So, if Dareus can't really be cut, and nobody in the NFL is stupid enough to trade for him and assume that moronic contract, why not just sit him? Don't dress him, tell him not to bother coming to the stadium on Sunday. I've been saying this for a year now, he doesn't really help the Bills. he sometimes turns in a good performance, but that doesn't make up for the distraction he causes, and he's going to be gone as soon as it's feasible to do so from a contract perspective. At this point it isn't even about teaching him a lesson, as he's shown that he's not capable or concerned enough to absorb it. I manage a team of technical professionals, and have had people like MD before. Sometimes, particularly if they are politically connected in the Firm, the best I can do is just avoid giving them any important work, and minimize their negative impact on the larger team. Gleason's column is directionally correct. The Bills aren't going anywhere this year, but they can start to instill the correct culture for long term success. There isn't really a scenario where MD fits the long term plans, he's not going to change, and he's only going to be a cancer. Sit MD, send him home. He can collect a check and sit home and get high to his heart's content, whatever he wants to do, just stay the hell away from the rest of the team. Then, the very second it makes sense to cut him, do so. In the meantime, if some team is dumb enough to trade for him, be willing to give him away for a box of drywall screws.

Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick
dorquemada replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know the narrative is that Ragland was a bad fit for the system, but I'm just not seeing that he showed anything to make us think that was the issue, rather than that he's just not a quality NFL LB. I'm a huge bama fan and was ready to buy a ragland jersey after the bills drafted him, but sometimes they just dont turn out like you want/expect. I'm glad they got a 4th in return, we're washing the stink of whaley and rex from this team for sure. -

Jalen Hurts. Might come out this year but probably not. -
Yeah i think most of his defenders here and otherwise are more impressed with Kaep's political stances than his ability to play QB in the NFL. Kaep thinks he's worth $6m a year, no team is going to pay him that. If he was a good QB, sure, but he isn't. That's why gabbert has a gig, he was willing to work for $1m a year

Solomon Wilcotts and the Buffalo Beels
dorquemada replied to TheLynchTrain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, though he was somewhat worse about the captain obvious observations. "it's a bad time to throw and interception" versus the good time to throw and interception of course -
So When Do We Project to Be a Playoff Team?
dorquemada replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not reading the whole thread but this is the answer. tank this year (unintentionally of course!) use picks to maneuver to wherever we need to be in the draft to pick whomever the best QB is, a year of seasoning then 2020. This pretty much has to be the plan. Who knows, maybe we wont be terrible this year, but 1st year coach, new schemes, lost some players, looks pretty grim. -
H2o Mock Draft 2.0 - Major Changes Across The Board
dorquemada replied to H2o's topic in College Football
Foster or Howard in Rd 1 is fine. I'm a huge Alabama fan, I'd lean towards Howard, but Foster will be a great long term addition. I'd like to think him and ragland could do what they did a couple years ago. nobody will be running for 200 yards against them! -

dorquemada replied to H2o's topic in College Football
yeah the amount of mental gymnastics it takes to put CB on the same tier as QB in terms of NFL success is pretty remarkable. I have an idea, let's get a good coach (maybe?) and a good QB (again, maybe? hard to tell the latter without the former) and see what happens -
H2o Mock Draft 2.0 - Major Changes Across The Board
dorquemada replied to H2o's topic in College Football
Yup. The Bills believe that picking CBs in the first round is a recipe for success, and based on their record who could blame them. oh wait -
Is it okay to have a second team to root for?
dorquemada replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
came here to post this.. by halloween i pick a team to cheer for, as often as not it's the giants as I live in the capital region and it's easier to fit in doing that lol -
Jarvis Landry guarantees a sweep of the Pats next year
dorquemada replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. Good for him, while everyone else is clutching their pearls and pissing themselves about the Pats, this guy is saying...i expect to win -
ESPN removes Sage Steele from NBA Countdown
dorquemada replied to dpberr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, ESPN still makes huge money, tops of all cable networks, but it's headed the wrong way. it's hemorrhaging paying subscribers, which will eventually catch up with them. as soon as they turned ESPN Mag into HuffPo, The Magazine, i lost all interest and stopped my insider sub -
Not for nothing but didn't BP think that Billy Jo Hobert was JK's heir apparent? Or was that Butler?

Anyone nervous about our new defensive scheme (Pats)
dorquemada replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
pretty much this. do their best to slow the pats down, maybe get lucky on a dropped pass or two, keep the pressure up on the other side of the ball, long drives, and try to take the game into the 4th quarter. I think McD is going to play generally conservative ball but use the talent we have, and like someone else said, cant make any worse a show than sexy rexy did against the pats -
Bills want "success" before building new stadium
dorquemada replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or, the alternative view, i think that the NFL as a property has probably peaked in value. Someone might overpay for rights, but not on an ongoing basis. I'm watching the TV ratings and they're still high, but down 8% last year. It'll be interesting to see if the trend continues. There's a lot of competition for eyeballs out there, not everyone wants to spend 2.5 hours every sunday watching commercials for 30 minutes of football -
yes but can he get run over by miami RBs? that's a really important qualification for bills D players
-
I'd be ok seeing him back, and it's not a knock on a guy trying to maximize his income, but once someone overestimates their own market value...particularly if they're looking for double what the market will bear, then that's a problem with their ability to adequately parse reality. That's not just a salary issue, it tends to pop up elsewhere too
-
In my experience as a hiring manager for a team of technical professionals, i can usually tell from a mile away if some is just shopping my offer. In at least half of those cases, i hear from them weeks later wanting to either negotiate or accept an offer that was already off the table. Those are the people who overvalue their market price, and as often as not, you're better off without them

i love your username

Yeah, believe me, as a bills and bama fan, there's nothing I want more than for MD to be the greatest DT in the league. I just have a bad feeling about him that he doesnt care enough about football to get better/return to form and get the stink of rex off him
-
yeah, we'll see. he's the biggest disappointment on the bills in a long time for me, as a Bama fan.
-
yeah unfortunately, i kind of suspect we've seen the best of Dareus and it's going to be downhill from here. I don't think he has the drive to succeed long term, and he's at the end of where his raw physical strength is going to get it done. I was just thinking about this yesterday (Crimson tide spring practice first day!) and came to the conclusion that McDermott will probably scheme to minimize MD's role so when MD decides to phone it in, he wont take the whole D with him

Any way you slice it Kaepernick represents good value
dorquemada replied to stuvian's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
it sounds like some people clutch their pearls and have to find a fainting couch when anyone expresses an opinion to the right of rachael maddow. I don't care at all that Kaep is black or half black or whatever category he puts himself into for maximum victim status. The antics around the anthem were one thing, then when his SJW GF egged him on further, he wore those damned pig socks. He really shouldn't be surprised when his disrespect is met in kind by the people who buy tickets to the games. Leave it to limousine liberals to add race to the equation though, nice work. If the bills sign him, maybe you can buy the thousands of unsold seats that will result. -

metaphors not big in your native language? would explain a lot Oh, so as long as dissent is anti-american, it's actually pro-flag. I think im going to need a score card to keep track of all this sadbrained excuse making
