstre...-junior-galette Watch the video in that one and tell me that wasn't about the most blatant hold you've ever seen. As per some of the commenters from the Saints site, there was a ref specifically watching it, too, but yet no flag. If not that one, how about the phantom false start on the Saints on their prior drive, the one that should clearly have been an encroachment penalty that would have kept the Saints' drive alive--even Pats* fans are admitting that was a bad call. If not that one, how about the obvious time out that Brees called and which was ignored on the play that he went to get picked on? I've never seen that happen in all my years of football watching--a QB calls TO before the snap and yet the refs let them play on. It was truly a motely refereeing crew on Sunday. Sound familiar--it should, as it seems to happen to us and many others against them over and over. It was a beautiful pass and catch on Sunday, no doubt, but also no doubt that "some animals are more equal than others" in the eyes of the NFL (or at least their refs).....
  5. Agreed. Of the real starters, only Jackson and KW are 30 or over (and KW is just 30). This team has some good, young talent. What they need are a few more pieces (LG, CB) and depth in a few spots (OL, LB, TE). Oh, yeah, and for EJ to be the real deal, plus a little bit of Killer Instinct. Get some of that and we're golden..... Thank you--I tried to make a similar point, but you really nailed it!
  6. What was worse was I could have sworn I heard boos from the remaining crowd late in the game after the Brady INT. Talk about "what have you done for me lately" fans....
  7. That was painful to watch-- of course most of the Pats* "fans" left 20 minutes ago as per the announcers....
  8. I disagree with that last point-- when we were coming back I felt we were the better team, especially all things considered ( including injury)....
  9. That's what I'm hoping, too. The kid looked like a gamer today....
  10. No, but his main qualification for the job was being an old friend of Marrone's, if I recall correctly....
  11. And that, my friends, is how those on the right can remain ignorant for so long--let's not even listen to the other side, "I already know what they're going to say". Willful blindness some might call it....
  12. We really need special team points/field position to have a chance while EJ is out....
  13. I said the exact same thing to my wife (who spent a year at Phillip Morris) last night in watching this--"they must have the same lawyers as 'Big Tobacco', since they seem to have taken a large page of their playbook".....
  14. I'm 40 minutes in. Very disturbing and well worth watching thus far. The part about Mike Webster is particularly chilling....
  15. Remember, (a) Kraft is also a board member at Viacom, CBS's parent and (b) CBS actually has an equity stake in the Patriette Place commercial mall/development. How no one in the media has ever really brought them up or focused on those conflicts never ceases to amaze me....
  16. I'm glad others are starting to notice this, too. "Sunlight is the best disinfectant" as they say. Too bad it's been going on for years.....
  17. Where does he have a better shot to start than here? Seriously? If he gets his butt in B'Lo tomorrow, he will be starting at least 3-4 games and quite probably at least 1-2 more. What more could he ask from a playing perspective?
  18. We'll be lucky to get a 4th considering his contract situation. If he can negotiate a long-term deal with his suitor, maybe a 3rd. I think anything better than that is a pipe dream since our counter party knows we're over a barrel. Personally, I'd be happy with a 3rd about now (barely, and not as happy as if they'd paid him and locked him up long-term instead of sitting on tens of millions in cap space).....
  19. I completely agree and thought that to myself when they announced the hire, since nothing in his background other than that explained the hire....
  20. Thanks--any word on likelihood to return?
  21. What's up with Stevie? Is he hurt?
  22. I don't root for injuries, but that's a huge blow to them (or should be). In my estimation, after Brady, he's their most important player. I hate the guy (on the field) for some of the crap he's pulled over the years, but he's a great player, probably one of the 2-3 best NT's in the League. Off the field, believe it or not, it sounds like he does some good charitable work, so I'll give him props for that, with an asterisk (of course) for the stories of him and that booster at the U--from a story I read on that last year it sounded like Big Vince squeezed that guy for all he was worth when he was a 'Cane.... Interesting take by a Pats* fan over at their forum. May be seeing the end of an era: Originally Posted by RI Patriots fan I hate to say this but looking at the facts, this could be the last we see of Vince Wilfork in a Patriots uniform if this injury is season ending. "No way", you say.... but I'm sure you would have said the same thing about Seymour. Here are some of the facts: 1.) Wilfork has not played well this year....not at all. Maybe he was injured maybe not, but he hasn't been listed on the injury report other than "foot" and he was listed as probable. 2.) Wilfork seems to be very out of shape this year. During the 2012 season he entered the season in much better shape. This year he looks much heavier. 3.) In his career, I don't remember him ever having to rehab from a major injury. 4.) Wilfork will be 33 years old next November. 5.) According to "Over the cap", Wilfork will count $11.6 million against the cap next year. Of that, $8.0 million could be saved, if he was cut or traded. » Over the Cap- New England Patriots 2014 Salary Cap and Contracts Forget your homer-fan love for Wilfork for a second and look at this like a cold hearted Patriots executive. Wilfork will be 33 years old next season. He will be coming off a major injury during which he can't work out (at least with his legs) but he can eat. Do you see him being more explosive being a year older, coming off a major injury, and being out of shape...or less explosive? Is the Vince Wilfork of next year at 33 years old worth $8 million??? I say no....and I was thinking this before the injury. Unless he is willing to take a major paycut I don't see Wilfork playing for the Patriots....again.
  23. Seemed like two different players by half--all-Pro in the first half and rookie QB taking some lumps in the second half when Hackett's play calling went south. We all expected the second half guy this year, but the first half EJ is a big (and pleasant) surprise....
