The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Well in Joe's case there isn't any campaigning to follow. -
The Big Gamble: Hydroxychloroquine

Yes with a big assist to our loose immigration practices which have imported numerous cases of these diseases and others. -
Unemployment is funded at the state level and by businesses within states so let the states based on their own policies and their own situations decide to extend it or not. The Federal government extended a benefit for a while, at some point the states have to deal with it themselves.

They probably aren't and most are probably really pissed at their Governors for being forced away from their jobs.

Dumb. Test the players a couple times per week. -

And if these patients are the elderly with 1 or more pre-existing co-morbidity factors, or otherwise very sick people then this isn't really news. Those at risk folks should stay out of the line of fire while the rest of us go back to life closer to normal. -

She probably saved a few old dudes. No way you'd go ahead and die if you knew she'd be back to take your temperature. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Good info and I have no doubt that the numbers of people currently infected has been dropping. This data though for sure is very skewed as we've gone from testing only those who doctors have a very strong suspicion of having the virus to a broader sample of people who may or may not be sick. For sure though we know a lot more now than we did 3 months ago and IMO there's enough positive data out there that states should be able to lift business restrictions under some health practice guidelines while encouraging those that are high risk to continue to lay low. -

I know you're posted a lot of data and very good info in this thread and I haven't seen it all and forgive me if I'm 10 steps behind on this but I don't think that positivity rate is all that meaningful for a couple reasons. 1. Here in Illinois in the Chicago area, testing up until latter April was confined to people who had significant Covid-19 symptoms AND were at higher risk. If you were an average Joe and thought you might have the virus and weren't terribly sick, you couldn't get tested. The tests were reserved for other more serious cases. 2. More recently testing has become much more available so even people who aren't sick or had been sick are getting tested because they now can. For these reasons we should expect the positivity rate to be coming down as the sample of people being tested now is a very different from that of a couple months ago in this area at least. Hospitalization and death rates to me seem like the best indicators of the proliferation of the virus in a given area. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Yes that makes sense. From my terribly small sample of people I know or have heard of getting the virus, all live in apartments, condos, facilities for the elderly or multi-family living situations. All of them. The spread into lower income areas quite possibly has nothing to do with race but rather living conditions, lack of information on the part of certain citizens (less access to TV and internet) and just individual practices for cleanliness and social distancing and work environments. I for one would be perfectly fine with prioritizing vaccine delivery or those more at risk or who live/work in higher risk environments. -
The 4-wheeler may also be a problem as I think most pro sports contracts have restrictions on activities like riding one of those. Small problem compared to the alcohol though.

We're always 3-4 weeks away, just after the 12th of each month. -
Admitting failure is hard for some. Very hard.

I don't see a Senate investigation as good news. To me it could signal that the indictments many are expecting and hoping for aren't coming. Law enforcement should handle this start to finish in my view. -
Trump's leadership team

***** politicians. Just so happens that Louis Dejoy had a long career in trucking and logistics which might make him the most qualified of all time to be appointed to this position. -

Yes, those are the numbers and it was electronic timing. If he makes it a priority he can get faster. His running form isn't great. Very low knee lift and the ankle flex looks a little tight. Overall he's a very tight runner. Needs to loosen up and lengthen his stride if he wants to be faster. -
Yes, she's a government knows best politician and doesn't like her decisions questioned by the little people.

How many press conferences with experts has the White House held over the past couple months compared to Flynn remarks? How about the man hours invested in the pandemic vs Flynn? I'll agree with you on any thought you have that time spent on Flynn has been a waste. It has. He obviously should never have been charged in the first place, based on evidence presented that is.
