  1. A little thin skinned maybe. So let's justify the Obama record with a previous decade of decline? He was elected to make a difference and he ran on that. While no President alone can correct a weak economy, it's quite obvious the man doesn't have a clue on how to stimulate economic growth.
  2. I think Trump will flame out after a couple debates. Christie I think will rise some but my money is on Walker in the longer run but he has to find a way to get more people fired up about him.
  3. Trumps early popularity sends a strong message to the other R candidates IMO. That is that a lot of voters are pissed off and want a leader who isn't going to be pushed around by other countries, will take a no bull common sense approach to the big problems and will be tough on anyone that gets in the way of progress or politicizes it. The closest person in the race to Trump in terms of attitude is Chris Christie, Cruz and maybe Carly although she is much more polished which probably causes her to be perceived more softly to some. Walker is quietly tough which might not play as well in a crowded field. I love what Trump is doing especially if it causes other candidates to add some attitude to their campaigns. Trump, if he could articulate his message more like Carly would be running away with the thing right now IMO.
  4. Easy. You make a deal with them and up front you tell them that if no deal is made, we'll ban travel and the flow of money to Mexico and central America and also tell the rest of the world that our military will not defend them. Without any pressure they have no reason to negotiate.
  5. You have to get some cooperation from Mexico and Central America as a part of the solution.
  6. There has been no political will among either party (moreso the left) to solve this problem with our so called friends to the south.
  7. It's not hard to sell the public on the facts which are that: Illegal immigrants take jobs from and suppress wages for some Americans. They cost states, counties and towns a lot of money for social services and education. Some do commit crimes at significant cost to communities and taxpayers. We don't know who and what is coming over the border, some of which are very bad. The population growth as a result of so many years of open borders will reduce the standard of living for many Americans. We allow almost 1 million people a year to come here legally.
  8. It's a good thread and will generate some interesting comments and debate and a few laughs.
  9. It's indicative of people who can't identify what are the big problems we face as a country nor do they have any grip on what successful solutions look like.
  10. It is illogical, but the reality is that media and public opinion shape elections and while an astute observer might find Jeb to be a great choice, his last name will make him an easy target for the left leaning media which IMO will greatly reduce his chances of beating a Dem. Yes, I am accusing the majority of the electorate of being poorly informed on the issues and not capable of making good voting decisions. For this reason I wish Jeb wasn't running at all. There are other good choices.
  11. Any Sanders supporters should wait to see who his VP choices are because he'll probably be dead or into advanced dimentia before the end of his first term.
  12. Too early and you've narrowed the field too much.
  13. She's been very impressive IMO anytime the camera is on her. Like her a lot.
  14. Has anyone read Obama's book? Some reviews of that say he's obsessed with race throughout the book.
  15. Yes, and a darned good homer. Great guy.
  16. We can't get a President fast enough that sees Americans simply as Americans and is loyal to Americans.
  17. Where there are palm trees, there are idiots.
  18. What a load of crap. Hot, steaming, stinking crap. Look past color and at the decisions people make every day when they get out of bed over a period of years and you'll find an amazing correlation between that and one's achievement or lack of it.
  19. Exactly. My ancestors came over on the mayflower which probably makes me as white privileged as one can get.
  20. The only problem there is the US military base in South Korea. If we close that up I'm sure the Koreans will be reunited into one big happy family. Just another example of how the U.S. is a negative influence in the world.
  21. Dems basically have nobody running who is competent. Not even close to competent which will make this election terribly embarrassing if one of them wins.
  22. Kate Upton? You can do better than that.
  23. Just some ordinary Joe's celebrating southern pride.
  24. Yes. What is also interesting about Obama to me is how few people in the past several years have publically shared any stories or info about him from his earlier yes. Nothing from an old girlfriend or roommate or buddy. Not even a story about something funny or good. Only silence from his past.
  25. Johnson is worse than a disgrace. He continually lies when he is questioned. Just another one of Obama's insiders doing his dirty political work. Who could possibly believe that he doesn't know who Kate Steinle is?
