  1. Don’t hate on me but next year’s draft is supposed to be stacked with more players and talent will be evaluated better. Seems like if you trade down, a pick the following year is going to be more valuable.
  2. One less 1 Technique DT. That’s what I want with a CB who fits our scheme and has size but needs a year to hone his skills (that’s what Eli and Dane can do—I just hope Dane is gonna be what we all saw flashes of).
  3. Every team in our division is having a draft that’s making me want to vomit and I’m sober. BUT, we are drafting where we are because we were one game from the SB. Would you trade what we’ve built for past few years to feel better about tonight’s draft? Our competition is trying to build what we already have—new culture and solid foundation on both sides of the ball.
  4. Good point. My gut reaction was hoping players still want to play for a winner. Understand playing time = more money for next contract but I still live in the old days when winning as a team meant more than getting personal stats. Think I’m from a different era—NBA basketball sums up the new mentality of athletes you implicitly identified. Sad that winning isn’t the number one goal for these kids.
  5. Nice cheat sheet for 2nd courtesy of NFL.com: https://www.nfl.com/news/best-remaining-prospects-available-in-the-2021-nfl-draft
  6. DT/CB/OL/WR/—-BPA: DT—our rush def. blew and Oliver needs a 1 true technique so we can see what he is and who will play with him for years, not for one year (I’d like two in this draft Beane whiffed last year in FA and it hurt us) CB—need 2nd CB but don’t reach for guy who isn’t perfect scheme fit—rather give Dane or Eli the reps (he proved he’s in the conversation) take one in 3rd who is a raw fit that we can develop (with Dane, Eli, etc. in house barring one of the plug and plays we get better immediate impact elsewhere OL—a big ugly with a nasty streak who is versatile—maybe then we can run better WR—love to get Josh another shiny toy and there are enough to do it after the 2nd TE—BPAs abound elsewhere (get competition later but this is Knox’s last chance—don’t see 2nd round TE with DT/OL/WR talent there AND, THOUGH IT’S EARLY DON’T FORGET UDFAs. WE’RE FINALLY A LEGIT DESTINATION. Wish we had an extra 3rd.
  7. James Hardy and Jeff Tuel. But they weren’t first round picks when we’re one game away from the SB. BPA. BPA. BPA. Can’t coach what JOK has and has shown on the field.
  8. I hope you’re right, I really do. But when a dynamic top 15 player with no med or character issues falls to 30 and we can still pick up an edge rusher in the 2nd who we can coach up (JOK’s talent isn’t coachable) I think of the havoc Milano and JOK could cause (as Tremaine wanders around confused until they fix the scheme to use his uncoachable talents and maybe JOK would have caused the scheme fix). Now tomorrow we need to get a CB, DT, OL, WR and a shot in the dark TE (I’d say BPA but need is where we went last time so...). And, I know Rousseau was a top edge rusher and we need one but this was a weak year and isn’t that based on one year’s production? Many teams have been down that road before. Trust me I hope I’m wrong, I want Rousseau to be a stud and will root for him. Long emotional day! Excuse me gents...
  9. Oliver needs a one technique. I hope Rousseau isn’t a 1 year wonder.
  10. With what capital? We have five year options coming up we need to get experience. Need CB/DT/OL/WR/RB in no particular order.
  11. but aren’t we supposed to go BPA not one of four top need guys. Not hating just hate to hear BPA, BPA and we go need, JOK was top on board even if we have Milano locked up imagine the schemes with the two of them? Leslie couldn’t, I guess. That said, I trust Beane except with ex-Panthers. 😉
  12. JOK—Milano aside BPA—aren’t we always supposed to go BPA. CBS lefts don’t touch JOK.
  13. Trade down. Hate to take a risk. At this point many players of similar value are available. Why not get some draft capital.
  14. I don’t want to jinx us but now is when I need a Xanax. Gotta hold on and hope the dominoes fall in our favor. Regardless, isn’t this better than picking mid to late teens not so long ago for far too long!
  15. Keeping my fingers crossed that some crazy picks start happening so players slide and we can pick or a trade down and get more draft capital and still get our man! I know we’ll have to wait until the late teens or early 20s for those picks to matter. PS. I’ll never get over the Niners taking Patrick Willis literally right before us (I know there were many other “what ifs” but that one really stung me worst for some reason). And, I miss Al Davis and his surprises (Heyward-Bay).
  16. Just my opinion—I think my post makes sense and you are free to disagree, my feelings aren’t hurt. With the draft coming up and all the fun we’re having with it. I thought back to the Edmunds and Ford moves (which I believe I indicated in my post and definitely at the time, I was excited about on draft night). But, I believe there’s a big difference between ditching Benjamin or other “prove it deal” players or getting rid of Zay Jones. I’m not going to dissect every player move (Kroft, the D-Line moves last off-season, Wyatt Teller, etc), I was only addressing my view, or disappointment, on the Edmunds and Ford moves and my personal opinion of human nature in regard to holding out longer with some decisions we make. I merely believe when a FO rolls the dice in what I’d say is a pretty big way (and I’m OK with taking those shots), it makes it hard for them to go in an opposite direction (Dawson Knox is the flip side, he’s the flip side). I think it’s entirely different with Edmunds and Ford (two entirely different stories and much bigger moves). I think most everyone here agrees that Ford is not the player the FO hoped he would be, a starting tackle. From what I recall (but my memory isn’t what it used to be) a lot of people thought he wasn’t an OT early on in camp and he was later resigned to the role of a guard (which I don’t think we saw from the FO as early as I think you’re implying). As for Edmunds, Pro Bowl votes aren’t my measuring stick and I’ve seen the games and the game play of Edmunds is very frustrating for a guy drafted where he was, what he’s supposed to be with the amount of snaps he has (and I have seen lots of posts by many people who agree he doesn’t seem like the guy he is supposed to be—look at the game day posts and others). I’m sorry you misconstrued my what I said, particularly about Edmunds. Never said he should be cut, that’s absurd, or that others we have on the roster right now are better than he is in his role (which is my point, why no real competition). As for Edmunds, look at the posts before Milano was re-signed, many people wanted his role on defense changed and people wanted us to draft a LB to take that old role. With his option coming up and my hope to keep giving Josh what he needs, I think it’s ok to reflect on the pick. I hope this is the year he turns it around, I’m rooting for him, and I hope Ford can play guard like we need.
  17. December 23, 1989, 5th coldest game in Bills’ history—frozen kegs of beer at Giants stadium—stayed whole game. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/the-top-10-coldest-games-in-bills-history-5087866
  18. The FO has too much invested in him being more than just OK—they traded up and told us he was an OT unlike everyone else ... and I believed them. They had so much credibility. Same thing goes with Edmunds. They won’t do anything with him either that would undermine their anointment of him as stud for years to come. And, I believed them too.
  19. Use of the term “indentured” might get you “doxed” even though it was not used in a way they would disagree with if they understood it, they’ll still make you leave the state (sorry it’s Saturday at 10:27 pm, I’m a little “out of sorts”). And, I’m watching “The Ten Commandments”!! 🙏
  20. BPA—CB, Edge, DL (1 technique), RB, LB (hedge on Edmunds), OL (big nasty run blockers)—trade down and get an extra 3rd if we can—I don’t think SF is going Mac with 3rd pick, but I think he might be there for a trade up at 30 (hoping—want that extra 3rd to use or trade up). As if I know anything! But it’s fun to play GM and do the simulated drafts. We have our WRs who should be recovered and ready. It would be a luxury pick. Like we’ve got Dawson’s Creek for another year—his do or die year. Luxury picks high up at WR or TE.
  21. Heard him interviewed on NFLN and he was talking about how he likes to play chess. Not going to stereotype but that’s a nice change from Fortnite. That aside, he seemed like a good kid. But, can he cover and play the run? He is still learning the position so it’s gotta be hard to assess him.
  22. To those of you at TBD who are much more football savvy than me, I’m a layman, no shame admitting that. How do you feel about our run blocking and which type of RB to take and when? As a layman, at 30 I like going BPA and from what I’ve read and heard in various outlets, there’s not much difference between 30 and the next dozen (though if Harris is there great but I think we have to move up and I’d rather go down a little for an extra 3rd, get a big 1 technique DT earlier than later—here’s the Drafttek pick value link: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp) Running behind a ‘Bama line and running behind the run blocking line we have is very different (our OL is last year’s, I assume with Ford, who many don’t seem to feel is the player we moved up to draft—as an OT mind you—think the Williams re-signing puts that to bed).
  23. Like many of my generation, it’s the memories of my childhood hero, OJ Simpson—he ran with grace, agility, speed and power. Watching the old highlights of him running with the ball will always amaze me (he’s in that special class of all time greats).
  24. Too much $$. Some good players available in the draft to replace him.
