Plain and simple, Josh Allen is the definition of an MVP. Really happy for him, now Beane better get him a shot at winning a Lombardi.

I like Groot plenty but I agree with your assessment of his play in the last three big money games. What makes this even more confounding is his expected top-dollar DE extension. Spotrac has him with a $24 million market value. For that type of money we need DEs who do come up with those big game third down closeouts (sacks/TFLs). Whereas it’s a totally different situation than any future Cook extension discussion—he keeps improving and has made big game-changing plays (I know he’s not due until ‘26 just using him as an example of a pretty clear deserving extension).

Do we get comp picks?? 😉

Play calling had a major impact.

Thought he righted the ship in the 3rd with the rushing game that has made us the “balanced” team everyone has been lauding. Made several calls that we could not afford to fail on in the 4th quarter and I’d like to know why.

Why don’t we bring in an experienced and well-established DC who is not looking for a HC gig and knows more than Babich has forgotten. I was so happy when Frazier didn’t return and thought good things were in store for our defense, well I was extremely mistaken.

Still takes horrible angles and then he knocked out Benford instead of Kelce.

DTs made adjustments and played the run better. But, like you said Groot didn’t finish plays when he got to Mahomes and didn’t contain on Mahomes’ running plays to the outside. Didn’t notice any other DE making a difference either. Story of our defense for far too long.

Trust him with the late round picks but I have to keep hoping that maybe this draft will be the one where he starts to hit on his first and second picks. What other choice do we have? It’s McBeane for the unforeseen future for better or worse…

This season made it clear (again) that we need a real edge rusher (to close out on pass rushing downs—example on 3rd down, a 1 technique DT to free up Ed and plug up the gut to contain the run, a number 1 WR who can separate and a starter quality CB. Think we can address these needs in the draft (love having a 1st and 2 2nds but I’d really love to get into the 3rd round using our draft capital so whichever of those position players we don’t get with those picks we can still get a “solid” player at the other position. Think we don’t have enough $$ to make a splash in FA while we have important extension decisions with key players.

No holding call against KC there. 😉

Brady has been GREAT all season but this is a career making/legacy game and I’m sad to say it hasn’t been pretty (aside from the 3rd rushing drive). That 3rd down call was a nail in the coffin.
