FYI.. The NFL put a kabosh to that right after Greenbay did it. -
Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?
ddaryl replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think about trading away our Known Commodity. Whom was not even the 1st QB drafted in 2018. There were 5 QBs taken in the 1st rd in 2018 , and 4 of those QBs in the top 10. 2 of those 5 QBs are still playing for the team that drafted them and are successful there. 2 are journeymen (1 drafted 1st overall, 1 drafted 3rd overall), and 1 was a bust. Going by mock drafts and pundits Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold were considered the top 2 picks, and Allen was a debateable reach. but to think we could trade away Allen for a boatload of picks and somehow our chances of overall sccess would guarentee us improvement is whacked. Unless you can 100% guarentee improved success there is not a GM in this league who would trade Allen -
You're so nice you quoted yourself twice!

Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?

Well the balloon needs to be purple. I don't hang on the extremes which these days is left or right Honestly I need to up that Kitkat to a Snickers. Everything else is good so I would then make this trade with those changes -

Allen would have to be old and fading for a season or 2 before I would consider trading him -
Randy Mueller - maybe only ~150 draftable players this year

and we have a plethora of 3rd day picks.... we shall see. -
I wonder if Josh had Dalton run down the fairway so he could hit him long?

I agree that replacing Diggs with a bona-fide #1 WR candidate MAY not be necessary. If Allen can distribute the ball we could be better for it. That all depends on a lot of things. Does the group step up as a whole Do opposing teams start to figure out Brady Injuries and depth It could take the Bills some games to figure out their rhythm, and then you've got to hope they can endure late season games and possibly playoffs knowing the good teams will make adjustments. For me it is all wait and see. Lots of questions no matter which direction we go

I like the 5th year OPTION. The key word here is option

Nobody does film anymore

Legette if we stay put. I base that off whom I feel may be available at #28 and there strength and weakness profile. Sounds like Legette is a hand catcher and can climb the ladder to snag the catch which I think compliments Allen well. I though about Mitchell but his weaknesses seem like something I want to avoid.

Who are the Bills "freakazoids" or potential "freakazoids"?
ddaryl replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
right now Allen is it potentially Kincaid, Milano if he returns to form. Same goes for Von Oliver has moments but I would not put him on the list at this junction -
I didn't think the original title was vague trading Milano would maybe allow us to move from round 5 back into round 4... Personally I believe he has more value being on the team
-
You read that differently... Round 4 is due!!! Chips in

I can see Beane trading up to the mid teens or lower 20's...... He has the ammunition to do more if he feels that strongly about those top 3 WRs... but my thoughts are he will do what he has done before and move up to grab proabably Adonai Mitchell if the run on WRs happens as expected
-
and now we get to see what a Diggs-less Bills will be like. Bold post 1 year in advance, as I wouldn't have felt this way at this time last year

Media coverage of Diggs trade before and after
ddaryl replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
just like social media, it chock full of people with opinions. I honestly didn't see it coming and would of said it wasn't going to happen. -
The question is do you trust Bills scouts and Beane to make the right choice. Watkins was a Doug Whaley move, and hindsight being 20/20 he wasn't a great talent evaluator If Beane feels strongly then he's going to make the move. I share some trepidation, but I share equal trepidation looking for another expensive FA to replace Diggs with added trepidation do to the amount it will cost cap wise while Allen's making his bank
-
they just got to make the right choice, but I agree. But I also share some trepidation with such a bold move.
-
can't live in fear son.... I fear a vet who is about to get paid $30 milliuon a year not living up to the cost just the same
-
Beane wasn't hired till after that draft.... which I believe was to let the new GM choose a QB which did happen the following season May is well after the draft ----- Now I do agree that moving up and grabbing MHJ is a bold move but it would be the right one IMO, we have lots of salary cap room to fill holes in 2025 so using draft capital next year won't hurt to much. We also have extra picks in the 4th 5th and 6th round this year
