He was pretty good in Cleveland. He even won a playoff game against the hated Steelers. Then he tore his labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. That makes every throw painful. He gutted it out, and the Browns rewarded him by trading for Watson.

What will get lost in the excitement is that Gabriel had some ugly 3rd down Incompletions and throwaways. And don’t look for any big leaps in his play. He played big time college football for like 10 seasons and got some of the best coaching. Like Bo Nix, he kind of is who he is. And yes, the Browns might be a QB away. Too bad for them that is one of the worst places to be.

They were down 4 and needed a TD. Not throwing the hail mary again was the mistake.

Watching the Vikings suck for the past two weeks really puts how bad the Jake Browning-led Bengals are.

If Myles Garrett had played for the Cowboys, he would be the biggest star in the league.

These guys complain about CTE after they retire, but they let their mouthguards hang from their helmets like truck nutz. Wearing a mouthguard is one of the simplest things a player can do to prevent concussions.

Oh yeah. I hate how people always argue that Belichick was some sort of genius for drafting Brady. If he knew Tommy would be anywhere near that good, they wouldn't have picked all those other guys ahead of him. It's just luck. The 49ers get a franchise guy with the last pick in the draft, while other teams draft guys up and down the draft for years and hit on none of them. I guess if any team is due some luck it's Cleveland so this is less awful than watching Purdy lead the league in passing. FWIW, I still don't think Gabriel will work out.

I HATE when low-round rookie QBs succeed more than anything else in this league. My least favorite player in the NFL is Brock Purdy. I hated Russell Wilson for years. I am starting to hate Gabriel's pretty-boy face more and more every minute.

The potential for disaster is high, because if those guys could throw, they would be getting paid 20 million to be backup QBs instead of 10 million to be stud RBs.

Trick plays are fun when they work.

You can tell that Gabriel spent a lot of time throwing to Bond with the second team in practice. He is looking for nobody else on passing plays. Teams are really coaching the punch-out. I think some of the poor tackling across the league is because defensive players are more concerned with forcing fumbles than wrapping guys up. Hear that sound? Titans fans were probably mostly Falcons fans when the Oilers relocated. Heck, old guys here talk about being Browns fans until the merger. Were they disloyal Browns fans? They switched allegiances when their town got a team.
