  1. The only reply I can come up with after reading your post is you write similar to the way JP plays QB. On another note PFW did a video on their site in line with the article. Their top 5 busts, in order, the past 5 years are 1) Charles Rogers 2)Cedrick Benson 3)Jonathan Sullivan 4) Michael Haynes 5) Pacman Jones.
  2. Yet, every period of time that a different QB than Losman (be it Bledsoe, Holcomb or Edwards-the 3 QBs who have started during JP's years here) starts, the BILLS have a better TEAM than the Bills. Just look at the W-L records with the same TEAM.
  3. Eli Manning has always been better than JP. I don't have my head burried in a stat book. I've seen them play numerous times each and there is no comparison. Eli has always been winning games at a much higher rate than 1 of every 3 starts that JP has done. Eli has led his team to the playoffs multiple times, Eli has played hurt after being declared out for a month by most. Eli was doing well in 2006 before he lost his LT & go to receiver (it was Toomer not Plaxico) and the team went downhill in the 2nd half with those & defensive injuries and Eli took the heat. Now I may be one of Eli's biggest defenders on this board for years, but all you people who believe JP was ever better than Eli are not watching them both play-get your heads out of the stat books & actually watch these guys on the field-One is a consistent winner who is light years ahead of the other. In case you're still burried in the stat book, Eli, Super Bowl Champion is the one who is light years ahead of JP-always has been, always will be. JP is a bust, keep hoping & dreaming and when he wins the Arenaball championship you can say he's turned the corner.
  4. That's because the guy who drafted him, was run out of town on a rail and wasn't involved in the last 3 drafts. He had 2 bad drafts out of 2 within the timeframe the article covered. He followed up the disasterous 2004 draft, where only Lee Evans worked out with his equally disasterous 2005 draft which left us with only Roscoe Parrish and (hanging on by a thread) Duke Preston.
  5. JP has been here 4 years, he is not being judged off of only last season. In his 2nd year he was handed the job & benched-the JP apologists (including myself at the time) blamed Mularkey. In year 3 he was mediocre most of the season, including the end and because he had a few good games against weak teams that inflated his stats he was hailed by the JP fans as "getting it". In year 4 he was horrible from day 1 of camp through his injury in game 3, had a good game against possibly the worst defense in the league & then reverted to form & got benched & the JP apologists blamed the OC. In 4 years he's "lead" the team to wins in about only 1/3 of his starts and the JP apologists always find a reason other than JP is a bust. How was improving the receiving corps a "priority" for Edwards? The Bills didn't sign any name veteran free agent WR. The team drafted a WRs in the 2nd & 7th rounds-hardly what I call a priority. Now look at what they did at DT -traded for a high priced DT & signed another early in free agency-that's recognizing and acting on a position as a priority. In JP's 1st 2 years the Bills' top pick was a WR. Your final apology for JP is that he came out of the draft as a project. Come on now, no team drafts a QB in the 1st round who is as big a project as JP has turned out to be. If the player is truly thought of as a project, he doesn't get picked in the first or even 2nd round. The Bills didn't view him as the project you do, otherwise they wouldn't have traded up to get him.
  6. Then go out and buy this week's issue. I subscribe & get in in an Adobe file to read, I couldn't find the article on the free part of their website, hence no link. The article has a bust for each team, pretty good stuff.
  7. The latest edition of Pro Football Weekly is out & among the stories is "Major Misses A team--by- team breakdown of the NFL's biggest busts of the past five seasons" Here's what they said: "J.P. Losman QB/Buffalo Bills First Round (22nd overall) 2004 Blessed with all the physical tools desired in a quarterback, Losman has failed to put it all together during his four years in Buffalo. A combination of inaccuracy, ambivalence in the pocket and overall mismanagement of the offense contributed to his inability to get the Bills back to the playoffs even once during his undistinguished tenure as a starter. When he went down with a sprained left knee in Week Three last season and rookie Trent Edwards showed considerable promise, it signaled the unofficial end to Losman's career in Buffalo."
  8. I would think in order to qualify, she'd have to be alive, otherwise it's necrophilia.
  9. Two thoughts on this thread. Bloomberg won't be the VP nominee because he quit the party. Thompson won't be VP nominee because the ticket would be nicknamed "Grumpy Old Men"
  10. No, he's not a Republican, and I'm shocked it took this long for it to be posted. Years ago Bloomberg was a Democrat. He became a Republican because it was an easier path to the Mayor's office. After he was re-elected he began to consider a Presidential run as an independent and quit the Republican party. So he's a former Democrat, a former Republican & currently an independent. http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200706u/third-parties
  11. Have you ever hit anything with a car? I've hit small animals & known it, I'm sure anyone who hits a person knows they hit something. Here's a test to prove my point-go at a very slow speed, have a friend take the palm of his hand and slap the trunk in a downward motion a couple of times. (In my running days I used to slap cars that cut me off and believe me, the driver knew someone was in contact with the car.) After that, come back and admit that the driver had to know he hit something.
  12. I'd like a transcript of the 2002 war room, I'd guess it went something like this: TD: "Damn, Detroit took Harrington, he's gonna be a great one. Hey I've got an idea, since we can't draft Harrington, lets get the fattest, laziest offensive tackle, I don't care that he hates playing football and he's a lousy driver, Gregg and Ronnie will whip his @ss & mind into shape." With the 4th pick in the 2002 draft, Buffalo selects Mike Williams OT, Texas.
  13. OJ did a lot of the things you mention & is on the wall of fame. Now a lot of them were not as a Bill, but some, like the drugs were.
  14. He gave the Bills some credit after a Monday Night win in 1989 vs the Rams.
  15. What I find really interesting is that partisans, like you, turned this thread into a Republican/Democrat thing when my original post in this thread stated that there are worse things than buttons and brought up a comparison between lying about candidates and lack of FCC regulations while someone like Howard Stern says something about sex and is fined huge $. If there was someone saying bad things about McCain (sort of like RUSH did before McCain got the nomination) I would feel the same way. Rush gets away with slander by hiding behind "I heard a rumor"-no matter what idiot started it, yet the FCC bags the sex talkers. You and your partisan friends turned it into Republican v Democrat. As I said-Rush has the biggest audience-he's not repeating the rumors except for the obvious reason that he wants it spread all over the place. Also, if you partisans are so convinced there is a tape-find it & show it!
  16. Since I'm not a Democrat or Republican, I can blame anyone & everyone who lies for political purposes and not have to check the political party before I hold my criticism. Rush, Beckel & Johnson are all idiots. As is Hillary Clinton for trying to run a lousy campaign & then screaming sexism when it didn't work. Rush has a bigger audience & therefore gets the most criticism when he spreads rumors, since he reaches more people than the others you mention-yeah that does make sense.
  17. They're as delusional as the ones who thought we'd get a 2nd for JP. The irony is Youboty has less trade value than JP.
  18. It's mild compared with the outright lies & slanderous comments that Rush & his ilk will spew over our airwaves, yet if guys like Howard Stern mention a sex act, without any lies & slander, they get fined while Rush talks BS and there is no FCC violation. Here's one on Rush claiming a tape exists of Obama's wife saying "whitey". He gets away with this sh-- by saying "I've heard a rumor". http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/notape
  19. I think Fred Smerlas once said, or wrote in a book that when they got in the huddle during Hank's last game, Bruce said something like -Anybody making any f'n tackles, I'll get you (If anyone has the book & it's in there, please quote it).
  20. I'd rather sign Lee Evans & give more $ to Jason Peters than bring in Haynesworth, even without any compensation to the Titans.
  21. Strike team member.
  22. The main reasons a player holds out before the season starts are 1) If he's a veteran, as long as he keeps in shape, a holdout in camp is no big deal-we've been there before with Thurman, Bruce, OJ etc. 2) No 2 a days-Bruce loved that part 3) Look at the economics-a player making $4 million (Peters' contract after reaching incentives) loses $250,000 a game. You have to miss a heck of a lot of practices before reaching $250,000. A camp holdout is less harmful to the player & the team.
  23. Just to clarify the house part. There is an exemption: For single person you can make a $250,000 profit on your home-defined as current sale price minus-(purchase price + improvement $ spent on the home during ownership period+ selling costs) as long as you've occupied the home 2 of the last 5 years before the sale. So if you are an owner occupant who has owned the home for 2 years, you get the exemption. It gets better for married people-the exemption is $500,000. So for most people, there is no capital gains tax when they sell their home. Now if one spouse dies, the surviving spouse has until the end of the year of death to sell & get the $500,000 exemption. http://www.irs.gov/publications/p523/ar02.html#d0e377
  24. Sorry to disagree, but a place at the WGRZ building is more appropriate. The Wall of Fame is reserved for football achievements and contributions.
